Wow. What can I say about this place that doesn't sound like complete bashing? Nothing, unfortunately. This was without a doubt, the worst Mexican meal I have ever eaten. We started out with a Chorizoqueso app. You know those - meaty Mexican cheese with some fired up chorizo that you dip those nacho chip into, pulling up with stringy cheese tendril flowing from chip to bowl? Yeah. These weren't that. This was more akin to a milky white liquidy-ish soup. Nothing stuck to the chip because it all slip off back into the bowl. The temperature was tepid and not hot to boot. Very difficult to eat and what we did eat, wasn't very tasty. Strike 1. My wife had enchiladas with a Mole sauce. I had the Green Enchiladas (their name for it on the menu - not even enchiladas verde or something like that). Three enchiladas that were stuffed with a lot of chicken (one redeeming quality). How ever, the chicken was stringy and big and difficult to cut with the supplied table knives (not sharp)there was nothing else in the enchilada. No sauce, no veggies, no spices, no taste, to be honest. The three were topped with a modicum of salsa verde and a tiny bit of cheese. Orange rice accompanied. Plain plate, nothing to even try to make it look like a special dish. The enchiladas with Mole, according to my wife, were tasteless. This was not Mexican food. Mexican food is lively, vibrant, full of flavor. Nothing here amounted to any of that. In fact teh best part of the meal was the chips and salsa they brought before we ordered. It's been a while since we last visited. The restaurant is basically the same as we remember though the personnel are all new (to us). Our experience was okay: the food was pretty good, the service was mostly good, and the atmosphere, while noisy, was upbeat and friendly. They make good margaritas, which is definitely a plus. Our waitress was quite efficient and attentive until after dinner, when she seemed to disappear. We found the tacos adequate (the chicken fillings a tad fatty); the pico de Gallo a bit bland, the ceviche kinda' too spicy with jalapeños. In other words, the dishes were all over the place. Now, your Tex-Mex choices in Keene aren't a lot, of course, and maybe our night wasn't a good one. But in fact it wasn't awful, just not memorable. This is one of my favorite restaurants I rave about and do my best to visit when traveling through Keene. The food is very tasty and the staff is very friendly. I don't believe burnt food should ever be delivered to any table for paying customers. They need to retrain cooks and wait staff - he was pretty rude when my friend asked for flour tortilla for her burrito. Like she should already know that all burritos use flour tortillas. I can not recommend this place so don't go out of your way to rush over. read more

Really great Mexican food just outside of the heart of Keene by Hannaford's. Friendly service, food served hot and relatively fast, and one of the best red enchilada sauces I've ever had! We are all vegetarian. We began with the jalapeno poppers which come with a nice side of shredded lettuce, guac & sour cream. Three of us ordered different vegetarian samplers and all were delicious. Our daughter stuck with cheese nachos, can't go wrong. Homemade guacamole had a few too many tomatoes for us but was fresh and tasty. I only took off one star as a plate and fork were dirty, and the menus really need to be wiped down. I like more cilantro in my Mexican so next time I would request this and I imagine they'd oblige. We definitely will return! The bar looked cute and cozy, too. read more

The decor is nice. The staff is pleasant and friendly, but would be better organised if they say in sections rather than scattered about. It seemed a long time between visits from our server, who I could see working tables all around the restaurant. The staff are the reason I gave 4 and not 3 stars. The food was okay. I got basically a sampler dinner of a bit of everything. I really enjoyed the chili relleno, something I don't often see on the menus in this area. The taco was okay, same for the tostada, I did not like the chalupa and stopped after a bite. The enchilada was disappointing, not "bad" but also not "good". All in all, nice atmosphere and good staff. If you want a nice drink and have cheap tacos on Tuesday nights, this is your place. read more

We had a table of 8 people, and everyone was taken care of. My brother was a bit of a pain in the @$$ to the waitress, asking where the mortar for the guacamole was from and what it was made of, but he's harmless for the most part. I have friends in Vt and NH and visit the area often. My last trip this year I asked if there was a Mexican restauant around. They had heard mixed reviews (as evidenced from this Yelp page) about this place, but we went anyway. While it has been a couple of months since, I remember some details that I simply have to write down. And I am heartened to see that my opinions are somewhat supported by previous reviewers. So the food is ok, but really I'd rather just go for a pizza. Everything was served as a kind of glop, gloppy either with too much melted velveeta or gloppy with some kind of cornstarch-gooey white sauce. Salsa not so bad, but like everything else had enough salt in it to make you wonder what it might be doing to your blood pressure. Anyway, let's just call the food a disaster and let it go at that. Just stay home and open a can of tamales. I won't go into the condition of the restroom, just saying. But the crowning achievement of the evening here was the most incompetent, rude waiter I have ever encountered. Lupe by name. Slow and indifferent to our needs is a compliment. My girlfriend found a hair in the sauce on her enchilada but when I pointed this out to Lupe, he said it must be hers. How can that be, I said to Lupe, look at the color of that hair, it's black. He just shrugged and went back to his conversation with a friend. My friend's hair is blonde, by the way. In short, avoid this dump. It's dirty, the food is lousy, but Lupe is worse. read more

