I love this place. I remember the last time I grabbed some Mediterranean carry out from a Mezeh or similar spot on my way home from DC and being sad when it was all gone and I was back to having no similar options in the 757. That is the case no more! I've been visiting here since they opened, and I've never had a bad bowl. I always get a bowl. Sometimes with rice and greens, sometimes just greens. The pros: One bowl is always 2 meals. Or a meal and a snack. Always. The food is always fresh. Always. That goes for meat and veggies. The variety is wonderful. If you like tasting lots of small bites and many different flavors in concert and contrast like I do, this place is heaven. For vegetarians or those who eat a plant based diet with meat as a complement but not the focus, also heaven. The pure variety! The colors! Raw, grilled, and pickled. The time it would take to prepare all of these things at home. The fact that you get to request every. Single. Veggie. for the same. price. My favorite thing that I never get a bowl without: that. spicy. feta. I also always get the Turkish salad and tabbouleh as a veggie base. The spicy hummus is always good. I like the pickled beets but didn't get them this time. I got the picked carrots, roasted corn, and just about everything else. Mix of white and brown rice. Greens - just arugula this time (they also have spinach and a mix). The only thing I didn't like the flavor of was the roasted veggies. They had a weird, woodsy taste. I thought it was just the asparagus at first, but it was the squash also and the broccoli especially. But that's part of the joy of having so many flavors on a plate. The tasting is the joy. With small amounts of so many things not liking one is minor. So many dressings. I've tried them all. This may be the first time I got only one: the tzatziki pictured. They have a nice variety of protein choices. I seldom eat red meat and have never been able to get over the mental hurdle of trying lamb (those poor babies) but it looked so good I almost tried it. I've had the falafel here before but it's not a favorite. I went with the veggie kefta (they've been dry before but were awesome this time). Sadly, as much as I love the chickens I can't stop eating them for long. I had a mini crisis over which type to get - I settled for a sample of the shawarma (spicy) bc I like it and just wanted a taste, but got the kebab (mild) in my bowl bc it has veggies, including fat, juicy cherry tomatoes mixed in. If you do not like herbs, spices, plant based or heavy on the veggie food and/or are unaccustomed to a high fiber diet, this place may twist your tummy. Otherwise, I'll say it again: heaven. HANDS DOWN the best fast/casual spot in Hampton Roads! I seriously LOVE this place and there is nothing like it that will compare. For those who have not been here think Chipotle but with Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food. You can pick between a bowl or pita then the fun begins. There are different protein options to include falafel, shredded lamb, beef kofta (meatballs, and chicken shawarma. They are seriously all delicious but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the lamb. You then go down the line and get to add all kinds of yummy salads, veggies, rices, and other toppings to your bowl or wrap. A few of my favorites are the cous cous, roasted eggplant, olive salad, grilled veggies, and the roasted carrots. You can also choose from different sauces but I generally get my go to tzatziki. This place has been on my radar for months. The hubs and I finished picking up supplies at target when he suggested Mezeh for lunch. I excitedly agreed and walked on over. Due to Covid, the eatery held a few seating options inside and out. The ordering process reminds me of Chipotle of choosing the meal of having a bowl or wrap before the add-ons. The base is where Mezeh scores extra points. They have 7 options which include kale, arugula, mixed greens, spinach, seasonal grain, white and brown basmati rice. (Can choose up to two) The next step was choosing a protein. I opted for the chicken kebab while the hubs had chicken schwarma. If your a vegan they do offer falaffel:) For those not into chicken there's shredded lamb, lamb kefta, and steak schwarma. You can add one more protein for an additional charge of $1.50. The toppings are extensive! There's about 30 and it's a mix of hummus, dips, chickpeas, corn, salads, pickled veggies, grilled and marinated vegetables with Mediterranean seasoning and etc. I believe Mezeh allows us up to 9-10 choices. I could be wrong, but trust me when I say your bowl will be filling and hefty in weight. As the ordering process is concluding there is a sauce option. It's hard to pick two out of the 9 offered, but I ended with tzatzki and cilantro vinaigrette. The hubs chose