I highly recommend reaching out to Joe if you need car help. I have a BMW M550 and have worked with Joe twice now. He and his team do great work, set clear expectations, work in a timely fashion and charge you a fraction of the price that you will see elsewhere. Definitely the only place I will be taking my BMW for any future issues. 10/10 experience. read more

Absolute hacks...and biggest liar I've ever met. **** Update 4/27/26 I had forgotten that my wife had a mini dash cam in the car showing front/rear. I will be posting a youtube video about this shop later this week. Will post the link here. It proves all that I've claimed (and they denied) This review, although long, may be helpful to non savvy automotive people. First and foremost, I was a dealer technician for over 20 years mostly for German and Swedish car dealers. That was after being diesel mechanic in the military for over 8 years. Since then, I've gotten into other things so my time has been limited. We also own 8 vehicles so I sometimes sublet some repairs, such as my wifes Mercedes ML350 just last week with Joe's automotive. This is the diesel version which has been amazing for 7 years. Never once has it failed. I'm pretty sure it has (never) even had a check engine light on since we've owned it. Anyway, it needed some fairly simple maintenance stuff and took it to Joe's. The two main things neded: new motor mounts and serpentine belt along with an oil change. I supplied the parts from a very reputable online supply house (FCP Euro) that Joe agreed to install by phone days before. This was the first time I've ever used this shop. I agreed to bring it in on Saturday (4/11/26) he said more than once that he'd only be there until "exactly 12" - and he knew we were coming. We got there at 11:42 and the place was locked up tighter than a drum, rude. I ended up writing everything down again on the key drop envelope and left it. Days later, he calls back trying to sell me that it's all set. It was close to his closing time so I said we'd be there in the morning. Luckily, I called in the morning before leaving. Joe then explains that our vehicle is "barely running" and in limp mode. I thought he was kidding at first. He seemed totally stumped as to what was wrong which was concerning to say the least. Hours later, he calls and trys to sell me a sensor that should NEVER have been touched for my requested work, I thought, (nonsense) part was fine. Then explains that I have an aluminum turbo intake pipe that is also broken, and leaking air. A pipe THEY needed to REMOVE to access the serpentine belt. Joe then tells me that it was "broken previously" and talked in circles. He went on and on how these things can happen "out of nowhere" not knowing I was a mechanic as well, at the time. He then complained about how much time he had "wasted" on this vehicle and reminded me again, he wanted it gone. Hours later he called and assured me that it was now "fixed" and we should come soon. It was once again, almost shop closing time so I explained that we'd have to come the following late morning which he didn't seem happy about. I arrived there without any bad attitude, none. I'm well aware that things break, and I wanted to go over everything in person. I simplywanted to "see" what happened and pay the bill. However, in my experience, mechanics are like some cops.... they don't like to have their SAY "questioned" even when wrong. SO, we pop the hood on my wifes vehicle and my jaw nearly dropped (some pictures attached) I've NEVER seen such hack work in my entire life. Not only was it beyond shoddy work, it said: I don't care about your vehicle, or your safety and I'm going to lie to your face and get "huffy" when you don't buy the bs. He ran a BOLT that was flopping around (threaded to nothing) jammed between live fuel lines to support the turbo intake that THEY broke. I immediately said.... wow! I've never seen something like this, it's not even safe. I still WAS NOT nasty about it. Joe however went ON and ON about how they didn't do it, I can't prove it, it's old (every excuse you can imagine) Just sat behind the desk sounding like Joe Pesci denying everything. ** However! I just recently replaced the fuel and air filters on this same vehicle. As my usual practice, I took pictures of the engine so everything goes back to factory specs. In these couple of pictures it shows my turbo intake, NOT BROKEN which I showed to Joe.... he yet still continued to DENY, because... he's a liar. Funny thing is, if they told me it broke, I wouldn't have cared. While still in the office, waiting to pay the BILL that he didn't have prepared, his wife threatened to "Call da' POLICE" I actually laughed and offered to do the same. As I went outside and started the Mercedes, I immediatly noticed that the radio, climate control not working as well as "SOS" flashing on the dash. None of which were EVER an issue. Of course, Joe knew nothing about that on an 89 degree day, after his "road test" I poked my head in the door and asked about it just prior to leaving. Within 6-7 miles driving home, it lost power and we needed to have it towed. Instead of fixing his horrid work myself, I'm having it towed to Mercedes of Springfield and will file suit of all expenses. Joe did everything except set the vehicle on fire. read more

I found Joe when he was at a different location and he fix the convertible top on my 2007 BMW 650i and knew exactly what the problem was. Next I took it to him for rear shocks. He and his crew did a great job and I believe pays more attention to detail than the BMW dealership. I will take all my cars to him in the future. I am going in for front struts on my BMW and I have every confidence that the results will be superior. I will keep you folks posted. read more

This is the only man in Massachusetts I can trust with my Audi. The dealers lie, and up charge. Joe is honest and responsive and kind. Clearly knows what he is doing, and all of his work he has done for me appears to be holding up. My car just lost pressure in the 2nd cylinder and I will be bringing it to him today to see if it's worth fixing or totaled. He came recommended to me over a year ago by a bunch of coworkers who lovvvvve cars, so I know they trust him as well, they have also never had any issues. So multiply my review times 3 at least Wish me luck with my car read more

Very honest and did excellent work for fraction of cost BMW Shrewsbury wanted on BMW X5. I will definitely be back!!!

