Another hidden gem in Delaware... I tend to be a little critical of Mexican restaurants because there are so many of them, and most are mediocre. Mi Cerrito is one of the good ones. The decor is nice and it is not too noisy. The service was really good. The food was awesome - the chips and salsa were good - their salsa actually had some kick to it. I had a burrito with rice and salad, which I really enjoyed. Wifie had the chori Pollo, which she absolutely loved. We found the place by accident but it was a great experience. read more

Since my previous review I have had 2 fabulous meals here. Once with the Black Garlic BBQ tacos and once with the Al Pastor tacos. Both were flavorful and full of meat. Adding to the excellence of my most recently visit was the attentive and upbeat service from Ninyo. He took care to make sure we had everything we asked for. Thank you! They have upgraded the menu and seem to have more servers now. As always the salsa and chips were tasty and fresh and the queso is delicious. I am still hesitant to try the seafood but I can now look forward to coming back. read more

Meh I ordered the chimichangas supreme from here, it come with 2 chimichangas filled with choice of shredded chicken or shredded beef. Topped with queso. Served with Mexican rice, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo. The rice beans and salad were good, flavorful and a decent portion. My wife and I popped into Mi Cerrito for dinner on a Monday based on the 4-star Yelp rating and the fact that most other restaurants in downtown Delaware are closed on Mondays. It was a good choice. This is a standard Mexican place - no southwest fusion or gourmet taco slider stuff here - but sometimes you just want normal food. The margaritas were huge, the chips and salsa were good, and our meals were tasty. We both did the "you pick two" dinners. I went with a chili relleno with ground beef, and a chicken enchilada, while my wife did a chicken taco and a cheese quesadilla, both with refried beans and rice. I was surprised by how good the ground beef tasted, and the enchilada was basic and perfect. The beans and rice were....well, beans and rice. Not life changing, but good. Although the place could use a refresh, it was clean and bright and full of people. Our waitress was very nice and very attentive, and we enjoyed the experience. read more

Love the kiwi watermelon margarita! Tried it at the taste of Delaware event and had to come back for more! I love when the chips and salsa are complimentary and bottomless! The cheese dip has a slight jalapeño flavor but it's not too spicy. The salsa is very cilantro forward, but I could eat a little. The best was combining the salsa and cheese for a new dip! Yum. Our party had 8 in it, & we arrived at 7:45 on a Saturday. The place was packed! Small dining area, too. We didn't wait too long though. Our server was attentive & helpful, too. A small restaurant in downtown Delaware. They are one of the few sit down eateries open on a Monday in downtown. It was busy, but we got seated right away, they offer bar seating available as well. I hear their drinks are tasty but did not try any for myself. The service was prompt and friendly. The chips came out warm and they gave salsa bowls to everyone at the table. Huge props to this in times of covid as sharing things is gross. The main meal entrees were meh however. I ordered a chili relleno and a chimichanga combo. The chimi was really small. The beef had excellent flavor and was covered in cheese. The relleno came out cold and was one of the spiciest rellenos I have ever had. I took two bites and couldn't finish it. The server asked about it, when I told her she did not offer to take any money off the bill. Thank goodness for the chips to help fill me up because just eating the small chimi would have definitely left me still feeling hungry. I am glad too have finally tried Mi Cerrito after all these years, but I will probably never end up back there. read more

I've had this place so many times through DoorDash and in restaurant. DoorDash is always fresh delicious and great portions! In restaurant is great staff is so friendly! They also have jumbo pitchers of margaritas that are delicious and a good price to split with some one. You can also order margaritas for takeout! The only thing wrong with this restaurant is that it is 3 hours from where I live...the margaritas are delicious (not overly sweet and pack a punch!) and the homemade salsa was tasteful. We all loved our meals--the vegetarian enchiladas (with spinach), the chorizo-pìna tacos, and the cuco's tacos locos. I have to say, too, that the refried beans were the best I have ever had; they added a spice that was incredible. Service was attentive and friendly, and the ambience comfortably casual. I came for a weeknight dinner and the wait was longer than expected, but it appeared they were short-staffed. We were seated at a booth and given real menus, since the scanned menu didn't seem to be working correctly. They served warm chips with salsa. Yum. My margarita was very good (rocks, no salt) and tasted fresh. My shrimp tacos were also very good. I liked the slaw topper, and the rice as a side. I would get them again. Let me start with- I do not eat salsa. It typically is too spicy for me and tastes like it came from a jar. When the server sat down the chips and salsa it looked different than other restaurants'; my husband dipped in and made a happy sound. I tried it- wow! It was homemade and tasted of summer. So, now I eat salsa but only Mi Cerrito's. I had the specialty avocado, onion, and cilantro tacos and substituted the rice for the black beans. So delicious (I drizzled the leftover salsa over them ). My husband was delighted that they had chorizo burritos and wondered out loud why he hadn't thought of it. His food was huge and he loved it. I was a little nervous when we realized they closed at 10 and we got there at 9:15 on Taco Tuesday but we were sat immediately. I went here over the holiday weekend with my parents when I was in town visiting. The service was fast and they were attentive. I ordered a frozen lime margarita which was wonderful! Then I got a chicken burrito with rice and beans as an entree, which was great as well. They brought complimentary chips and salsa out to us right away at the beginning of our meal and kept them filled the entire time.
