They have a large selection of meats to choose from for the tacos but we ended up getting carne asada, carnitas, and chorizo to keep it simple. The food came out all at the same time and it was all hot, looked fresh, and smelled fantastic. The fries were crispy and topped with a generous amount of well seasoned, tender, and perfectly grilled carne asada, creaminess from the cheese and sour cream, and hints of spice from the jalapeños. The tacos were also very delicious, despite being simple street tacos. They all had a good amount of meat (although it might have been a bit too salty) and the tortillas were soft. I would absolutely come back to try other menu items. Their staff was also very kind and attentive. The space is very colorful and bright, decorated with some authentic Mexican items/images. They have a big parking lot, which takes away some of the stress. It is also near downtown so there are other good businesses around.

We started with the house margaritas, and the medium was well priced and larger than I've seen lately in most places. It had excellent flavor and you could taste the alcohol (which is a good thing!). Loved the complimentary warm chips and the salsa was very good too. We ordered chorizo tacos, a carnitas taco, and a beef supreme taco, along with Mexican rice and a pork tamale. To me, all of the meats seemed a little too salty, but maybe that was just me. Everything tasted fresh, was nicely prepared and well presented. The flan we had for dessert was excellent and service was good as well.

The tacos and burritos are small, and while they're good, they're not at a level where the cost makes sense. At this price point, I expected either noticeably higher-end ingredients or something that really stands out beyond a solid taco/burrito. It ends up feeling like you're paying premium prices for a pretty standard portion and experience. Not bad food at all, just not a place I'd go to regularly given the value

Oh- you have my attention!…read more To be honest, Tuxpan has had my attention since they were nominated for a James Beard award and only like 7 minutes away from my house. This past Saturday- it was the day. First and foremost I grew up in Pawtucket and if memory serves me correctly this used to be a drive thru photo hut? Pawtucket tap water out of crate and barrel glasses. Lipstick on a pig! Thick chips (needs salt), super fresh guacamole. Win for the guac! 2 tacos. 1. Birria: it's a dirty taco. It's $3 and change for the consomme! (What?!) Lacked flavor. Needs a little something. I added lime and sour cream. 2. Asada: again, missing flavor. I did have 2 bites of their $18 cheese quesadilla (totally overpriced) I did like their cheese but it sat in a small puddle of liquid. Refried beans were very creamy but needed salt. I was left confused over the nomination...