If I could give this place a negative score, I would. I went there as a referral from another shop for a weird misfire issue. They fixed it with no issue. I later on went there to get my front brakes done. Pads, rotors, sensors, everything needed for my Mercedes S550, which is NOT cheap at all. Nothing is for this car. Job got done but continued squealing. Went back, they switched the rotors. BUT it continued squealing. Went back. After dropping my car off for the entire day, with an appointment, I got back to the shop after work and STILL wasn't even looked at. I don't even remember what the did to "fix it" but it still squealed when braking. I told myself I was done with this shop. Just over a year later, I had grinding when braking. Had my new mechanic check it out. He said "no way did they give you new rotors". I've never needed brakes done so quickly. If you made it to the end, I strongly suggest never going to this shop. They stole my money for parts they never installed. I'm not a noob with cars. I've owned junk boxes, all the way up to super cars. I feel bad for anyone who goes here thinking they have the best interests in the customer. read more

We've been a customer of Joe's for a few years and started doing business after being recommended by our relatives. Joe is the best technician I've met and will continue to be our family's service provider. read more

Joe is a car genius! I was driving up the the Cape for a family vacation when the electrical system in my BMW X5 started blinking and warned me that further driving was not possible. While waiting for a tow from AAA, I contacted Joe's Auto Service based on our location and google reviews. Valerie, who answered the phone, suggested that I text Joe directly, due to some timing factors. He called me immediately and let me know that he would look at it right away and see if he could get us back on the road. Long story short (too late already, I know!), Joe got it fixed, staying until after 7 pm to get us back on the road to our vacation. He gave me a price that was more than fair (who's going to argue about that?) and taught me a lot about my car as he discovered and fixed what turned out to be a very unusual and complicated issue, mainly to what a previous owner installed. In the meantime. Valerie hosted us in the office like company. She chatted with us and offered a charging cord, water, soda, and coffee. Together they made a horrible situation a lot more pleasant! I wish I could move this shop closer to my home - I wouldn't buy or service another car without letting Joe look at it first, and hanging out with Valerie while I did. read more

I wanted to provide an update on the major service I had done at Joe's on my BMW 650i. I purchased the car, and it failed inspection due to smoke from bad OE valve seals. Joe rebuilt the heads (including new improved valve seals) and the car has never run so good! That was 2 years ago, and it has been running great ever since. Great guy and knows BMW's like no one I've seen. read more

Just had my car fixed up at Joe's couldn't be happier! They were fair, honest and really helpful. They fixed what I needed and didn't add on a bunch of extras. Really really highly recommend them for service on your vehicle! They walked me through everything the did, showed me before and after pictures of the repair work and didn't jerk me around like other auto places I have been to! If you need your car repaired I can't say enough good about these guys! As I said their prices are fair and they did an excellent job! Will be using them for any future problems! read more

My first Benz and the first time in the shop for a coolant leak. Joe diagnosed the issue and course of action within minutes. Appt was setup for service which was top notch in quality and fairness in pricing. One part did arrive damaged but that isn't on Joe and he came up with an alternate solution until the new part arrives. No waiting room, no coffee, no frills at all but he'll let you hop on the wifi at the shop if need be. He's also a genuinely nice, honest person who will small talk with you and might even take you to lunch! Nobody else is touching my Benz except Joe and his mechanic. read more

I cannot give him enough stars!!!! Joe exemplifies what a good mechanic should be.. not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he explains exactly whats going on, what he needs to do, and finds the best deals he can to get it done. If you live within 2 hours of him, i'd highly recommend bringing your cars here without a second thought, i'd give him 12 stars if i could. I have a 2003 BMW 525i that had overheating issues since I bought it over a year ago and multiple shops made it worse with shoddy head gasket, radiator, fan, and other work. Needless to say, I'd been having a hell of a time trying to find a reliable, reasonable, foreign / import / BMW mechanic. I found Joe a few months ago and he's helped with getting my baby a reasonable new engine (and warrantied second one), radiator, water pump, alternator, sensors, gaskets and a number of other issues major and minor. All at the best prices I could wish for. The light goes on, i call him, and he lets me know right away not just what a diagnostic tool tells him, but whats the cause after he analyzes and looks at other possibilities. So much time and effort, he wanted to get my car happy as much as i did, this is his passion. The shop isn't the prettiest when you get there, but don't be fooled, its not whats on the outside that counts at all, a diamond in the rough, lol. He's a very hard working, exceptional mechanic who checks extra clamps and extra seals while he's in there to try and minimize future issues. He goes the extra mile, holds a high standard for his work, and I cannot speak high enough about him. Joe's the best. read more