spicy mango:) I was thrilled that they give a piece of their freshly baked pita to each bowl ordered. They have an app that is easy to navigate for ordering and collecting points, so I highly recommend downloading that. My bowl base was mixed greens and brown rice. The protein of chicken kebab was the right path to go. The flavorings was unique and bold as they say. It was tender and juicy. I don't recall all my topping choices, but the caramalized eggplant, Turkish salad, Lebanese tabbouleh, pickled onions, and baba ganoush is a must topping;) The food is all natural, GMO free, fresh, and made in house! I truly love eating here. I hope they bring one closer to me but until then, I guess I'll keep crossing the M/M. What do I love about this place? The quality of the food and vast array of options you can create to get exactly what you want. I'll be upfront, I have yet to completely nail my "absolute" favorite, but I have yet to have a bad meal in my pursuit. The quality of the ingredients is high and the flavor is just through the roof! Lately, the customer service had been ok to better, but I have to give a big thank you to the individual (sorry didn't get name) who worked on 9.26 around 4pm. We wanted to sit outside but it had just rained. I asked for some extra napkins or a rag that I could use to wipe down the tables so we could sit. This individual well above and beyond by coming outside, wiping down the tables, chairs, and just took exceptional care of us. I was very elated and his small gesture made me think (and experience) that management here is really working to improve their customer service. I love Mezeh! And I don't feel as guilty eating here because I think it's healthy lol. I always build my own bowl with the white basmati rice, chicken shawarma, whatever toppings I want, and then top it off with tazatziki and spicy mango sauce (it's not that spicy). There's so many options you can choose from! The portion is big enough for me to eat half and then save the other half for lunch the next day. The bowl also comes with a side of pita bread. I usually order ahead online so I can just pick it up - there has been times in the past where my order wasn't ready when it said it would be which would be my only complaint. Decided to give this place a try since I was looking for a healthier option for lunch. Walking into the establishment it was pretty empty so I was greeted as soon as I enter. Since this was my first time coming here I was looking for a menu. They only had one menu that was on the counter and the menu itself look like it seen better days. The girl behind the counter did explain to me how it went. You decided what meal you want and I choose the bowl and started with brown rice. Then you choose your protein which I decided to get the spicy lamb. The lamb wasn't spicy at all to me and although it had good seasoning it was very dry and burnt. Next, you choose your topping which I went with Turkish salad, pickled onions and carrots and roasted corn. All the topping were fresh but I didn't like how they left the pickling spices still in the onions. No one wants to bite into pepper corn pieces so I suggest they strain it. So after your topping selection you pick what sauce you want and I went with the harissa on the side. All and all this restaurant has the same concept of chipotle. read more

Probably now in in my Top 3 of places to eat in Hampton. Here's what I get EVERY TIME without fail: bowl to go, double arugula, white rice, steak & lamb kefka, taboulleh, cilantro hummus, spicy feta and tzatziki sauce. I mix it all up and BOOM, deliciousness in a bowl. This really could be split into two meals, which is what normally happens to me. Came here with Husband who would not normally entertain this type of food, but I'm considering the Mediterranean Diet so I figured this Mediterranean restaurant might be an interesting place to get inspired. It's a similar set up to Chipotle where you go down the line telling the person which items to add to your bowl or wrap. I got the kid's bowl which was more than enough for a meal. I chose mixed greens, brown rice, and a combo of chicken kebab and veggie kefta. There were so many toppings to add; I tried the hummus, corn, tomato salad, and beets. The sauces confused me so I asked for two on the side. As it turned out, none was needed. The lemon garlic was similar to a Caesar dressing with a ton of kick. I don't like spicy so I'm glad I didn't put it on everthing. The tahini sauce was thin and fairly plain tasting so it was not needed either. All ingredients were fresh and delicious. I'm definitely interested in coming back to try other things. Husband ordered a shredded lamb wrap which wasn't as spicy as he expected, but it was flavorful. He added spinach, white rice, Turkish salad (which is kind of like Pico de