I normally like chicken but was my least fave of the 3. - quesabirrias; Birria tacos w/ consommé + rice & beans So good, great flavor throughout, beef cooked perfectly. We were in Manchester for the evening & were craving some Mexican food for dinner. I'm so glad we found El Rincon Zacatecano, they have some bomb food! We arrived about an hour before closing & had no issues getting a table for two. Shortly after receiving utensils and the menus, we were given complimentary chips & salsa! The salsa was tasty & has a nice kick to it. I found it very additive to eat with the chips. We ended up ordering these dishes to try: - empanadas (chicken, beef, & pork) - quesabirrias; Birria tacos w/ consommé + rice & beans - Birria quesadilla w/ consommé + rice + salad OMG, everything tasted AMAZING! All of our dishes came PIPING hot, including the consommé dips for the Birria tacos and quesadilla. The quesabirrias were my favorite & star of the show for me. They were perfectly crispy, seasoned well, & I also loved how light (yet still flavorful) the consommé was! This came with rice & beans and let me tell you... I normally don't even eat refried beans but I couldn't help myself today because I find that refried beans can be too thick & sometimes burnt. This was not the case today though! Also paired super well with the rice & a little lime. The Birria quesadilla was yummy. It was loaded with lots of meat & cheese. Great portion sizes! For our appetizer, we ordered one of each empanada protein option they had: one chicken, one beef, and one pork. I didn't have a favorite empanada because honestly they were all really tasty! I really liked the vibe of this place, small but good music, not too loud. Very amazing service! Their enchiladas de pollo y chorizo really hit the spot! Such good filling, I did think the menu said queso fresco and if I'm not mistaken I didn't receive that. They were a bit spicy, but I really enjoy spicy food. The rice was fluffy and the beans had such good flavor. My drinks were good but the one that was supposed to be super spicy was on the sweater side. Mexican food! Finally! Yes! So my hometown is Zacatecas, Mexico and I couldn't believe there was a restaurant in New Hampshire named after my hometown! So of course I had to try it! The restaurant is super cute and quaint with a nice bar. They have a huge margarita menu which is overwhelming so I had to ask which one was the most popular one and got that one. The menu looked good but I was really craving tacos so I order some tacos Al Pastor which came with a side of beans and rice. My boyfriend got one of their meat platters which also looked good. The tacos were very good! The tortillas especially stood out because they tasted legit! The rice and beans also tasted authentic so I was very satisfied with my choice. My boyfriends meat dish was very tasty and he was kind enough to share a few bites. My margarita was huge and tasted very strong but I was ok with that. My friend and I met here for lunch. First time for each of us. Inside is very clean and wonderfully decorated! The server working was super friendly, fast, and helpful without being intrusive. We arrived as they opened at 11am. There is a good amount of comfortable seating inside. The chips and salsa are complimentary and house made! The salsa is a wee bit spicy- just enough to be enjoyable, not salty, and very fresh! The cups are unsalted which I love! We both drank water. Our server was excellent at keeping our glasses filled! I had the Veracruz plate which includes grilled shrimp, zucchini, summer squash, onions, mushrooms, rice, and black beans. You can specify a corn or flour tortilla. I don't recall what my friend ordered. We haven't seen each other in a bit and we're also hungry so chatting and eating causes me to forget to photograph her meal. She said it was great! Their chips are good but the salsa is boring. No spice!! Their "hot" house sauce, by request only, is terrible and they don't have any other hot sauces to choose from. Came here around an hour before closing on a Friday night, it was fully packed!! Seems like a popular place and was lively. I almost wished we had eaten in but bringing it to the hotel and ordering take out was what we needed after a long day. We ordered three fully meals, a couple guacs on the side, and a few empanadas. In total it cost 70$ with a tip. The beef empanada was delicious! The food was all good, not authentic Mexican food but definitely did the trick since we were so tired and hungry. The only reason I took off a star was because I had thought the food would automatically come with chips and salsa. Was a little disappointed when we opened the box, that we did have any chips especially for the cost and tip we left. We've now been here a multiple times, and it is consistently outstanding. The food is authentic, you couldn't get homemade family style Mexican food growing up in NH. We lived in NM a year and ate tons of Mexican, New Mexican, and Baja style foods all the time. This last time we came for Margaritas and a snack before my mom received an award across the street. The service is on point and friendly. So many restaurants have gone downhill the last 3 years, but many have excelled-great job! Another time we took my mother in law here on the way back from an airport run to pick us up. She loved the empanadas, and guacamole we do too, they also have excellent enchiladas, and the Al Pastor is delicious, and had them on nachos last time. I would say most everything is delicious. We decided to try this place because of the reviews and from the outside, we were unsure what it would be like. However, upon entering, we were welcomed into a cozy restaurant with beautiful decor and pleasant servers. We immediately were sat down with warm chips and fresh salsa. Having heard about the spicy salsa, I asked for it and it actually packed a punch! I have a pretty high spice tolerance and never feel the heat from most restaurants' spiciest salsas, but this one very pleasantly surprised me! Highly recommend if you like spicy food. The beans and the rice were so delicious. I kept going back for more even after getting full. The enchiladas were scrumptious as well. They were so accommodating for our vegetarian diet, and it was a delight to have more than cheese in the vegetarian enchiladas. The veggies inside were fresh and crunchy. In this case, El Rincon features the cuisine of Zacatecas, a state in Mexico whose culinary tradition I knew little about. The service was great and the food was very good. It felt like home cooking. However the restaurant was very noisy for only having 20 people in it at the time. Almost 7 years later, and 20 years of living in this state, I wanted to update this review as we prepare to move away. El Rincon has only continued to be amazing. It has been so wonderful seeing them grow and continue to provide amazing food with such a kind spirit. We also loved their new place Alas de Frida, but El Rincon will always be my first love :) The menu has expanded greatly since my original review, and unless there is a big event or something their service is very fast. There's nothing there that isn't good. Some standouts are the tacos, chimichangas (shrimp!), guac, queso (get the chorizo with it) and... well everything. I also have to call out the salsa. My wife and I enjoy cooking, and on nights when we want to prepare Mexican, we still go to El Rincon just to get the chips and salsa (and usually some guac and queso). I could drink their salsa... it is absolutely incredible. The drinks are also always good, and everyone is so friendly. I've never had a bad experience... heck, I've never had anything but wonderful experiences. We will miss you El Rincon - you are on our list to visit when we are in town :) read more

I'm writing this review to highlight two specific dishes here at El Rincon....I'd probably go 4/5 overall stars. But the empanadas and salsa specifically are an easy 5/5. First. The empanadas are what we keep coming back and back and back for. EXCELLENT. We get beef. They have cheese in them, red pepper flake, bell pepper, and various other seasonings. So good. I'd recommend them to anyone. They are freshly fried, hot and crunchy on the exterior. Second. The standard issue chips and salsa. The salsa is SO GOOD. It's extremely fresh, it's not overly acidic, and it's got perrrrfect heat. Today we just got chips, empanadas, and a kids burrito with steak.