My son brought his old and over the hill car there. Joe bent over backwards to help get it up and running. He was truthful and up front about the car's needs and condition and worked on getting it back on the road. read more

When searching for a mechanic for my 2005 Mercedes SUV I decided to use Joe as he had great reviews. I was having an issue with my power steering pump leaking fluid and making a loud sound when driving. Joe got me in quickly and was friendly having his mechanic take a look at the car. At first look the shop is unkept and dirty, almost confusing with no waiting area. As a daughter of a mechanic that did not deter me. I was told that one of my power steering lines was leaking and bad and it would fix my issue. This would cost me about $300, which is quite a bit cheaper than a new pump would. Once I picked it up after the lines had been changed I was concerned there was still a loud noise. I called Joe back letting him know about the noise. He agreed to take a look at it again and we arranged for me to come the next afternoon. Joe told me his mechanic would meet me at the shop. I left work 2 hours early. When I arrived at the shop I texted Joe. I waited for 1 hour past the time I was to be met without the mechanic showing up and with all of my texts going unanswered. Angry I went home, having missed work, driving a car that was still making a loud noise. It wasn't until 5:30 that night that Joe texted me claiming his phone had died and he was out of town. He practically begged me to bring it again but at that point I was done. The entire situation was handled poorly. I took my car to another shop where the power steering pump was replaced professionally and fully like it should have been my Joes auto, rather than cutting corners. read more

Joe is awesome. Reasonable prices and good service! Highly recommend them every time.

Joe, What can I say but FANTASTIC..2004 545 I had the dreaded secondary air injection issue! Joe fixed it and more, car runs better than ever!!! He is an expert in a world of mediocrity!!!!! read more

Lack of communication is my main reason for this poor review not his actual skills as a mechanic, he should have told me about the cost for storing my vehicle and also have it stated at his buisiness which caused a rather large bill that I had to pay out of pocket . Relating to fixing my car he said my engine was not a recall when it turned out it was through other sources. I felt like he took advantage of me and my situation and that's why I wanted to post my experience. read more

Called Joe's a few weeks ago about a noise my BMW 335 was making. I explained it was making a whistling sound from the heater. He knew exactly what it was. I called him back yesterday (of which he answered the phone saying my name) to see if I could stop by. He told me today was fine. I got there around 10:30 and was out by 10:55 with the repair done. I was very impressed with his customer service and knowledge. So happy I found this place. Dealership is way overpriced and would much rather support a small business. I don't trust anyone with my car but Joe changed my mind about that. Thank you so much read more

Top notch BMW service about half the price of the stealership , I mean dealership . Was dreading getting a brake job for my BMW after I have been repeatedly taken to the cleaners from foreign car dealership service departments in the area . No names ... cough ( Wagner , Bernardi ) lol . The problem was every time I found a independent mechanic that could service a luxury German car for a reasonable price , there would always be problems after ( didn't reset service lights , didn't have the proper tools , diagnostic equipment etc) and I always somehow found my way back to the big guys to get the problems corrected . Well not Joe . He has all the same equipment the dealers have , he specializes in high end cars , and is extremely reasonable when it comes to pricing . I think I paid the same amount on spark plugs at the dealership as I did with him for OEM pads , rotors , sensors , brake flush and an oil change . So happy I found a reliable BMW mechanic in the area . Figured the least I could do was give him a good review on here . ( he has tons of great feedback on bimmershops.com ) So if your googling BMW repair in Worcester look no further . You found it . read more

Unbelievable mechanic. This man is an expert, and will give you a great deal to boot. I heard about Joe through yelp. I had only two reviews to go off but I was impressed by the quality of the reviews so I decided to give Joe a call. I spoke to him and told him that I was thinking about buying a BMW. I wanted him to give it a good checkup before I purchased it from another dealer. He fit me in right away and told me to come on by and he would look it over with me. I brought it in a couple of hours later, no problem, and he gave it a full inspection. He went over the entire car with me, all the ins and outs, and even took it for a test drive with me to test the brakes, etc. I can't emphasize how knowledgeable Joe is. He understands cars, and more importantly, what makes them last. Especially BMW's. He helped me out big time by pointing out some minor problems that the dealership had "failed" to mention. I took the car back and ended up getting a large amount of cash back to sweeten deal. The dealership offered to fix the problem with their mechanic, but I already knew who I was going to. I brought my new car back the same day and Joe took care of me,all for a price that was much much much more affordable than a BMW Dealership. Joe earned my trust very quickly. I live about an hour away, but I would happily drive 3 hours to have Joe work on my BMW for any of its future needs. I recommend him to anyone looking for an expert who will go the extra mile for you and your car. P.S. Car alarm installation, window tinting, and audio systems done there as well. I'll be back soon. read more