gallo), corn, and spicy mango sauce. He wasn't head over heels, but he ate it and said he'd be willing to come back to try something else. That alone is impressive. He got the mango house drink which was very watery, but I liked it (I often drink my juices with a 7:3 water to juice ratio). The outdoor seating was great though the tables needed wiped. Wow!! I wish this place was here a long time ago. It's straight up the best option for a quick healthier, clean, not fast food, bowl type thing. There is a large variety of items to get and make your dish specifically how you want it. I get the brown rice and greens, falafel, beans, and basically all the veggie toppings with whatever kind of spreads/hummus I'm feelings. Turns out delish af every time. The pita chips are also great, so is the little pita pocket they give you! Stuff it and enjoy. They offer a military discount too which is cool. I really appreciate the quality of this place. Probably the best Greek/Mediterranean food in HR. SUPER fresh food. I recommend the lamb or the spicy chicken. The flat bread wrap is my favorite selection. You can stuff all kind of food in there. Their yogurt sauce is top tier, they have multiple choices for fresh hummus and all of the veggies and couscous are never a let down. Make sure you get their watermelon drink. Update 11/25/19 Out to Mezeh today! We've been here a lot and it's always on point. Fresh ingredients, helpful staff, truly filling options. Try a cookie too next time you're here. I ordered from Mezeh through Uber Eats so my review is strictly about the food. There was a special BOGO deal with the bowls that you create so I ordered 2 of those... They were absolutely delicious and extremely filling. I actually have leftovers to eat at a later time bc I received so much of an assortment. As other reviews have said, Mezeh is a lot like a Mediterranean version of Chipotle or Subway bc the customer gets to choose their rice and/or greens, type(s) of protein, toppings, and sauce(s). Since I'm a vegetarian, I chose falafel as my protein and it did not disappoint; I ordered a side of chicken kabob for my mom and she couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. The pita bread was warm, soft, and fluffy... You can tell that it's made fresh every day and that's something pretty remarkable to see a restaurant doing these days. I was particularly fond of the pearl couscous, corn salsa, and seasonal vegetables bc they all brought a level of excitement to me with each flavorful bite. I added hummus as a topping and received a container on the side that I assume is the hummus; the chickpeas are still solid so I'm assuming someone forgot to crush them... Even in their solid state, they're still delicious and I'm pleasantly surprised by that bc I usually don't enjoy the taste of solid chickpeas. All in all, the food was delicious and I highly recommend Mezeh to anyone craving Mediterranean food that isn't too expensive, tastes great, gives generous portions, and allows you to choose exactly what your meal consist of. I ordered my food online to pickup at 5:02 , I arrived at 5:15and I didn't even end up leaving with my food until 6:15!!!!I thought ordering online to pickup would be quicker but I guess not! The staff seemed really lost and unorganized. I wasn't the only one waiting forever for an online order either, there was 2 more people in front of me. I came here for an event to try them before their grand opening. It's a Mediterranean build-your-own-meal style restaurant. I like the concept of being able to pick and choose your flavor combinations, but I think it would've been awesome to have some suggestions since there was so much to choose from. The chicken shawarma was fantastic, but the shredded lamb didn't taste very quality. I really like the crunchiness after adding the crunchy chickpeas and tortilla strips. The staff was helpful and friendly. They have a good selection of juices to choose from if you dont want soda or water. The portion is very generous and definitely worth the price. I think it's a good bite for lunch or dinner, but I personally like a regular pre-made menu when it comes to Mediterranean. Not the same quality of service that I have come to expect from this establishment to include getting your money's worth. The staff is very delightful and they are very kind. Major brownie points. They have an awesome selection of flavorful non-sugary drinks for the guest as well as your regular fountain beverages as well. You are literally LUCKY if your order is correct. Multiple times in a row now I have ordered food and been given food I'm allergic to instead repeatedly. You can't contact anyone at the store either for a refund or to get a different order. If you are going to order from here and actually want to get anything you order, go inside.
