Al pastor street taco with complimentary water bottle $8.99 16 oz horchata ~$3.50

Cash only Good spot for cheap food. Ordered Al pastor street tacos--it was dry and ok. Might need to try another dish next time.

    4 tacos + drink for $9

Somewhere other than Dicks to get lunch for $10 in Wallingford. Carnitas were crispy and Al Pastor was quality, tortillas were soft and fresh, salsas were flavorful. No complaints, I will come again. Cash only so bring cash!

Portion was perfect. Miso Bold (4.5/5) Very very rich broth and the black garlic was great. Portion was oerfect for how rich it was. I add the spicy paste and it was great. Nested in the brewery, it's a convenient spot to catch up with folks, grab a drink, and grub. Parking can suck however, since this is Fremont and you'll need to find street parking. I don't like the idea of hot soup in plastic but it's street food style and the disposable bowls are consistent in theme. Zangi - Hokkaido style chicken karaage! Delicious, juicy, and flavorful with some hints of garlic. Larger pieces than typical karaage, these were a hit for me. Highly recommend and the spicy mayo on the side was tasty. Hakodate Shio Ramen - shio sea salt was my choice for their simple, chicken and kelp foundation. Basic is good, comforting, and hearty, but hard to be special compared to others. Lots of additional toppings are included but what surprised me was the takoyaki inside. They got soggy which is a stark contrast to my expectations for takoyaki. Little small, but can be filling because of the quantity of items inside.

Not a casual yes but not a "cancel your other plans" yes. - Chicago pizza: came with 6 slices for 2 people. Tapped out at 4.5 and entered a mild food coma so we went for a walk afterwards. I was starving going in (like thinking-about-food-for-2-hours starving) and still got humbled. This pizza is THICCKK. Chicago with green pepper = elite decision, an unexpected vegetable moment that felt almost...responsible. Mid-slice meh. Corner slice = main character energy, crispy edges, structurally superior, spiritually fulfilling. - The "green on green on green" salad surprisingly huge portion - chips and dip: literally chips. lots of chips. dip was fine. idk if i would order again. We ended up ordering vegetarian pizzas and were pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and satisfying they were. We grabbed a table outside and enjoyed the atmosphere while people-watching. The prices are a little on the high side, but the quality of the pizza made it worth it. They're known for their Oklahoma-style smashburger, which consist of patties smashed with onions. It's a unique style that I haven't had before. I liked this burger. The first thing you notice is the crispiness of the two smashed patties on the edge; something that's common in smashburgers is for the patties to feel thin and floppy, but the ones here have a real edge to them. Especially on the outside, you get quite a lacy crunch due to the craggly and distorted edges. I will say this firmness is mostly contained to the outside and doesn't extend inwards towards the center much, but it does its job. The onions being smashed into the burger also really works. The natural sugars from the onion sort of caramelize into the patty, giving it a unique flavor that's not just the meat. I did think the patties could have been seasoned better - some more salt could be used. The rest of this burger also works pretty well. The buns are lightly toasted, and super soft on the outside. The slice of American cheese is melted perfectly like how it should be on a classic smash. The pickles were a nice touch, but I do think some spice would've gone a long way. I did notice they had a jalapeno version of this burger, and I think that would be better than this one - as this one felt a bit heavy on the fat. For around 10 bucks for the double smash, it's honestly comparable to the price of like Shake Shack or something, but I would definitely say this is better. Both patties are 3 oz each which is a good amount of meat. Overall, a very solid smashburger with an interesting style. 8.5/10

