The food was really bad tonight. It was burnt and it was a small portion size. They also forgot the tortilla chips and salsa. For a lazy Sunday the food (Grande Chicken Quesadilla) took a long time to come out. Mine was takeout. They never put plasticware in the bag, so if you are taking out but not going home you'll have to eat with your hands. No one in this place moves with a purpose. There is no urgency. They also don't answer the phone most times I've called. I'm going to try a different place next time. She is very attentive and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure the dining experience is amazing. She can take on multiple tables at one time and has never once placed the wrong order. I will start by saying their food is amazing. I love everything I get every single time which is why I keep going. However there is nobody that works the front desk. If they do, they're never there. I mean you need to wait 10 minutes before anyone even looks over at you. It's really weird. I learned you have to physically go find someone and ask them can you come to the front. Really annoying. And they've turned to the same practice as others, the inside of anything ordered is merely shredded meat in a tortilla with a sauce poured over it. Salsa was tomato puree w/spice. The bartender of mijalisco treats his customers like they are his children. He can't be bothered with petty things like; good service, personal attention, and adequate timing for serving drinks. I wish I could recommend mijalisco to my friends, but I would be worried about the consistency of the service. It all depends on the mood of the staff. After a rather lengthy break from visiting due to poor experiences and food I went back tonight for dinner, wow what a mistake. The disgusting refried beans, old rice and rubber chicken tacos were barely edible. The reason I decided to offer more than one star was the kind staff. The food is terrible, and an insult to vibrant and flavorful Mexican cuisine and to top it off a complete waste of money. There's nothing like good Mexican food and this place has nothing like good Mexican food. To begin with the service was slow and we were 1 of 3 tables with people. I would hate to see the service of they were actually busy. I ordered one of their recommended/ signature dishes, the Vallarta, expecting an interesting and flavorful dish. What I got was some shrimp and chicken with onions covered in ketchup. My daughter got the fish fajitas and enjoyed them so maybe the secret is to get something so basic that it can't be screwed up. I love mi jalisco for the great margaritas and friendly staff. We always sit at the bar for dinner and enjoy the lively atmosphere and people watching. The food is pretty good and you always get chips and salsa to start. My favorite dish is the fajita quesadilla with shrimp. They have the best skinny margaritas I've had in the area. It was good pre-pandemic and the issue is probably related to that. Poor service and then acting like it wasn't a thing. Took everyone's drink order, but mine and started to walk away...ok then took everyone's meal order but mine. We have been eating at Mi Jalisco regularly since it opened its Milford location. The food and service are generally very reliable. We usually eat here once a week, so I would say we are regulars and have plenty of experience to judge their consistency. I will say that La Caretta's is one step above them on quality and service, but that said, Mi Jalisco offers an expansive menu, tasty food, and we love to come here. I did recently see that their front door has a hand-written sign that says they are closed Mondays now. I hope that's not true! However, their website and Facebook area not updated to match so I'm not sure. It's getting frustrating that all Restaurants in the Milford/Wilton area are closing Mondays. We go to dinner every Monday and that's starting to not be an option. Anyways, if you are looking for a decent Mexican restaurant in the area, they are definitely worth going to. read more

The food was okay. I had an early dinner at Mi Jalisco recently. This Mexican restaurant is located in the Lorden Plaza and used to be a local dark dive bar (Madison's Irish Pub and Shenanigan's before that). The place was remodeled and looks pretty good! The complementary chips and salsa were good, crispy warm corn tortilla chips with a mild tomato salsa poured from a bottle. For dinner, I ordered the Combination Dinner #10 ($9.50 plus tax): One chicken enchilada, one chicken burrito, and one tamale. Sides of rice and beans would've been an extra charge. The food arrived fairly quick to my table. The enchilada, burrito and tamale were all topped with a mild red sauce and covered with melted cheese, looking messy presentation-wise. The tamale and enchilada were decent, but the burrito lacked flavor and the flour wrap was not hot and very firm. The service here was good and prompt. I would return to Mi Jalisco if I happen to be in the area, but probably for lunch next time. read more
