I have to say we had a just okay experience here a couple years ago, that said, they really upped their game. The staff is very nice! The food got a lot better! They also have tamales(pork). My mom can be a fussy eater. We went out for lunch, and we both had combos, and I like to usually order a la carte tamale. I told my mom that she could non try some, and share it if she liked it. Well I think she is hooked on tamales now too. She really really liked the sauce they smother the tamale in. With the combos you can get, several different options for fillings. I pretty much always go with the shredded beef! They also have a homemade hot sauce you have to ask for. It is spicy! If you have read some of my reviews, I often talk about my spice addiction. This will not disappoint if you need some fire in your belly. As a former server/bartender I would say this restaurant is kid friendly. My friend, and I have gone out with her small daughter, and we have a nice time here. They have a kids menu, and yes you can get your kiddo a pizza meal with French fries, while you enjoy some family cooked food. Tuesday is probably the busiest day, with beer, and taco specials, as well as there normal m-f affordable, and fast lunch specials. I have been here several times in the last months, and I am super happy to have this as an option for dine in, and take away in this rural area. Not horrible, not great. Typical Tex Mex style food . The good: service was friendly and fast. Chips and salsa were served before the meal, and the portions were.a good size for the price. The bad: The food was way over salted, they didn't offer anything but ground beef for tacos, and the food was really greasy. I would recommend coming here if you really want to have Mexican food and your only other option is Taco Bell. The atmosphere is really nice and everyone was very friendly. I just prefer a more authentic flavor with less salt and less grease. read more

Open until 11 pm on weekends, which was one of the main reasons we went to this place. It was great! Fun atmosphere with people in the bar area hanging out on a Saturday night, groups at tables having a late night snack. We were a group of 8 and they accommodated us with no problem. We were mainly there to have margaritas and hang out. The staff had no problems with that. They brought us chips and salsa and we each had about two margaritas. A few from our group did order some finger foods like chicken wings and cheese dip and a quesadilla. Super chill atmosphere with fast and attentive service, but they also left us alone without pressuring us to keep drinking or buying food. Highly recommended if you want to come hang out on a weekend and drink some margs! Oh, the only issue was when my friend ordered a jalapeño margarita and didn't like it. A couple other people tasted it at the table and agreed it wasn't very good. But the server replaced it with another flavor so my friend was happy. read more

The food was good, but I would advise being thick-skinned as our waitress was not a very nice person to us through out our entire dining experience. We are naturally polite people but something about us rubbed the staff the wrong way and we sat uncomfortably through our meal while a staff person's young son came over to our booth to stare at us (and kick the back of the seat hard several times), I would catch the host's eye as he stared at us constantly from across the dining room, and our waitress was standoffish and spoke very little to us. It seems dated. Like a trip to the 80s where the guacamole bowl was still exciting. Food is solid tex mex, but the place is not inspiring. Better than fast food. Oddly out of place in Peterborough where a higher quality true Mexican restaurant could probably thrive. read more

Watch this place for the bait and switch. Ordered two Items One on the menu Clearly marled $12.24 and showed up on the bill as $14.25 for mediocre nachos. Second Item ordered $16.75 and showed up on the bill as $19.75. When Questioned , we were told, there is a notice prices have gone up and we have tried to keep out prices low as possible. This notice does not say, the prices are higher than what is posted. This place need to check New Hampshire state law. You can have one price on the menu and charge another price. No resolution, reason I got was we have not changes the menus yet the Owner has been in Mexico. I will am going to give the owner an opportunity to see what he wants to to about this problem and will post the results. as for Now they have an extra $5.00 + tax from me that may cost them a lifetime of patronage. read more

