Carne asada, beans, rice, chips, red sauce (consumed green sauce) tamarind drink.

When I want a good, get down, money in the bank kind of meal, I'll pre order my carne asada or pastor burrito or tacos from Martins. Good flavor, well portioned, balanced, and pretty good size. The green sauce is hella good you get chips too boot, and it is always ready when I arrive. You put one of them babies down, your set for a minute. Inside dining is plain, simple, nothing fancy, restroom for customers, eat and get on down the road. Service and food are all good.

Shelter in place 2020- Martin's Taqueria put together an $18 family meal which includes a dozen tamales (pork, chicken or chili w/cheese), sour cream, pico and lettuce. Wow these were so good! We bought 3 dozen to share between 3 households. Everyone loved them! Pork was our favorite followed by chili w/cheese. Great job helping the community and cooking with love. You need to order at least one day in advance as they make all the tamales in the morning for that day.

Today we had hearty wonderful Birria! We ordered birria tacos too! The servings for our family came with hand made tortillas, the chopped up fixings of cilantro, onion and chilies in different forms. The broth was wonderful! The meat in this soup was wonderfully lean and cooked to a soft savory perfection! I've traveled all the way to Oakland for my fix of birria tacos but no longer because the tortillas themselves have won us over! Try this place, you won't be disappointed! If you're a wimp that orders food without the spice then continue to taco bell. The food was fresh and hand crafted with love, pride and it was incredibly flavorful too!

Decent grub, very nice staff, small little place attached onto a market. The decor of the place is simple, just a seating area and a kitchen. This place is designed just to get your food for pickup or a quick bite. The salsa is a little runny but it has a nice kick to it. I feel that if they just gave it a little substance it'd be much better. The chips are covered with salt so don't add any to the salsa to try and bridge the gap. It's what I did which didn't work well for me so I just scraped off the salt off the chips due to not checking. I tried the vegetarian burrito which is one of the few places to have actual vegetables in it which was nice. The flavor of it was decent, the flavor it was cooked in worked well but made for a lot of liquid inside the burrito. By the end it had disintegrated and was difficult to eat. I can't knock it too much though. Options are limited. Honestly though if they had a nicer salsa I'd probably stop in again.

They charge for chips, $1.50 gets you about 6 chips. Tacos were terrible. Sorry, but I just cannot recommend.

I had the shrimp taco--flavorful, though a bit on the mushy side. My husband had the chile relleno, which was good, but the sauce was very spicy (a heads-up for those sensitive to heat). The service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. Overall, a great experience and one we'd definitely recommend if you're in the area.

I was hoping they had mole but they didn't, which might have been too carby anyway. I was pleased to see that the menudo didn't have corn in it making it something I can have. The menudo was excellent, they don't skimp on the tripe and it tasted great, especially with the chili oil at end of the buffet. The Birria was also very good and I had to try the nopales con huevos which was okay. I wish I could have the tortillas that are made in site, my wife loved them enough to wrap a few up to take home. However had I not been writing a Yelp review I would have just had more menudo instead. It's just that good. I suppose one thing to know is about the long communal tables. In case that's a problem for anyone.

So after settling in line and realizing we were in for the long haul-my breakfast burrito craving instincts started kicking in,so I jumped on my phone and opened Yelp and saw this interesting looking spot wasn't too far away. With my spot secure in line by my buddy,I jumped in my car and headed to Taqueria California in Windsor. The shop is located in a multi tenant shopping center so parking is zero issue. Walking in I was greeted by the amazing smell of breakfast meats cooking with those beautiful Mexican spices,I knew I was in the right spot. The very friendly staff took my order of 2 breakfast burritos-I got a Bacon version and a Chorizo version-they cost $13.00 each Both came with a green and red sauce on the side and also a complimentary small bag of chips. I ended up trying a little bit of the bacon burrito, since it was my friends,it was pretty good and one can never go wrong with a bacon breakfast burrito-but honestly my chorizo burrito was amazing. It was perfectly seasoned-not overly greasy-and then paired with the two salsa-each bite was better than the next. The potatoes went so well with the eggs and chorizo and cheese-I enjoyed it very much. This was the perfect meal to start off what ended up being a big day of beer drinking at the brewery. In closing-if you ever find yourself in the Windsor area and are craving a breakfast burrito-I give this shop 2 major thumbs up and guarantee you will enjoy your meal from Taqueria California.

As far as Breakfast Burritos go, This was top notch. Service could not have been better or nicer. Chips and salsa both excellent; the folks in our group who'd been here before ordered the guacamole even before we sat down. I love how guacamole is slightly different in each restaurant -- this guac is super fresh and really delicious! One friend wasn't super hungry and so got the chicken tortilla soup -- just know their portions are LARGE. So soup truly is a meal in itself! Two of us got salads -- a friend got the taco salad, and I got the chicken tortilla salad. Honestly, I'd probably get the taco salad next time, but not in the tortilla -- the chicken in my salad was deep fried (I know, I'm in a Mexican place, what did I expect?) and so it kind of overpowered everything. Others got burritos, tacos -- and everyone gave approving "Moos" of enjoyment as they ate. Great drink menu, ice-cold beer. Definitely someplace I'd return to!

Better to go to one of the many other great Mexican restaurants in Windsor. While checking their…read moreonline menu, I noticed that only some of the burritos had prices listed while others did not. I called to ask why that was. The girl on the phone said it was because different meats cost different prices. She said that chicken and pork cost less than beef. I asked her what a pork "Macho Padre" Burrito costs since it was one of those that did not have a price listed. She said it was $14.99. I was very clear that this was the "big one that feeds two, right?" She agreed and said that it definitely was. Knowing this was a fairly large burrito, I double checked with her, and she was certain. Once I showed up, a guy proceeded to ring me up. He asked me if I was paying with cash or card. I asked him if there was a price difference, and he said yes. It was less expensive if I paid with cash. I chose to pay with cash and it still came up to $26. I can only imagine what it would have cost if I wanted to pay with a credit card, close to $30? I told him that the girl on the phone said it was $14.99 plus tax. His response was that was the price without meat. I explained to him that we never talked about a vegetarian burrito at all. He tried to avoid the point by reminding me that this burrito had pork in it. I responded by telling him once again that the price quote for $14.99 was with pork. He even said that he heard the conversation to be otherwise, to which I reminded him that I was actually on the other end of the conversation and that I had a better understanding of what we talked about. He argued saying that he wasn't lowering the price at all, and that it was going to be $26. I told him I wasn't going to pay that and he seemed to be OK with that as I walked out without the dinner I drove down there to pick up. Not only are they liars, but any place too embarrassed to post their actual prices for their more expensive burritos on their online menu is disreputable at best. I've never heard of a business practice like this, and hopefully I'll never see it again. Once I got home, I decided to call back, hoping to speak to the girl that gave me the false information on the phone. She did answer, but then immediately put me on hold. After holding for some time, it was obvious I was being blown off, so I hung up. I called right back and this time they let it go to voicemail. Clearly, she remembered my number and knew who I was, but was too cowardly to face what she did. There's too many respectful restaurants in the area that wouldn't do something so sleazy and unprofessional as this. Go someplace else.
