Before I delve into the "lunch" portion of the review. Let me say, my bf had breakfast here with his colleagues and said the food was delicious. We went here for lunch and the majority of the food was not very tasty. Both of our dishes were covered in grease. One of the dishes said it came with a salad, but there was very little lettuce at all on the plate. When we asked for a bowl of plain lettuce, it came to our table about 10 minutes later. However, the waitress was very nice. If I return, it will be for breakfast only. read more

First time here and first time in Temple, Texas. Heard that this place is good! Ordered a burrito/ beans. Looking forward to it.

Good food but bad service. :( such a shame. Had to literally flag down help just to order. Would have ordered another drink too if I had a chance. And the fajitas I ordered came with two of the smallest tortillas ever. What am I supposed to do with that? By the time we ate them, the food was cold when we finally got to talk to someone to ask for more. They are leaving money on the table. Such a shame. read more

So I've been driving up and down the loop running errands during our move. This place caught my eye. I love Taqueria's! I've been reading the two reviews on this place, and looked like a place I should visit. We went on Sunday, during brunch time. This place is more of a traditional sit down restaurant. Not a smash and grab taqueria. They brought out the salsa. It was warm and a smokey chipotle style salsa. Not really my style, but I'm sure others would like it. I'll give it this, it does pack some heat. I got the green chllie enchiladas. They were filled with pulled chicken, which were pretty good. The beans had a chicken stock flavor, and the rice was delicious as well. I would definitely put this on my rotation of Temple restaurants when I am in town. read more

Great breakfast! Wife had tacos al carbon I had the muchacada con huevo, hot and fresh. We loved our food, comfortable atmosphere and great staff! read more

I really like this place but leaving the one star to hopefully get managements attention. I don't understand how a mexican restaurant would ever charge extra for limes and cilantro. Both items are staples and needed by most mexican when making tacos. If I order a dish that is designed for making tacos (carne asada) the dish should automatically come with onions, cilantro, limes and salsa. A customer should never have to pay extra for those items. read more

Awesome breakfast!! This is my go to hang over joint in Temple, TX. The chilaquiles with chicken and green salsa are my favorite. For dinner the mixed fajita grill with beef, chicken and shrimp is excellent. I love their warm red chili salsa and their green salsa as well. read more

We eat here several times a month. Currently I am stuck on the shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. I add guacamole, cilantro, onions, and salsa verde. Add a side of charro beans and I am all set for about 10 WW points. Muy bueno! read more

This is hands down the worst Mexican good I've ever had. Four of us at the table, all ordered different food and nobody liked anything they ate. Even the refried beans were inedible. We had great service and our waitresses were awesome but this food is horrific. One star for the hard working waitresses and four lost stars for food you couldn't pay me to eat again. read more

The food is always decent but man, the service is awful. I thought the first time was a fluke, next two times even worse. The last time I ate here the server took 15 minutes (on a slow night) to come to our table. Took our order and we never saw him again until we asked for our check TWICE. Our order was wrong (he didn't bring our order), he never came to the table to ask if the order was fine, we had to practically beg for more chips and I asked for a certain dip on two occasions, once being from the manager, and NEVER got it. When we asked for our check he stood talking to another table for 10 minutes before we asked again when he finally grabbed it. Left a $1 tip (and somehow still felt bad about that), and we watched him LAUGH ABOUT IT. Would NOT recommend to anyone. read more

Ok, the food was a little greasy...ok I thought for sure I felt at least one major artery clog up...but the flavor was good and I got it through the drive thru. I got a FREE (my favorite 4 letter word) drink while I waited so I wouldn't evaporate in the heat. I'll eat here again if I'm in a pinch for time and need a Mexican fix! read more

Great little place we found while on vacation, almost with the hour and a half don't just to go eat. I normally wouldn't eat guacamole but they made it very good and I did eat most of the bowl. read more

I just don't get it. This place has some generally meh food. There are much better places to get Mexican food in Temple. Frankly, right next door, Little Mexico is a much better place with fresher food and better margaritas. And just a short drive to Belton means you'll be eating at Jalisco's, which is multiple orders of magnitude better than this place and cheaper and quieter with faster service. They're lucky to be next to the hospital and mall. read more

The margaritas were good, not the best, but the best I've had in Temple so far. I am in quest mode for the perfect margarita. I am a vegetarian so there were few options for me other than the cheese enchiladas, guacamole, salsa, and chips. Speaking of guacamole, now that is what sold me on the place. Our server Brittany (pretty young woman with a vivid red streak in her hair) made the guacamole right at our table. Fresh and o so good! Being the only veghead at the table, the others ordered flesh and enjoyed it tremendously. I was told that the Tortilla Soup is wonderful and according to the grandmonsters the burgers and fries are awesome. read more