Tuesday are $1 hard tacos and $3 drafts. They are packed from 6 pm to 830 pm. Good options abs deals other nights and typically the only place worth eating at after 9 pm. Make sure you look at your bill they will charge your full price for specials to see if you are paying attention. Chicken chimi is great, I have never had any luck with seafood. We have been eating here for years and will continue to do so, especially after this evening. The service is always fast, food is great and staff is friendly. Tonight after getting back home with our takeout we realized we were missing a few items from the order, which has never happened before. I called them back and the manager said they could have the missing items ready in 5 minutes. When I arrived the food was ready and received an apology and small gesture to keep our business. The eight year old summed it up best: "The food is good but the wait stinks" So much potential here....we arrived at 6 on Friday night and were greeted and told there is a 10-15 minute wait. We were given pagers and had to wait outside as there was no room inside to wait. 20 minutes later we were seated in a nice booth. The Decor is dark but ok. We met Mersedes our waitress who promptly took our drink orders and brought us chips and salsa straight away. We placed our entree order at 630. The drinks were strong and plentiful and priced about right. We were provided with refills on soda and chips while we waited.....and waited....and waited..... while waiting mersedes came over to assure us our food was coming and she apologized at lease six times for the delay. She informed us she told her manager about the excessive delay but we didn't see him until near the end of our visit. I get it it's a Friday night but an hours wait for a hard taco a burrito and some rice is pushing it. Finally at 734 we received two of the entrees we ordered from what I would say was the expeditor. Five minutes later another entree shows up and finely a few minutes after that the table has entrees. The food is tastey and decently portioned but definite not knock your socks off, I mean to say the food is just about reason to attempt this place again. The pricking seams to be a little on the high side as well. Your being served with paper napkins wrapped around your silver but the price tag suggests you should at least have some cloth napkins. We saw the manager for a fleeting moment after we were done as he was making his rounds didn't ask us if we were satisfied but did thank us for coming in. Not that I expected it but when the bill came there was no comp even after the constant apologies and statements that this isn't normal for the delay. read more

I've heard a lot of good things from friends about this restaurant so I figured my family and I will try it out. We went down Friday night and the hostess told us it would be a 15 minute wait, 45 minutes later we were finally seated. Our waiter came over took our drink order delivered the drinks, then our entree orders, after that we never saw him again. Food was delivered by the manager, we had to physically track him down for our check. So we pay the bill of $45.16 and I tipped him $6.84 totaling $52.00 (mind you I'm well aware it was below the suggested 20% but felt as if it wasn't deserved due to the service provided. ) The following day I go into my online banking to find not one but TWO charges on my account both for the incorrect value. I'm aware the pending $45.16 will eventually fall off but the charge of $59.32 was charged and deducted from my account. Which I did not authorize, normally a $7.32 difference I wouldn't care but it's the way it was handled. I called the restaurant 3 times to speak with a manager, each time I was told he was not there and they were unsure what time he would return but they would leave him the message. Monday evening I physically went into the restaurant after giving the manager two days to return my phone calls. I approached one of the waiters, when I asked to speak with the manager he smirked and said he's not here, when I asked when he will be in he told me he was on break, so when I asked when he will return from his break he just smiled and said "i don't know". So at this point I think I'm just being avoided, after willingly trying to give the business the benefit of doubt because accidents do happen. This incident has resulted in the one star due to the sub-par customer service and business practice. read more

One of my favorite places to go for date night! The food is consistently delicious and fresh. The homemade salsa with tortilla chips are a great way to start off your dining experience here. Not sure if they still do this but for a while they've been putting coupons in the Monadnock shopper. Buy one meal, get the second 1/2 off. What my boyfriend and I didn't realize was that you have to order 2 alcoholic beverages with this coupon. It's actually cheaper for us to get full priced meals since we don't usually drink when we go out to dinner. It's a great idea to bring in business but once we figured out that we actually weren't saving but spending more than normal, we left the coupon in the newspaper. read more

We've been here three times as i write this. We used to frequent the Milford location, but gave come to like this one as much (same menu). The meals are consistent and are traditional Mexican. There are many selections to chose from but if you're really hungry, the special dinner is a feast with four different entree types and beans on the side. The homemade guacamole is highly recommend- made to order right at the table. The draft beer selection has risen to about 10 as of my last visit- with a good mix of specialties and mainstreams.
