I visited Mexology for my sister's bachelorette dinner and it was such a nice experience! Usually when places are advertised all over social media it doesn't turn out to be so good so I was surprised. We made a reservation a week in advance. Keep in mind that you have to provide your credit card either through email or over the phone to secure your reservation. When we came it was raining so we weren't able to sit outside which is where we booked to sit. We ended up sitting somewhere that didn't have enough space for us and the table behind us so the manager simply moved us to a more spacious area. The inside was just as nice as the outside. Luckily it stopped raining and they dried off the outdoor area and seated us there. The music was very lively. They played a mix of old and new school reggaeton with a live DJ and music videos on a big screen. The waiter was very welcoming and explained the pre fixe menu ($55 pp not including tip). They bring out all the appetizers first, then 1 entree of our choosing, and multiple desserts on a platter. I really like the family style since our party was so large. They provided us with guacamole, ceviche, and empanadas. I didn't have time to take pictures before everyone devoured it (sorry)! For my entree, I had the "8 oz Churrasco Al Café" It was sooo delicious! It was filled with so much flavor and I was happy it came with potatoes so it wasn't too heavy. The dessert was also really good. I was a big fan of the churros. The staff were all really helpful and I would come back!

Went here for a brunch/lunch on a Saturday for my friend's birthday. Here are my thoughts... Atmosphere: I was a bit dead at the time we went but we enjoyed ourselves Decor: On the inside it's very nicely decorated; it's a sophisticated glam. On the outside it's more of a Tulum vibe with wooden tables and rattan chairs Music: they played a good mix. Latin, Afrobeats, and pop Food: We were there during brunch hours and on the menu, you can only choose from the brunch, appetizer, and dessert menus. There were not many choices on the brunch menu. We got guac and chips which were great. I got the red snapper and ate the whole plate clean. We also ordered churros but they were raw inside and had aluminum foil on one of them; they were comped. Drinks: I got the Mamita. It tastes good but a little sweet Good for: brunch, dinner Service: Service was pretty fast and they were super on it.

3.5 stars for ok food but good drinks! Came for an evening event and had a live band in house! The restaurant was full and later in the night had a DJ. Drinks were extensive and average priced. They are made well and are tasty! The food is also extensive and was good but not amazing. Had the pork tacos. Overall, I'd come back again and recommend to try at least once!

Came here to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday. We made reservations due to being a big party. The decor was lovey and there was band at night. Since we were a big party we did the prefix dinner menu. Shared appetizers of ceviche, empanadas, guacamole & chips. Main course i chose the barbacoa del pueblo included brisket, rice, beans and tortillas. The main course was delicious and worth the wait. At the end we had shared desserts of churros, lava cake, & cheesecake. The desserts i didn't like, had no flavor what so ever. For an experience we tried the Mezcal and Chapulines which you eat the grasshopper than take a shot. The grasshopper wasn't too bad just tasted salty. Overall great experience.

Made a reservation for 730 pm on a Friday night to come and try out this new restaurant i seen last week while in the area. Note: website requires a credit card to confirm your reservation. This particular section of Elizabeth is packed with restaurants and lounges, so parking is a hassle. I'm grateful to have found a parking on the street and avoid the $10 (I think) to park across the street. I was greeted quickly and nicely by the hostess and shown to my table as my other party was already waiting. I was provided the menu upon being seated. I perused the menu and decided to try a specialty cocktail with tequila (the names me, but something flame). We ordered chips and guacamole while we waited for our drinks. My other party ordered a sangria but didn't like it as it tasted like it contained tequila and returned it for another drink. Food- guacamole and chips..... guacamole tasted freshly made and was presented well. Cafe marinated steak - was good, well seasoned. The potatoes and Brussel sprouts needed something extra. Red snapper was a filet and was pretty good. Drinks- were just okay. The passionfruit mojito and the flaming drink both left a lot to be desired and was not strong enough. Ambiance- TOP Notch! Woodsy, bohemian Tulum vibes Restaurant is pretty big with two recognizable bar areas. Beautiful velvety green chairs and booth seating. There was a DJ there that was playing mostly Spanish music, but did change it up to some top 100 tunes as the night went progressed. We were offered hookah to purchase but decline.

This review is exclusively for the drinks/bar area. I stopped in with my partner after dinner from a Colombian restaurant since we were waiting to pick people up from the airport. This spot is a total gem in the downtown area of Elizabeth!! You feel like you are in the middle of Tulum, Mexico! Beautiful artwork and decor throughout the restaurant and bar area. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the interior design. While the prices are New York City prices, the quality of the drinks do dictate the high prices. They drinks were well made and strong and every detail is put into making the drinks. I would come back to try out the other drinks once I refill my wallet. I do think that may be a hurdle for some folks but I love seeing business development for these different and fun swanky places.

New spot packing lots of good vibes, food and drinks! Plenty of seating arraignments, food options, drinks and hookah as well. They have an indoor and outdoor. It's sort of small and the dance floor is not big at all. It does have a fun atmosphere even though the DJ music is a bit loud... it's due to the small space, loud speakers. Service was on point and server was always around.