This place was ok, but nothing great about it. We were seated quickly and served warm chips with salsa. They were pretty good. Salsa a little to tomatoey, though. I don't remember what the dinner I had was called, but it was a variety of different things on the menu. We waited awhile but not an unexpected time for the food to come out and when it arrived the portions were really big. The food itself, though, was not very good. It was extremely salty. Horribly so. Neither of us were impressed. We had enough so that we could have taken some home, but neither of us wanted to. The restaurant was nicely decorated and they do have a bar as well. Mi Jalisco serves some of the best Mexican food around and is overall one of the most consistent restaurants in Keene. The first thing you'll notice about Mi Jalisco is that the menu is extensive. I have never counted how many menu items they have, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's over 100. They also have many drink specials. The food comes out quickly and in liberal portions. Ok I'll admit I was starving for Mexican food but this place pleasantly surprised me. The fajitas were not as spicy as I like but they had excellent flavor. This place started out as "pretty good" and remained so for a solid few years but has since taken a nosedive in both service and food quality. They advertise Monday Specials: $4.99 house margaritas, kids eat free. Apparently it's one of the other. I have been seeing a theme lately about poor service at MiJalisco, and now have to concur with other reviewers. We have come to MiJalisco for many years now. Although we like the food at MiJalisco, the service has become progressively worse year after year. Today was the final straw as the waiter screwed up again, which is very common, but then blamed it on us. That is unacceptable. Boycott!! - the waiter was rude when he asked if we wanted guacamole with our chips and we asked if it was free and he shouted at us and said no and also we left cash tip after paying with a debit card and they added $10 to our bill on our card!! The lady slammed our drinks down and didn't even stop walking as she did it. It sucks because the food is always great. But the customer service is horrible! While in the Keene area we were hungry for some Mexican food, so we decided to stop in at this restaurant. This restaurant hidden in the corner of a strip mall is definitely a hidden gem. The restaurant itself has a relaxing atmosphere and the food is really good. When you are seated they bring over complimentary chips and salsa which other Mexican restaurants in the area do not do. The chips are warm and the salsa was pretty decent! When it came time to order our meals I chose of the chile relleno which I thought was incredible! My partner who grew up in an area with excellent Mexican food and is typically critical restaurants also thought that the food was pretty good which is something to say! In the end we enjoyed our meals and the staff here was great. The prices were decent and the next time we come we'll have to try their drink menu. read more

Found this place on our way to Green Mountains. We wanted a quick snack and get out of New Hampshire. Once we entered the restaurant, which looks deceptively small from outside opens into a spacious dining area, there was no way we would leave in a jiffy. Food - The complimentary nachos were warm and crispy and had the perfect tangy salsa to go along. I ordered for a chile verde with ranchero sauce. The pork was soft and the spicy sauce was mouth watering. I couldnt finish my tortillas and had to get a to go box. Ambience & Service - The singing and dancing transported me back to Mexico. There was a birthday girl next to our table and the folks did make it memorable for her. read more

Being from Houston, Texas I always stay clear of Mexican restaurants in the North, especially NE because I frequent some of the best at home. However, my vacation host and friend insisted this place was good. I conceded in trust and am glad I did. Test one, chips and salsa, was a pass. Chips were not too thin, too thick or stale, they were just fine, especially with a little salt and lime, personal preference. The salsa was good, had a nice spice to it and offered both a runny and chunky option for the chips. Lucky for us it was happy hour when we arrived, so dos Dos Equis were in order. The special was for draft, but they came dressed and ice-ice-ice cold, which was perfect since the temps reached 90 degree. Steak tacos and grilled chicken breast with poblano pepper sauce was the lunch, one with retries beans the other with black. Both dishes were very good in flavor, temperature and size (nice portions, we were stuffed). I really enjoyed that they went the extra step of adding some red onion and a little pico to the black beans after plating, it provided a nice flavor boost. The service was very good. We were created and seated right away. The waiter gave us plenty of space to look over the menu while he gathered our drinks and queso. It no time at all for the food to be delivered and not only our waiter but other staff stopped by after to make sure all was well with our dinning experience. This is definitely a place I will be happy to return to for Mexican cuisine when I am in the area. read more

It's a family owned restaurant and they are in business to be the best. Stop in for a quick bite to eat, or bring in your side chick to impress her on the low.
