I think it's important to share feedback not only for other diners but also for restaurants owners/…read moreoperators. While it has been awhile since I last wrote a review I thought this dining experience warranted one. Experience: - The Square is super cute and offers ample parking. -The bathrooms smell awful, from the moment you walk in the hallway there is clearly a plumbing issue present which has been present our last two visits.. rough way to start your experience at a restaurant. -The menu, no issue with prices going up but using white out over the prices, hand writing new prices which is barely legible is tacky to say the least. -Following our order the food came out nearly immediately and it was clear the guacamole to our main dishes are made in advance and not done well. - To the mgmt team -3% surcharge to use a credit card is a joke, add it to your price or offer a cash/ debit discount not the other way around. On the food side: -The beans were prepared with way too much salt.. inedible was the way we would describe it.. -Mexican rice was awful. No sign of a single vegetable or herbs... Mexican rice should and can be made flavorful with ease by any chef. -The guacamole was clearly made well in advance and brown... I'm sorry, happy to pay a premium for guac at a restaurant but this product shows no effort to ensure freshness. -Main dishes , both submerged in oil and our chicken was served nearly cold... fajitas served lukewarm and lacking flavor which seems hard to do but that was our experience. - Drinks - the unsweetened ice tea was served carbonated for some odd reason from their soda machine... not drinkable sorry. Service: - servers were kind and attentive, checking in routinely for anything we may need which was deeply appreciated. After a few shots at this restaurant we both agreed there is a reason the restaurant is empty, the food , the ambiance, the overall experience for our hard earned money. TLDR for the restaurant - take pride in your food, take a fresh look at the diners experience, Mexican food should be vibrant, flavorful and delicious, this is by far the worst finished product we have ever had in NH and simply put not worth a visit unless something drastic changes.

We arrive early and had some beers and cocktails, they were excellent. Our waitress, Courtney, was so nice. We talked about our families and she was so friendly. My wife had some fried shrimp and I had baked potatoes skins. Wow, they were delicious. She decided not to have a main because the shrimp and the chips and salsa. Everything was served hot and tasted great! I had a Steak Bomb burrito that was out of this world. So much food I couldn't finish it. My daughter had the Ruben Quesadilla which was another delicious meal. My wife actually had dessert, Flan and whipped cream. It tasted great! Great atmosphere to enjoy your family and friends! To end the night there was a karaoke DJ, Richie Rich, who had people come and sing! The people who sang weren't bad. My daughter and her friend got up to sing... not bad. Nice singing for "normal" people. We had a wonderful dining experience and Amigos made a great day better. If you're in southern New Hampshire, make sure to stop it at Amigos. You will not be sorry. Enjoy your family and your friends, they make life interesting. Happy life and safe travels! Enjoy each and every day!

I've been coming to Amigos Mexican Cantina for many, many years. This place used to be a regular…read morestop for us when we were in Milford often. We took a couple-year break simply because we're not in town nearly as much anymore. When we saw they were open again on Sundays, we were genuinely excited and decided to stop in today for old times' sake. First, the positives: the margaritas are still absolute fire. No complaints there at all -- they were fantastic and easily the highlight of the visit. That said, it's pretty clear the restaurant has changed ownership, and unfortunately a lot else has changed too. I ordered the Espinaca burger -- a burger I had waited years to have again because it used to be amazing. Today, it was very obvious that the patty was a frozen hamburger with toppings kind of tossed in its general direction. The quality that made it memorable is gone, and honestly, so is my desire to ever order it again. The appetizer was another disappointment -- clearly frozen, generic, and nothing like what Amigos used to serve. Our bartender/server, Andy, was kind and friendly, but he seemed stretched thin and behind on several tasks with a lot of people to manage, which didn't help the overall experience. For a $100 lunch, this was a real letdown. This just isn't the Amigos it used to be, and that's disappointing to say as someone who supported this place for years. I truly wanted this visit to feel like coming home -- instead, it felt like a reminder that something special is gone. Probably won't be back, which is a shame.

Maybe it was due to the weather or the fact that it's in an out of the way location. The inside is cute and clean. Lots of Mexican artwork. Their menu has lots of options, but we went with a lunch sized fajita quesadilla and the fiesta burrito. They gave us a lot of food for less than $40 - great value. The chips were thin and warm, which I really enjoyed. The salsa was not hot and had a nice hint of garlic. My burrito was served with a healthy serving of guacamole and sour cream, Mexican rice, and black beans. I loved that the beans were not overly salty and everything was well-spiced. The tortilla was thin, which I enjoyed, and was packed with peppers, onions, steak and cheese. My spouse's quesadilla was filling and well proportioned with cheese, peppers, chicken and onions. We were both so stuffed! The service was a little slow, but efficient , and the presentation was beautiful as you'll see in the photos. We will definitely be back to try more food. Maybe I'll see what's spicy next time!

OK, so I'm traveling to New Hampshire and well I said I'm gonna try some Mexican food. I am in…read morenative of Arizona and I'm half Mexican. Now you can't tell by looking at me but born raise form my mom who doesn't speak English so I grew up in Mexican food, authentic Mexican food. So always the test is the beans that's right Mexican know what I'm talking about. A true Mexican restaurant makes good beans. So I ordered my combination. I speak a few Spanish words to the waiter. He kinda looked at me funny. And he asked me about how I knew how to speak Spanish. Well, I told him I was half Mexican. I told him I will be testing the beans that's the true test. Well they passed. The beans were amazing. The chili rellino were amazing. The tamale was great. For all the white people out there this is good Mexican food for all the Mexicans. It's good enough for you to dine. Enjoy.

I was really looking forward to a yummy authentic Mexican food meal after reading the reviews. But…read moreI was pretty disappointed with the food overall. Full disclosure this is for takeout so maybe it's a better experience inside. Speaking of inside, the ambience of the restaurant was fine. Not too crowded but a handful of patrons. The decor was cute and the music was a nice touch. I ordered a combination plate with a cheese enchilada and a chicken taco with a hard shell. I selected refried beans and Mexican rice as my sides. The sides were tasty. The enchilada was fine but the cheese tasted like American cheese, and the taco was disappointing. I expected a homemade fried hard shell but instead It was something from the grocery store and hardly filled with chicken. A homemade taco shell and more filling would go along way. Plus adding toppings like sour cream and pico-I believe those could be added for an extra cost. My husband ordered the fajita nachos. He said they were good but I was a little thrown off by the American cheese sauce instead of the more traditional melted jack and cheddar cheese for nachos. I really enjoyed their chips and salsa. Check this place out for yourself!
