Once we ate at Havana, he is a changed man haha. For my meal, I got the Ropa Vieja with congris and sweet plantains. The Ropa Vieja melted in my mouth and the congris and sweet plantains were the perfect balance of sweet and savory. My husband loved the two meats and the portions were huge. I crave this place on the regular and would highly suggest going to this amazing place.

But one is something better than what the Place offered for food. Saw this nicely highly rated place and decided to check it out. This is a small mom and pops Restaurant when you first walk in the aroma of all the spices and the cooking reminds you of something from home. It's a acquaint place probably only seats about 20 people. Sing a table you have the atmosphere of being in Cuba except that it was 25° and we're in New England so now to the food we got the fried pork belly the pork sandwich and the Cuban all were very nicely made good quality, quality quality of food. Excellent bread did they use each bite was very savory and felt like it was cooked by your mom. Definitely leave her in the area and you're looking for something different. It's a must check out..

So let me start with I visited this little hidden gem late June and it was so GOOD that I visited…read moretwice that week! (This is my second review as my first was about 7 years ago and I believe they were just starting...had to give it another shot!) Ok I am Mexican and I love finding places that show our delectable cuisine. This place is a fine example. I started off with a michelada and it was made just right. The correct blend of lime, spice, and seasonings. My son ordered the birria ramen. He is a soup guy and he did not leave any behind. It was tasty and with a little lime it was perfect! I am a molcajete connoisseur and have tried them everywhere I have visited in RI and MA ....and I tell you it is the best I have had! What makes it is the cheesy sauce! My friend and I could not stop spooning it that we asked for bowl to have it! (My mouth is watering.) This family owned restaurant is beautifully decorated. Colorful and welcoming! Our waiter Gabriel added to our experience. We will continue to visit the wonderful location!

The Birria Burrito was good, not amazing. The consome wasn't rich and flavorful like it should have been. Mostly just some beef stock with Onion and cilantro added in. The beef in the burrito didn't have a ton of depth or any of those hallmark spices that I'd expect. Overall, nice space, good experience and I'd give it another go at some point. But my search for excellent authentic Mexican continues.

We were in Newport for the weekend and decided to detour to Providence on our way back home to eat…read moreat this place. We found street parking close to the restaurant and that worked well for us. We had about a 25 minute wait before we were seated as we expected. There were tons of people waiting for a table but they have a good system going and we got our table by the promised time. You are first provided complimentary chips with 3 warm dips (black beans and mild and spicy salsa) - they were really good. For appetizers we shared a garnacha and a chicharron and cheese pupusa. Portions were large and they were very tasty. We considered getting one main course to share but since we don't live close by decided to go for 2. This allowed us to have a lot of leftovers - enough for another dinner at home. One entree was aire, mar y tierra - delicious fried fish filet, well seasoned and grilled steak and chicken breast. That came with salad, rice, beans and a side of tortillas. We also had the caldo de marisco (seafood soup) and although not mentioned on the menu, our server mentioned that we could order a medium or large size. That came with a side order of rice. Fantastic soup! Restaurant is very lively and the noise level is high with groups enjoying their meals and having conversations. They have several televisions that were playing soccer games in the background as well as music playing in the background. A very energetic vibe. Another great meal and we will be back again in the future.

Ambiance - it's family friendly, booths & table seatings for bigger parties there were 6 of us! 10/10 experience our waiter was friendly and happy!

I had never been here before, but I'm in the Boston and Providence area for work this week and met…read moreup with friends here tonight. One of my friends used to live in the area and said this place was good. All the food was very delicious. I had one of the steak dishes and for some reason it was a little bit spicy to me, but it was still very good, and it came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. One friend had the Lomo Saltado, which I tried and it was very good, and another had one of the other steak dishes, topped with a fried egg, and said it was great. He also can't have dairy and explained that to the waiter, who was very good at making sure nothing was cooked in butter for him. I wasn't going to get a drink, but my friends were drinking so I ended up getting the Pisco Sour, which was great. My friends said this restaurant used to be a lot smaller and then they expanded a few years ago, as well. I think there is street parking but I didn't want to have to find it, so I did valet - it's five dollars (plus tip) and they add it onto your bill. For some reason it ended up being $9.06 for our two cars, which I don't understand, but whatever lol. The only tiny nitpicky thing I have to say about this place is that the service was a bit slow. The waiter did check on us quite a bit, but the place was packed so I understand having slow service, it took a while to get our food. That being said everything was fantastic so I would definitely come back here when in the area.

Jalea: I don't usually like fried seafood, but this was really good! Besides the usual oysters, quahogs, shrimp, mussels, and squid, they also had South American specialties like paiche and pota. The batter was just the right consistency, not too thick, so it was crispy but not hard, and not too greasy, allowing you to taste the natural flavor of the seafood. The best dish was the fried shrimp; the thin, crispy shell concealed incredibly smooth and tender shrimp inside. The yucca fries were thickly cut, crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside, very satisfying. I recommend ordering an extra side of chili sauce; the waiter called it "extra spicy," but it's actually a salsa-like sweet and sour sauce--refreshing and mildly spicy, very refreshing. 903 Tasting: A platter of three signature dishes, perfect for first-timers. Ceviche Mixto had a milder sourness, making it easy to put in mouth, but it was a bit monotonous, and the scallops were a little mushy. Jaleita was basically a smaller version of Jalea. Arroz con Mariscos was similar to Spanish paella, but it was noticeably more tomato-based in sourness, with a hint of cheese. The rice wasn't too soggy either, making it the best of the three. Lomo Saltado: A classic Peruvian dish, and well-made. The beef is very flavorful, emphasizing the tomato's acidity rather than the soy sauce's saltiness, and the gamey taste was well removed. Although it was a bit overcooked , it was generally acceptable. By the way, their backyard was really beautiful!