Took 2 hours to get quesadillas and the food was to worth the wait they only had one chief with a booked house I am not going there again

Double check your bank account if you use a credit card. We tipped the bartender at the bar 20% in cash and wrote "0" on the tip line of our receipt. She added an additional $5 tip any way. Manager made it seem like we were lying and wanted to see a bank statement as proof. Manager was not there when we took the bank statement. A server called him but he just instructed her to give us $5. Even though the manager had our phone number he never called with an apology or explanation as to why it happenen. Won't go there ever again. read more

There are a million of these in central Texas, all part of the same regional chain. This is by far the worst of the bunch. I don't know why, but the ingredients aren't as fresh, and food not made with the same care as the others. Anything with chicken is pretty bad because it's frozen rubery chunk stuff with no taste and bad texture. And the service at this location is usually really slow. Some of the food is OK, but stick with beef tacos and enchiladas and you'll survive. The green jalapeno sauce is the best thing about this place. You may have to ask for it. For a much better meal and friendlier service go to either of the Belton locations. Exact same menu, but better quality. read more

very sad and disappointing, it took them 30 min to notice we had sat down. they asked if we had a server, which to we replied "no". and it still took another 10 min to get someone to take our drink order. now I've been a server before and at time I understand it gets hectic which is understandable, but when you barely have people dinning In and you are still taking forever? what is really the excuse. finally we order food, the server mentioned to me that their flour tortillas are "homemade" now I come from a household we're homemade means made from scratch! when we got out food, the rice had absolutely no flavor, the flour tortillas were NOT homemade and my carne guisada was very very salty. honestly, not worth going to this place AT ALL! read more

I've been here several times. There food is good. Usually they have service. Today the service was not good. It took a while for drinks to be ordered. After ordering my drink and food, I sat on my table for over 40 mins waiting. By the time I got up and left, it was 50 mins. I did not get my food. read more

Mexicano Grill 2 - Mexican Near Me - Temple, Texas

This place has a nice entrance and a nice style inside.... But got sat at a booth and the booth seat and table were VERY Wobbly the gauc dip tasted like dirt the sweet tea is definitely not sweet the quesadilla was wrong and everyone else just about finished their food by the time the quesadillas camw back out we only got one straw for our drinks the waitress took all but one menu and it sat in the way till we got our meals the beef enchiladas were good but the texture of the meat felt like dirt. One friend said his food was "decent" his girlfriend just said "ehh" and the other said his was "good but the beans were dry It took the waitress 15 to 20 mins to bring the check to the table I have to give it one star it won't let me post the review without it read more

Will never go back , everything I ordered was wrong, when I checked my bank statement was overcharged by more than 50$ I called and was told I would have to come in to review the videos with the manager. When I arrived the employees told me the manager was to busy to come up and he didn't speak English anyways and they informed me that a 45$ tip was added to my check, then discovered that other items were added to my bill as well but they refuse to fix the ticket or watch the videos and only wanted to give me the 45$ back in a gift card... not happy read more

Food is always great. Service is wonderful. We just moved to this area and it is our new favorite spot to eat on date night. Servings are large but you can take it home for later. The salsa and dip are also fantastic. This is our new place to eat and grab a drink. read more

The service stinks. My husband, me, and my brother just had dinner here. We will NOT be coming back. First when we got our meal, the server had one hand on the plate and the other on his private area. Then one person had fajitas, they were given 2 tortillas. He ordered corn tortillas with 2 flour on the side. He also ordered french fries, which he got at the end of the meal, along with the tortillas. Another person had a #7 which comes with a fajita, and was asked would you like flour or corn tortillas? But got none. Even though we asked several times, and got no explanation. Those french fries looked so good so finally I got up and went to the kitchen to get catsup before they were stone cold. A lesson learned. You can make it look nice on the outside, but that has nothing to do with what's happening on the inside. read more

Worst experience. Arrived to the restaurant and the hostess sat us at a booth. 15 min passed and no one came to our table. I went to the hostess and asked if someone could please take our order. Hostess had to take our food and drink order. Waitress finally decided to make an appearance with out food. Mind you our drinks were already empty, she didn't even attempt to take care of that. On top of all that she had a terrible attitude and our food was extremely cold!!! Wish I could give less than one star. Do not recommend it!! read more

