I visited Mi Sombrero because I wanted to try their buffet. The restaurant is adorable with vibrant, colorful, cheerful chairs. We chose a booth and enjoyed the warm chips and salsa. The buffet offered a small variety, which was disappointing, but I did enjoy creating my own tacos. Be aware that they charge a 3% fee for credit card use. We planned to pay cash so we asked them to waive the fee, but they suggested we simply leave a smaller tip. That was awkward. During the summer, there's an interesting outdoor market with vegetables and plants for sale which is a nice touch. I may not return for the buffet, but I am interested in trying some of the regular entrées in the future. read more

Fast service at Mi Sombrero. Not long after you are seated, they bring chips and salsa to your table. The chips were ok. The salsa is very good. I had the #79 tonight, which is called Choripollo. The Choripollo is chicken breast topped with chorizo. This dish is served with rice, beans and tortillas. The chicken and chorizo mix was excellent. I hate to give this place only three stars because the food is pretty good. The issue I have here is that the couple times I have eaten here, although the food is brought out quickly, the servers never spend more then a couple seconds at your table. Don't expect any recommendations on best dishes or pretty much any kind of interaction. To some people that is ok, but for me, I like to know what's the highly recommend dishes, why they recommend them and a little bit of conversation. read more

Went for lunch on Taco Tuesday. They have a buffet during lunch time but I wasn't wanting too much, so I opted for beef tacos. Tacos were filled with beef, lettuce and cheese. Tacos were crispy! We just recently moved to Ohio from Southern California. So to say the least, we are used to the very best Mexican food. However, we were pleasantly surprised by this place. I have to say the service was exceptional! Guacamole, good. Margarita, delicious. I had a big burrito with red sauce on top and steak inside. Pretty good. Quality food especially for an Ohio suburb. They have an expansive menu with really reasonable prices. Classic white queso. The guacamole side is very good and fresh. I order the cactus berry margarita and it's delicious. I've gotten the chicken enchiladas verdes and a quesadilla before. I prefer salsa verde on my enchiladas as opposed to roja, so it was nice to have that option. The enchiladas were tasty and filling. They, like almost all of the options, come with rice, beans, lettuce, pico, and sour cream on the side. For the quesadilla I ordered #34 Sunbury choice. It's a chicken quesadilla covered in white queso that comes with the usual sides. The rice and beans are very typical and expected. Overall this is a good place to sit down and enjoy some food. read more

Food's pretty good but had a few concerns last visit. Both orders were wrong, I added pineapple to the fajitas but they put pineapple in the quesadilla however the waiter corrected and again food was good. Didn't realize it but got charged for pico de gallo we didn't receive but my main concern, I handed the server cash and asked for change TWICE but never got my change so he helped himself to a nice tip. read more

We were up in Sunbury, and naturally needed lunch. Hubby found this place on Google. The outside is very non descript, in a strip mall, once you get inside, WOW!! So cute!! Love the decor. If I could give a 4.5 I would because the only grievance I have is that when I have to adjust an order, even a slight change, they have almost always gotten it wrong. HOWEVER, outside of that, this place is fantastic. If you want to go to a dine-in place that has a ton of character in its location but also in their staff (who is great!) then this is a great place to go. Their burritos are incredible and their margaritas are so yummy. I would just recommend dining in rather than dining out - the food tastes about the same, super yum! If I could leave zero stars I would! This place a significantly gone down hill over the years. Pick up orders have been consistently wrong the past several times we've gone. This last time was the last and final straw for us. I placed a very simple order of chicken nachos, one beef burrito and two ala cart chicken chimis. When my husband arrived home with the order and had nothing that resembled our order. I called the store and had to speak to 2 employees to explain the situation . I was told to keep that food and come back for our correct order. My husband drove 20 mins back to be told our first order was correct and the only thing that was missing was the nachos . This was a complete and utter LIE. I called back to speak to the manager , but was told he wouldn't be in until 5 the next day. Nice location next to Napa in Sunbury. Needed food and they had a buffet going on and decided to try it on. Everything was pretty much run of the mill. Nothing really stood out at all. Just solid Mexican food, but no real flare. The wait staff seemed more interested in getting ready to tear the buffet down than paying attention to anything else. First time here. It's a Tuesday evening around 830-9. Decent crowd for time and day which I took as a good sign. Very fun and brightly decorated restaurant. We waited for a few minutes at hostess station before being greeted and seated. Shown to our booth and both my gf and I have to brush all the food off the bench seats before we cold slide in and sit. Kinda gross. The table was just as dirty and sticky. I didn't want to put my arms on the table. The floor is littered with food scraps that the waiter just kicks as he walks by. At this point I am thinking coming here was a mistake and we should make a bee line to the door. But it was late and my gf was hungry, so it's time to man up and think the best of what may be lurking in the kitchen. Our waiter was terrible. I had to literally ask for everything. I asked for plates when our tortillas and salsa came. Then separately I asked for napkins. I had to separately ask for our silverware. I had to ask for a salsa refill. I had to ask him and someone else for a box for leftovers as they keep walking past. The bathroom was like a truck stop. Gross. The food was good...finally something positive! The tableside guacamole was fun to watch and super delicious. If I could just have gotten a refill on the tortillas it would have been even better. Over all, I don't know if it was just a bad night for our server and the cleaning staff but the food was good and average price. I wouldn't choose to return but if your girlfriend is getting hungry and you fear that crabbiness may ensue, this place will do in a pinch! read more
