    The Fajitas! Yummers!!
    K D.

We were headed to our normal spot for Mexican food when we noticed an inviting restaurant called Chapala. Not gonna lie, the restaurant is beautiful. While we rarely base a restaurant on the aesthetics, we were pleasantly surprised at the menu and more importantly the food quality itself. Upon getting to our seats we immediately ask the table next to us what they enjoyed. The fajitas were a huge hit and that is what we both ordered. Shrimp, beef, and chicken or all tender juicy and flavorful. The shrimp, especially, we're not overdone. That's a huge separator when it comes to fajitas. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. Do yourself a favor and make a beeline this little Oasis in the sleepy little town of Worthington, Ohio. You'll be glad you did!

1st time eating here. Very very good food and service was even better. Delicious place to have a nice Mexican meal. Atmosphere is great too!

Camarones de Chipotle and a Blackberry Mint Margarita

Everyone in my group of six really enjoyed their food and drinks. It was a bit loud, but vibes were good. Service was great! I ordered the Camerones Chipotle: Grilled shrimp cooked with mushrooms, sautéed with medium chipotle sauce. Served with Mexican rice, refried beans, and tortillas. The sauce tasted like yum yummy sauce, but was so delicious! I also had the Blackberry Mint signature margarita: Muddled fresh blackberries and mint, squeezed fruit, gold tequila. It tasted more like a mojito than a margarita, but it was tasty!

My second review here- Chapala is the best Mexican restaurant in Worthington! The service is always great as well as the food. I highly recommend the guacamole (traditional style- I haven't tried the dip).

I've had dine in a few times and the most recent time I had delivery. This time I had the avocadita lunch special. Basically a fried/ pressed taco stuffed with veggies and avocado. I had a side of beans and veggies. It was really good and I had some guacamole. Decent prices for lunch. Definitely would recommend.

Quaint neighborhood restaurant. Easy to find and parking outfront. Service was amazing and very attentive. The menu was bigger than I imagined, making it hard to decide when there were so many good options. The cheese dip was slightly spicy but perfectly dippable without being runny or too thick. The salsa had a nice onion note with a very fresh taste. Chips were hot and fresh. I got the steak fajitas. Huge portions, so come hungry. More vegetables than steak but non the less, delicious! Came with a side of rice and beans. Salad side with Pico, sour cream and lettece. Overall I enjoyed this restaurant. I don't live on this side of town but could see this being a neighborhood spot. Given that, the restaurant didn't wow me enough to drive here unless in the neighborhood.

Went here for my birthday dinner and had a great time. We were seated in a corner booth which was nice. Service was excellent and meals were very good. I ordered a margarita to start and it was very refreshing. For dinner I had veggie fajitas. It came with all the toppings and warm tortillas, beans and rice. Had a great blend of vegetables such as zucchini, red peppers green peppers and onions . Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals as well.

This a cute little Mexican place. Actually, I've been here twice with the first time being right after they opened in 2023.

Nice patio. A little pricey but good flavors. I was hoping for more out of the bacon wrapped shrimp and asparagus.

Never have I had that offered to me at any restaurant. His hustle, service and smile was appreciated. The nachos were really good. The marinated pork, cheese sauce, fresh chips, chunks of pineapple, sour cream and salsa verde just came together well. Bonus points for the cheese sauce. Knowing the power that online reviews can have and taking some experiences with a grain of salt…read morehere and there because sometimes you hit that one off day where maybe a place that's normally epic just doesn't quite have their stuff together, I find that I end up giving 5 stars in a range that goes from "really good" to "Michelin needs to stop in here (or already has)." This is definitely on the latter end of the spectrum. I popped in here tonight for a late dinner (830ish on a Saturday) to find the place relatively busy but with plenty of open seats. The decor was a nice mix of dark and light with the bright green accents plus a big screen TV cycling tropical getaways (I assume from places in Latin America). I was seated and tended to quickly by a hostess and server, respectively. I got my order in for a coconut mojito and a chicharron arepa right away. My mojito came shortly thereafter with my arepa not long after that. The mojito, as you can see, was garnished with a generous amount of shredded coconut on top and was heavier and creamier than a normal mojito, lighter on the mint flavor and pushing closer to a piña colada than a mojito. All in all though, still quite a refreshing drink after a hot and humid day. The arepa though was really the star of the show. The flavors and textures and everything about it were just mind-blowing. The handmade cheese, the incredibly seasoned and cooked pork, and the crispy arepa were all just *BOOM*. The avocado had a little bit of surface darkness on the one end that could have been polished up a little bit but not the end of the world. One I finished with these, I waited patiently for a while for my server to come back but alas I had to pop up to the bar to get my caipirinha. This version was slightly sweeter than some versions I've had and I don't mind sweet, but just be aware for those who may be considering it. Eventually, my server came back and apologized for being gone so long as she was conversing with her boss. Like I said... grain of salt. Aside from a minor inconvenience of having to walk 10 feet to the bar myself, this place absolutely blew me away and I will absolutely come back if I ever find myself in town again. Bonus points for having gluten and allergen callouts on their normal menu as well!

We asked to be moved to the patio and were moved right away but I'm not sure your choice online actually matters. I ordered chips and queso (chips and salsa is complimentary!), a skinny margarita, and the burrito grande. The chips are hot, fresh, and delicious! The queso had amazing flavor, I do wish it was slightly thicker but that may just be personal preference. The skinny margarita was the perfect amount of lime, sweetness, and just strong enough on the tequila. And the burrito grande was... MASSIVE! Like twice the size of my head lol. But it was so good!!! The carnitas had great flavor, the potatoes were crispy, and we even asked for hot sauce and were given what looked like two different house made sauces that were soooo good. The burrito is also a steal at $13 as it lasted me for 3 meals! Can't wait for it to be warm again, I'll definitely be coming back! The patio space is perfect for the warmer weather!

The place was mostly empty at this time, but slowly filled as it approached dinner time, signifying it is popular in the area. I would say I enjoyed the visit overall. We told the waiter, who asked us immediately upon arrival if we wanted drinks, that we needed a few minutes to look things over. It took him 10-15 minutes to return to us to take drink orders, which was crazy considering the restaurant was empty. He also barely checked on us throughout the evening, as we had to signal to someone else that we were out of chips. Like I said, I would return here for food and drinks as they were great, but the slow and inattentive service would make me choosy with the times of day I would go and who I would go with.

My brother and I both ordered the shrimp taco dinner ($15.95) that came with a choice of side. The tacos were good but could have been much better as there was just way too much salsa. All we could taste was salsa and it was a little sweet and oddly enough, it had broccoli in it. If they added one more shrimp and cut back to just a tablespoon of salsa on each taco, they would have given it a much more balanced flavor and texture profile. This was a bunt, not a grand slam... El Vaqueros are all pretty much the same, and this one is no different. Could have been 4 stars but ended up as 3.
