Went there for lunch and got the California Burrito and it was fabulous. The best ever!!!

I visited Mi Cerrito on a Monday around 4 pm. I must have walked into a different restaurant that all of these other people who loved this place. Upon sitting down I was presented with a basket of stale, cold, cardboard-tasting tortilla chips that were not made that day along with bottled salsa that was not made in the restaurant. My margarita on the rocks consisted of a full glass of ice with three sips of actual margarita. I ordered a chicken tostada and it came 5 minutes after ordering, a bad sign. The shell was old and stale, the chicken was shredded, but at least the lettuce and sour cream seemed fresh. So much for authentic Mexican food. Skip this restaurant and head to Taco Bell: you'll have the same quality of food. read more

We had read the reviews, that the food was good but the service was questionable. We arrived about 2:00pm on a Thursday. The place was just about deserted, due to the time. We were seated and given the traditional chips and salsa. The salsa was excellent, freshly homemade, not from a can or jar. Excellent. Our waitress came and took our order within a minute or so. She was very nice. We had our drinks, within about 2 minutes and our food came within 13 min. ( I was timing) The food was excellent!!! I had the fajitas and my wife had a combo platter. Perhaps other had bad experiences, or came at a rush hour, but our experience was great and we will be back!!! read more

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurant but the wait staff are never happy. I have been here three times now but only because of the food and not based on the employees. Our current waitress seems to be put out that we are even here. The food is superior though. read more

While the food was good the service not so much. It took awhile for our drink orders to be taken and then what seemed to be an extended period of time for the drinks to arrive. 3 of our four meals arrived and the 4th not until we were all almost done. We approached the staff on 2 occasions regarding the meal. (A kids meal consisting of French fries and a cheese quesadilla). When we approached the manger he did not seem overly concerned nor did he ever check in on us again. While it appears that most have had experiences here, we for sure will not be returning. read more

The fajitas are good but the quesadillas are not. They don't give you any veggies with it, just a tortilla with meat, cheese and sour cream. Very disappointing. read more

this is a good place for non- chain mexican. i don't know what the deal is with the guy who compaired it to taco bell. good wide menu and excellent service today. well worth checking out. I will be back! read more

We have been coming to this restaurant for years, but it has changed owners and we will never go back. My husband ordered a "jumbo" margarita and what the waiter brought out was the biggest drink I have ever seen. Turns out, on the bill we were charged $19.99 for that drink! On the menu, the jumbo is $8.49, the pitcher is $19.99. We did not order a pitcher, we ordered a jumbo. The menu has changed and the food isn't as good. I always ordered the Polo Locco which comes with 2 chicken breast, now it comes with one. We were seated right away, which should have been a clue, because we almost always had to wait for a table because they were always packed because everybody loves them! Now you can just walk in and get seated immediately...but don't let that excite you. The restaurant is not the same as it used to be. New owners equals bad restaurant. This place has great Mexican food. Their table side guacamole is awesome. I do have one pretty big issue with them though...one waiter definitely tried to skimp alcohol from mine and my husband's margarita, no joke. When I addressed him about it, he pretended that he did not understand what I was saying. We happened to get him again as a waiter the next time we were in, and he spoke and understood English perfectly. Seriously, not cool and I hope someone that works there sees this review. read more

We used to go to El Vaqueros, then we found this place. and OH MY GOSH~~~ they have been closed b/c of a family emergency for almost two weeks and we are going CRAZY!!!! we had to go to Vaqueros and what a let down..... this is the BEST place to have Mexican food, service is AWESOME they do get busy at times - I have to tell a "story" we were dining there and someone pressed on a table the wrong way and went down, it almost made me cry ALL of the waiters swarmed in SECONDS to first see if she was alright and to help her up then cleaned up her area - they didn't have to do it, it was her fault but they were HELPFUL AND EXCELLENT to her................ been back every week (sometimes twice a week) ever since. read more

From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome. There is a great vibe here and the food does not disappoint. Their table side guac is fantastic but I wished they would jazz up the plastic utility cart a bit with some fabric or something. It would look a lot better- do it up if you are going to offer this cool service that you don't get many places... It is delicious and a lot of fun to have them stand there and make it in front of you. The drinks are delicious (mojito, margaritas) and we have never had a bad meal there. The Owner is honestly one of the nicest owners I have met while dining in Delaware. I had a taco salad and it was very good. I sometimes forget about this location but still would rather go here then Vaqueros which is packed almost every night. I have a feeling if they had more accessible parking they would have more business. read more

Food was ok (could make it at home) but not consistent with pricing. Service was terrible, not friendly. We stated we wanted fajitas but must have misread this on the menu so we got something else. When we asked about it, the waitress spent a lot of time trying to prove us wrong and even went to get the menu to show us. It would have made more sense to state someting like, "sorry for the confusion" and change the order. She was frustrated that we didnt want what was made. Wow, then we ordered sopapillas and got 2 orders. The pic on the table described something diff than we got and showed $1.49... when the check came, we were charged $2.49 for 4 fried tortilla chips with whipped cream, cin&sugar and choc syrup. The sopapillas I always remember were dough pillows at all other Mexican places I have been. Overall, the service was the worst. Needless to say, I will not be back. Customer service is most important, if you dont have that, you lose paying customers that keep you in business. Smiling will go miles with sincerity. read more