Food was amazing! Hookah was great! The atmosphere was beautiful. It's an open covered patio. They also have an inside area too. Dj was good our server was very accommodating and helpful with recommendations. We will definitely be back

Honestly, I REALLY wanted to like this place more. My friends and I visited Mexology for brunch on a Saturday. We were so excited because we hadn't gone out together in a long time. Unfortunately, the vibe was ruined by two particular servers. Our main server started off attentive and slowly seemed to avoid our table. After many attempts to reach our own server we were able to reach a different one to see if she could locate our original one and we were just met with an attitude and eye rolling. We could not believe it! Overall the food and drinks were okay, but not worth dealing with that kind of service!

I came across this newly opened restaurant in Elizabeth on IG. As soon as you walk in, you feel the upscale ambiance. -Esthetics were 5/5 , seemed to be Tulum inspired. You can tell they paid close attention to details such as the rustic/bohemian decor yet embracing the beauty of nature (driftwood furniture and light fixtures). This is a sister restaurant to the Garden. -They were setting up for a live band possibly to play Mariachi music. -Juan, our server, was professional and very attentive. -The drink menu was nicely laid out but did not deliver in terms of flavor and I would consider it sub par. I would say this is the part of my experience that needed the most work. -The steak and ceviche were delicious. They should consider specialty nights crafted to build engagement.

With pain in my heart I will NEVER step foot in this place again. Tonight made me feel more undervalued & discriminated then I have in years. I take my sobriety VERY seriously & the fact that I was asked to leave because they needed my table is so unbelievably RUDE. The question wasn't was I going to consume more, but rather was I going to consumed more liquor. Sobriety comes with being way more observant and I know that no other group was asked if they were going to consume more if not they "need" the table for other people. I was made to feel so small!! And before anyone asks "what are you doing at a restaurant/lounge?" Just because I'm sober doesn't mean I don't like to have fun every now and then & go dancing. I honestly had to hold my tears back because sobriety is something I've struggled with and to be judged this way is so incredibly hurtful. Also, I'd like to point out that our bill (my girl & I) was well over $100 + tip. If you're trying to get/stay sober I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Diana was our server, and I can't say enough about her service! 10 out of 10. She went above and beyond to ensure we did not need anything and were enjoying ourselves. Her food recommendations were outstanding! The tuna steak was out of this world! I'd like to see more options on the brunch menu, though. This is why we ordered appetizers to hold us until 4 pm (when the dinner menu starts). The music volume made it difficult to have a conversation, lol But we managed,

    $40+ for two drinks!

Two gin and tonic. You figure it out. Never again. Plus they included the tip without telling me beforehand. I'm a generous tipper but let me decide.

Our server was very pleasant, but unfortunately didn't speak English at all so when my friend asked to pack up her food, they got rid of it instead. They gave back the charge receipt, but without the credit card and it took forever to get them back to the table. Overall, I liked it, but the end of our experience was not great. Quick update: my friend reached out to the manager because after throwing her away the offered to make her another but only sent her home with 2 ribs and the peppers without the chorizo that she didn't even touch our the veggies and plantains. We were stupid for not checking first for sure. She ate two of the three ribs so I don't even know where they got the second rib that they gave her. I'm assuming they remade them. The manager asked that she text instead because he didn't speak English and wanted to be able to use Google translate I'm bilingual so I understand the struggle, but not being able to speak to anyone including the manager in english is completely unacceptable, in my opinion. I really love this place and will always support local Businesses but after bringing in new patrons and having this experience I would not put my name on a recommendation for them again.

Let me start by saying both of these meals were AMAZING. Like I was shocked. The shrimp/beef we so tender and nicely flavored. The burrito itself really blended well with all of the ingredients (I.e. rice, pico, lettuce, etc.). The quesadilla was also just soooooo goood. The shredded chicken had a great flavor that I just wasn't expecting -- but in a good way lol That said, this business is new and there are little quirks that I hope will be ironed out soon. My burrito was terriblyyyyy wrapped-- I could barely eat it in one piece. As the employee was folding it I wanted to scream "noo baby no!" But he seemed so overwhelmed that I just left it alone. A floor manager (I think) was floating around and I could tell that she isn't typically rude but she clearly was drowning. Even when I smiled at her and said "thank you" she was so irritated with her coworker that she rolled her eyes. Again, I would call this out and say that she was being intentionally rude to the customers but literally anybody that was speaking to her was getting this reaction. So hopefully she does a better job of adjusting to the fast paced environment because it's a fast-food chain after all lol I will probably be back here, definitely for that burrito but also with the hopes that the service is a bit better. There was a manager (seemed to be the head of this location) that was very welcoming and helped us with our order. The cashier was also really friendly. Again, there was just a lot going on behind the counter so between numerous employees learning and several customers wanting food-- the organization just needs to improve.
