Let me start by saying that maybe the work was OK but only OK. I had 4 tires mounted and balanced…read more Not a big deal. Have had it done a hundred times in the past and about five times at this station. Having a tire mounted and balanced normally requires that the mounted tire be removed, unmounted and the new one mounted, balanced and then the wheel with new tire are reinstalled on the car. Cost should be $20.00 plus $5.00 to get rid of the old tire so a set will run you about $100.00. Not here and it was probably my fault for not asking if the price had been inflated by 50% over what they have charged in the past before I waited the 2 hours and 45 minutes for the work to be completed. There was also a small nail in one of the tires that was removed but instead of placing a patch on the inside of the tire as is the best and preferred way of making the repair, especially when the tire is already off of the car, it hole was plugged. Placing the plug takes about 5 minutes but this one must have been special because I was charged $20.00 for it. Up to this last visit, I was pretty pleased with the service that I received at this station. It seems that they have changed technicians and increased their prices, at least on tire/wheel service, to the point that I'm going to try the service station just up the street the next time. One thing you must do is get the price of everything up front especially at Upton Getty (BP).