I received a promo for $5 off so I tried to use it the previous time, but she didn't know how to apply it. Then another time when I order The Caribbean Plato with pulled roasted pork, when I got home, I discovered the wrong type of meat (grilled pork instead of pulled pork). For these reasons, I didn't go back for a long time. Today, I went again to get take out for my visitors. I called in the order so I didn't have to wait, but Gisela didn't understand my order and kept getting it wrong. I ordered 3 Caribbean Plato with pulled pork, and 1 Caribbean Plato with chicken thigh, but she kept repeating the wrong order back to me (2 pork, instead of 3, wrong type of meat, etc), so I tried it again and again, still no comprendo. I got frustrated and told her that I would just come in person to order. I was in a hurry, but I had no choice. When I got there, I ordered the same thing, but this time, I gestured the type of pork I wanted, using my hands to show pulled and tried to explain that I wanted the shredded kind, not the solid kind). Someone was with me so he heard my order in plain English. As I was waiting for my order, I decided to ask her once more just to be sure that it wasn't the grilled pork bc she made that mistake last time. Then she said my meat was grilling now. I was alarmed since they don't get the pulled pork from the grill. I told her that I wanted PULLED ROASTED PORK, not the solid grilled patty kind. She said something in Spanish to the guy who was putting my order together and he showed me a sample of the pulled pork so I said "YES" that's the one I want. She said they were already cooking the grilled pork. When I told her that she was giving me the wrong order, she said "it's too late". I was so upset so I said, "why is it so hard to understand my order?" Pulled pork is pulled pork, not grilled pork. I never even mentioned the word "grilled". A guy came out from the kitchen so I explained myself and he said what I want is the pulled roasted pork and I said, "that's what I ordered". She tried to explain something to him in Spanish, but he told her to just give me the pulled pork and I was on my way. She just ruined my day, and I could feel my blood pressure rising. I don't think I will ever return again. It's too hard to explain the right kind of meat to Gisela. Dining out and getting take out should be a pleasant experience, not a stressful one.

This one was pretty much just a regular soft taco with beef inside. I wasn't a huge fan of the taco shell, as it was a little soft. In terms of the filling, I did really like the amount of beef in there, but I thought it was kind of dry and chewy. The beef being like this was something I noticed in all 3 tacos - but it was the most noticeable in this one I really liked the quesabirria taco - that extra layer of cheese did so much for the flavor. For one, it provided another layer between the taco shell and the cheese, and second, the cheese itself was really good and there was a lot of it. Because of this, the beef inside just tasted better than the regular birria - and the shell on the outside didn't feel as soft as the first one. My favorite of the three was the mulita, which came as two small tortillas with the filling inside. the reason I liked this the most was because it was the crispiest of the three - there were actual crunchy parts to this tortilla that weren't there in the other ones. This one also had cheese like the birria, but due to the slight advantage in crunchiness it's my favorite Of course, what really brings this entire meal together is the consommé. This is just absolutely fantastic - and is the best part of the meal by far. The broth is salty, flavorful, and just adds so much to everything it coats. When dipping one of the tacos in it, I would let the consommé wash over the beef that remains, essentially liquidifying it, and this made the beef so much juicier and changed it from dry to flowing with the juices of the broth. It's hard to describe how much this enhanced the two tacos and the mulita. There's also a pretty generous amount of it Another thing I have to mention is the spicy salsa - which was incredibly flavorful. really loved that The only thing I would really say as a negative (other than the beef that I mentioned before) is that these tacos/mulita really aren't crunchy at all. I wish the tortillas would've been fried more to really get that crispiness that I prefer in tacos - an oil coating on the outside would've also helped. I also usually don't mention this in my reviews, but the person at the front desk was amazing! For the price of about 15 dollars, I would say this is relatively decent - however, while the portion size looks big, it's not really that filling

When we arrived, there were a few tables occupied, and we were invited to seat ourselves. We chose a cozy booth near the kitchen. One thing to note: there are no physical menus; instead, you order and pay using QR codes at the table. We started with the aloo pies and, of course, couldn't pass up the jerk chicken. Everything arrived at once rather than in courses, but it didn't take away from the experience. Every dish was packed with flavor. The aloo pies had a taste reminiscent of samosas :: crispy on the outside with a warmly spiced filling :: and were served with a tangy chutney that complemented them perfectly. The jerk chicken was the standout. Tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned with warm, balanced spices :: it was easily the highlight of the meal. It came with rice and peas (beans), which were some of the best we've had, along with a simple green salad that surprised us with its freshness and bright citrus vinaigrette. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Pam, who was just as warm and welcoming as the food she prepares. She mentioned that they often have live music on weekends, which sounds like a great reason to return. I also noticed they offer an all-you-can-eat buffet on Wednesdays, and after this experience, I'm especially excited to come back and try more of the menu. If everything else is as good as what we had, we're already sold. Oh! I almost forgot :: my husband ordered a wonderful drink, the Trinidad Smash. One sip transported us to vacation mode, instantly! So good!
