I had been wanting to try this place for a while after Kenji posted on IG about it. While driving by after running errands and noticing it was pretty empty, my girlfriend and I decided to try it. I will echo other reviewers that the ordering system is somewhat convoluted. It seems that the restaurant's preferred method of having you order is online, yet to do that you need to sign up and create an account. Why do we need to create an account to simply order food? Once you get thru that hurdle, ordering is fairly simple, and you'll pick up your food on the side of the truck. The food itself looks unassuming, but it's very good - and filling! The fries are crispy and full of flavor, and the burrito bowl was excellent and filling! My girlfriend enjoyed her bibimbowl. Prices are around $15ish per dish but they are definitely portion-generous. We'll be back.

3.5 stars An interesting Mexican-Korean fusion food truck ... with some traditional Mexican food (tacos) and some traditional Korean food (bibimbap). Of course, the best things are the ones the blend the two ... We tried the vampire tacos and the bibim bowl with Kalbi asada -- both were good. Best were the Korean toppings and salsas on top of the tacos, things like kimchi pico de gallo and pickled daikon. The staff was friendly and helpful, but I found the ordering process cumbersome. They ask you to order via a QR code, which then prompts you to enter information - but it didn't work -- and apparently, we weren't alone in having this problem - we then had to order verbally, and have them manually tap the credit card. The whole ordering setup was really quite poor - they should do something different. The food truck shares an eating area (sheltered picnic tables and the like) with Project 9 Brewing -- a good collaboration (good for both).

Located right outside project 9 brewing. Great Mexican/korean fusion place. We tried the bibimbowl and kogi fries with kalbi. Both were pretty good and came with a bunch of little sides of Kimchi and pickled veggies and salsa. Friends got the burritos which looked amazing too. Perfect food to pair with some beers!

I would often drive by this food truck on the way home from work. Luckily some friends also saw it and wanted to try it out. I loved the idea of Mexican and Korean fusion. I got the Kimchi Gringa tacos. The tacos had carmelized kimchi in it and then I chose some pork with Korean flavoring. You can choose your own toppings. It was nice flavoring! The seating area had benches under a covering which was really nice on the warm summer day. The only downside is that you have to order specifically through a QR code. There's no option to order through a real person. I really think they should have that as an option. Other than that a great find and I already know what I'm getting next time.

new-ish food truck in front of project 9 brewing doesn't disappoint and in fact tickles the tastebuds with some great mash ups! since i was taking my order to go, i went for the korrito burrito with the carnitas mushrooms. there's instructions to submit order via the qr code and while i waited i took advantage of some of the great options like soy based marinated jalapeños and onions, carrots and jalapeños in escabeche, kimchee cabbage, pico de gallo, some pretty tasty looking sauces like gochuchang and habanero cream, etc. i may have been the first order of the day, a little shy of noon on a sunny saturday. two workers were there and one who efficiently began creating my burrito once i submitted my order via my phone. i caught his attention and asked that he cut my burrito in half as they were preparing it which he nodded he would do. it became clear when he handed me the burrito in the bag, however, that he hadn't understood my ask so i made an executive decision and switched to spanish, asking that he cut it in half and wrap each half separately so i could eat one half immediately and one later. once i explained what i wanted in spanish, there was zero problem getting it done but know you may need patience and spanish to communicate with them. the taste was great and the absolute mash up of kimchee and rice and beans works so damn well together! i added habanero cream and it was delightfully spicy and filling along with the other ingredients. there's street parking in the general vicinity but coming off the i5 lake city way exit, you're going to need to take that right onto 80th or you'll blaze right by the corner. i bet a lot of neighborhood foot traffic happens later in the day. i didn't stay to eat but the food was memorable enough to make me want to detour again when i'm in the area to try some tacos or one of their fusion bowls also on the menu. i love the concept of these two cuisines cuddling up together in tortillas, large or small. it's genius!

The good: The condiment bar + Gringa Taco The bad: The Korrito The ugly: The ordering experience Taking Kenji's very high recommendation, I decided to try this place out on my night off from baby duties. I was about 30 seconds away from leaving disappointed, but was able to finally complete my order. But first, the condiment bar was far and away the star of the show. Typically, you wouldn't think a burrito truck's condiment bar would be anything to write home about, but this was on another level. It was almost like a self-serve kiosk of side dishes you would find at a Korean restaurant. There was cucumber salad, picked daikon, pickled cabbage, jalapenos, kimchi pico de gallo, and about 4 different kinds of sauces. I sampled each of them. They were all very delicious! The Kimchi Gringa Taco was as tasty as Kenji said it was. The caramelized kimchi and cheese was the perfect balance to the savory Al Pastor. My only gripe: the meat was a little burnt to my taste. I would have preferred it with a little less char. Because the meat was so charred, I ended up throwing out a bit of it in an effort to avoid the carcinogens. I also ordered the Korrito, which wasn't very good. It was a bit flavorless and lacked in variety. I definitely did not taste the caramelized kimchi or pickled cabbage. It tasted more like a just plain rice wrapped in a tortilla. It's harsh, I know, but I thought the burrito you'd get Chipotle would probably have been better. The ordering experience was so uniquely terrible that I almost went home without ordering. It makes no sense to have a virtual "line", where only one person can place an order at a time. The whole point of ordering online is to streamline the ordering process. So if I have to sit there refreshing the page for 15 minutes until I am "first" in line, that completely defeats the purpose of ordering online. It's one thing to say, "we have a lot of orders, so your food might take a while", but it's a whole other thing to say "we have a lot of orders, so please refresh the page until you can order." My advice: remove the queue and take the orders. Having a notice "food will be ready in X minutes" is sufficient warning to customers if you are busy. There is no reason to have 2 virtual queues. All-in-all, it was a decent experience. If you were to ask me, I think Kenji was a bit too nice in recommending Mexican Seoul. I may come back one day, but this definitely will not be my go-to burrito truck anytime soon.