The food was yummy. We had a fajita torta, a carne guisada taco, and cheese enchiladas and everything was good. We also had queso for our appetizers and that was really good. Our waitress was very sweet her name was Marisol. Overall it was a great experience. Great quick service, and great food. read more

Terrible customer service! We ordered lunch and was charged for the dinner. We had been there about an hour waiting for my mother in law because she got lost the waiter turned the order in 5 minutes late. The manager argued! There was a chip in her water. The food is ok, not anything great definitely not worth the stress. We paid the whole bill and told them we would not be back the manager said ok. read more

This has bern our favorite Mexican restaurant for years. One reason is they served a delicious creamy green sauce with tortilla chips. The last five times we've been there they haven't had any of the green sauce. This is a VERY big disappointment. In fact, we walked out the last time because we went there specifically for that sauce. Please bring it back...we hate the bean sauce you have been serving with chips. If we want re-fried. beans, we will order them. read more

The waitress was more than helpful! When we sat down, our table smelled as if was just wiped down with an old dirty rag! It smelled really bad! Well when i ordered my food, my eggs were not cooked! It looked as if they cracked the egg and left it for 5seconds and threw it on the plate! I love over easy, but damn not like that! However I let the waitress know and she took the plate up! The waitress gives me the check and they still charged me for the meal! So the waitress tells me to let them know at the cashier and it would be taken care of! That's not what happened! The manager was rude and extremely disrespectful! She does not need to be in a management position, and the way she was dressed was extremely unprofessional ! Who wears see through clothing and stilettos as a manager in a public place! read more

I went here a few days ago for a date and it was outstanding. Amazing portion sizes and good prices. I can't remember the actual name of the dish, but it was #30, with shrimp, beef, chicken, vegetables all cooked in a cast iron pot and served to you like that with tortillas and it was simply the best Mexican food I've had in the Killeen / Temple area. Service wasn't top notch, but the food makes it all worth it. Ohh, and they have huge cups that the straws disappear in. read more

My first two times I went for dinner were on Wednesdays for the fajita special. No issues. Yesterday I went for supper and the bowl of chips the waitress brought out had little tiny pieces of chips on the top. What are these people thinking??? I think it's a health code violation to reuse food from a previous meal, including red or green dip for the chips. I have a suspicion that they recycle this too. I'll find another place to spend my hard earned money. read more

Had a great breakfast this morning! Improved interior and exterior only a plus. Food and staff is always great!

This is the best place in Temple for Mexican food- REAL, authentic Mexican food. Getting take out from here is great, and the atmosphere for dining in is fantastic also! They always have super friendly staff and they accomadate large parties well. Their prices are very reasonable and their queso is great! My husband and I usually eat beef fajitas and they are outstanding. They also have a full bar, awesome drink specials, and sometimes they have live music. They're in a great location and you can tell they are a great business by just driving by- it's always busy! read more

This place was a clean nice little restaurant. The prices were descent. The food was not all that great. Also when I went to pay I stood there 5-10 minutes waiting for cashier to take my money while she was talking to another employee who said she just got off work. Anyone in a business should always put customers first. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. We waited for an hour and a half, for 2 burritos and 2 tacos. We ended up leaving because we never got them. Told the hostess/manager about the situation and she said "okay" walked in a circle around the restaurant and went back to the front desk. Multiple people that walked in at least 20-30 minutes after us received their food and left. I understand things happen, but come on people. It would be different if this was the first time something like this happened here. Plus they still charged us for one coffee, and one sweet tea. After checking out, all the manager had to say was, "sorry". Then she walked away. read more

8-7-16: . ohhhhh!!!! I do love this place!!! Our next visit was back to the normal Wonderful!!! ------------ 8-10 year old playoff team in THE BAR. We had boys hanging over our booth backs--some hollering out at waitresses, some just staring at us. Their adults sat at a central table with little to no notice of the boys or their behavior. We placed our refill drink order before they arrived. About 15 minutes later my date approached the bartender and picked up my melted margarita. Why didn't someone step up and help our waiter? Why would a 8-10 baseball team and their younger siblings be seated in THE BAR? Especially not seated with their supervising adults? read more

Don't listen to any of the other reviews except the positive ones! The food is AMAZING! This is my second review ever and I had to share because it's that good! I had the tacos al carbon and the word amazing almost doesn't do justice! This place will be a must the next time I come through Temple. The service was excellent! read more

We came for brunch. The food came quickly and we did not wait to be seated. The chilaquiles were great, but the rest of the meal was mediocre. The refried beans tasted like they came from a can. The green salsa was good and spicy. read more
