This restaurant follows the same concept as Chipotle and Subway - choose your base (bowl, pita, etc), choose protein(s), then other toppings and sauces. There are a lot of really good and different options for it to be pretty healthy (or not - totally your choice!) I went with a spring mix base, a little bit of brown rice too. Then it was chicken and a whole bunch of various veggie type toppings like cucumber salad, roasted vegetables, Turkish salad, olives, pickled onions, and crunchy chickpeas. I did get some of the balsamic vinaigrette on the side but didn't end up needing to even use it. The only thing I would have liked was some roasted riced cauliflower! I have to say I enjoyed the food I had delivered there. The set up of the menu was a little different than I have ever experienced but I am not complaining. Oddly enough, I wanted bottled water and they did not have it. However, they gave me San Pellegrino in the place of it. Talk about over delivering! I was very happy. I know it is not a big thing but it definitely impressed me. I did not know what lamb kefta was and thought it was chucked meat and it seemed more like spiced ground lamb cooked on a skewer. *CAUTION: extremely addicting! In just one week, I've been here five times. Imagine this place as a glorified, Mediterranean, flavorful Chipotle (very similar to CAVA). I usually get the chicken shawarma bowl with mixed greens, cilantro hummus, Turkish salad, roasted corn, spicy feta, onions, diced cucumbers, and topped off with tzatziki sauce. I have only gotten the bowl, but it's a pretty good deal because you also get half a pita with it. I've had the chicken kebab and steak shawarma too, but I personally prefer the chicken shawarma meat. It's spicy and flavorful...the steak shawarma is also good, but I think the chicken is juicier. If you like spice and can handle some heat, I would say definitely check out the shawarma! My husband also opts for the bowl, he's tried both lambs (kefta and shredded) & the chicken kebab. He likes the lamb kefta because it's juicier. Oh man this place is so good! I would not have known how much I loved Mediterranean food had it not been for an event here. I got the bowel with mixed greens, white basmati rice, and chicken, with cucumbers, spicy humus, harissa dip, roasted corn, tomatoes, and a pita. I also had one if their fresh made juices. The food was awesome! The chicken was very moist and seasoned well and it had a little spicy kick to it. The spicy humus was delicious and it paired well with chicken. The harissa was a seasoned spicy chili dip and that dip was so good, I could eat it on anything. Ok so Mezeh is HANDS down my favorite lunch spot in Hampton. One because it's healthy so there's literally no guilt there & two because it's delicious. I typically order a bowl with greens, rice, whichever protein. I've tried the steak, falafel, chicken, and lamb - all are BOMB. The Turkish salad with feta cheese, carrots, sunflower seeds and the lemon garlic dressing. Each order comes with a half pita which is always warm. Their baklava and cookies are good as well and so is their kale Cucumber drinks. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the pricing is inconsistent. Sometimes I get military discount and sometimes I don't and one of the servers said I have to be in uniform to receive it and I've received it without my uniform on. So I definitely think they should get their pricing on the same page amongst all the cashiers but honestly it doesn't stop me from coming. The regular sized bowl is more than enough food. I've even got the kids bowl and felt satisfied (and it's only $5 but you only get 1 protein and 4 toppings). I definitely recommend Mezeh for your next lunch break. read more

I came here for an event to try them before their grand opening. It's a Mediterranean build-your-own-meal style restaurant. I like the concept of being able to pick and choose your flavor combinations, but I think it would've been awesome to have some suggestions since there was so much to choose from. The chicken shawarma was fantastic, but the shredded lamb didn't taste very quality. I really like the crunchiness after adding the crunchy chickpeas and tortilla strips. The staff was helpful and friendly. They have a good selection of juices to choose from if you dont want soda or water. The portion is very generous and definitely worth the price. I think it's a good bite for lunch or dinner, but I personally like a regular pre-made menu when it comes to Mediterranean. However, I do think the build-your-own-meal concept is great and you should definitely try it for yourself. read more

I was so excited when I found out Mezeh was coming to the PTC. It's different than the other fast casual restaurants in the area and brings some much needed diversity to the food scene in Hampton. The food did not disappoint! I had a wrap with the chicken shawarma and my husband has a bowl, also with chicken shawarma. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. They didn't have any tzatziki sauce at the time we went and I was super bummed about that because it's one of my favorite sauces. The pop machine also was not working and the area outside is still under construction which is why I gave 4, not 5 stars. Overall, I highly recommend the food and atmosphere at Mezeh. Clean and delicious!!! Hubby and I tried it out on recommendation from a friend... we loved it and brought some family back for Sunday lunch the following week. For our initial visit we came during the week and it was quiet. We had no issues whatsoever and I would rate that experience a 5. The second visit: we got there right before a rush and the line was out the door. They only had one person working on the line so it took my party of 4 approximately 15 mins to get through the line, even being at the front (only two people ahead of us). Minor annoyance: My BIL noticed the menu said we could choose up to 2 protein options and we were told the extra option would be an additional charge, which is not specified on the menu. The music was upbeat, but just a slightly too loud because I was yelling to be heard for my order requests and I'm not soft spoken at all. They have a little patio area which I'm hoping they put out furniture for patrons to sit in the warmer weather. Deducted a star because we needed to-go containers and my husband waited a significant amount of time after going to the counter to ask. He eventually gave up, and a second person in our group went and waited by the register until they got containers. In the end we waited longer for our to-go containers than we had taken time to eat. I thought this was counterproductive for the business; personally, if I had a business limited seating and a line out the door, I would prefer to get those customers just sitting at the tables up and out so more customers can sit and stay. It might be a good idea to have containers closer to the register so the cashier can give them versus having to wait for a line person to have a break in their service. Or maybe even have a location where customers can just grab and bag it on their own. Unrelated to my visit: I noticed they have an app because some locations do online orders; that option would be great for this location. Update: we have returned a few time since my review.