My favorite to ask for is the adobada burrito and you can ask for grilled pineapples added to it. Also tried the Gallos rojos and it's decent! They have a large selection of salsas, and I think the best are the verde and habanero. One downside though is that wait times can be long if you go on a busy evening since they are short staffed. The best thing to do is order ahead online, but even if you do that sometimes you will have to wait once you get there depending on how busy it is. There's also a decent space for seating with heat warmers if you go during the winter.

I ordered the El Bombero and while the flavors were good, the burrito was practically falling apart from the start and was nearly impossible to eat like a normal burrito. By the end, it felt more like I was eating the fillings with a fork than an actual burrito. Taste-wise, it was still enjoyable, but the overall eating experience was messy and a bit disappointing. There is some covered seating next to the truck, which was nice, and I appreciated how convenient the online ordering process was. My food was ready right when I arrived, and they were generous with the sauces as well. I'd still be willing to come back for the tacos, but I'd probably skip the burrito next time.

The service was just as impressive, friendly and attentive without being over the top. Prices were very reasonable for the quality you get, which is always a huge plus. One thing I really liked was the cozy, home-style setup. Highly recommend!

got the #3 sampler here, which included 1 quesabirria taco, 1 regular birria taco, and 1 mulita…read more This was my first time trying birria tacos, so I was pretty excited to try these out I thought these were pretty fantastic Out of the three, I thought the weakest one was the regular birria one. This one was pretty much just a regular soft taco with beef inside. I wasn't a huge fan of the taco shell, as it was a little soft. In terms of the filling, I did really like the amount of beef in there, but I thought it was kind of dry and chewy. The beef being like this was something I noticed in all 3 tacos - but it was the most noticeable in this one I really liked the quesabirria taco - that extra layer of cheese did so much for the flavor. For one, it provided another layer between the taco shell and the cheese, and second, the cheese itself was really good and there was a lot of it. Because of this, the beef inside just tasted better than the regular birria - and the shell on the outside didn't feel as soft as the first one. My favorite of the three was the mulita, which came as two small tortillas with the filling inside. the reason I liked this the most was because it was the crispiest of the three - there were actual crunchy parts to this tortilla that weren't there in the other ones. This one also had cheese like the birria, but due to the slight advantage in crunchiness it's my favorite Of course, what really brings this entire meal together is the consommé. This is just absolutely fantastic - and is the best part of the meal by far. The broth is salty, flavorful, and just adds so much to everything it coats. When dipping one of the tacos in it, I would let the consommé wash over the beef that remains, essentially liquidifying it, and this made the beef so much juicier and changed it from dry to flowing with the juices of the broth. It's hard to describe how much this enhanced the two tacos and the mulita. There's also a pretty generous amount of it Another thing I have to mention is the spicy salsa - which was incredibly flavorful. really loved that The only thing I would really say as a negative (other than the beef that I mentioned before) is that these tacos/mulita really aren't crunchy at all. I wish the tortillas would've been fried more to really get that crispiness that I prefer in tacos - an oil coating on the outside would've also helped. I also usually don't mention this in my reviews, but the person at the front desk was amazing! For the price of about 15 dollars, I would say this is relatively decent - however, while the portion size looks big, it's not really that filling

The food came out very fast after ordering and though there were several other tables full of groups, they also got their food out quick as well. I have dined here before so the interiors isn't too different just small changes. Let's jump to the food- I ordered the galbitang and it came with 10 different banchan. Which is a nice surprise since some restaurants aren't as generous in the banchan. The galbitang was so flavorful for a "clear" soup and the meat was tender. It also included a good portion of meat. I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have. All the banchan were flavorful too, I thought the kimchi had a good balance as sometimes it can be a bit on the saltier side. Service was great too, the sever was friendly and checked often. When I went, it was just me then a couple arrived. There was a delay with their order so she provided some mandu on the house while their order was being prepared. Once they received their order, I heard the couple tell the sever that everything was very good multiple times- their food did look good! I recommend checking this place out especially with the new ownership. Menu looks similar from previous owners, but will for sure go back and try something else!
