Colibrí is Hummingbird in Spanish and we figured that out fairly quickly in addition to the signage and saw this particular bird. It's also one of our favorite birds that come around our house. We were pondering if we wanted appetizers but we held off and went straight to drinks and a meal when it came to ordering. I got the absolutely fantastic Enchiladas Colibrí with ground beef. This was a trio enchilada plate in which each enchilada is in different sauces. One has a green sauce, another a red sauce and another was in a molé sauce. All three enchiladas were absolutely delicious as well as all three of the sauces. Ingredients tasted fresh and the flavors had a great "personality " to them. It was a great choice to get. My plate also came with rice and beans. When it was put before me I was wondering if I was going to be able to eat it all but I did and was feeling just right. For dessert we had a great tasting flan. Whenever we are in a Mexican restaurant and a flan opportunity arises Steve often time seizes the opportunity to get an order. It too was quite good and a great finish to the meal. I also got their Cucumber Margarita which was very refreshing and the Cucumber essence was a great fit to the rest of the meal. The Tajín rim was a wonderful touch to the drink. Very, very good meal and nice, friendly service gives Colibrí a five star score with ease.

It's also a very nice ambience small but you have large garage door windows to let in a lot of natural light and it's easy to walk throughout chophouse row to look at other businesses.

cute neighborhood spot for breakfast or lunch in the greenlake vicinity…read more the menu has a pretty even mix of mexican and traditional american breakfast fare but i was drawn in by the plantains so ordered katracho minus the chorizo (they grilled some tomatoes for me as a substitute.) they were fairly busy for a sunday morning and one observation i had when the food came to the table was the differing temperatures of items. my eggs were not hot but the plantains were, indicating some things had been sitting around while others had been recently prepared. the beans were in a small cup in the middle and had good flavor but also lukewarm. i didn't expect everything listed in the menu to be cut and arranged around the plate as it was. this dish had a toast or coffee cake side order and opted for sourdough; there was raspberry freezer jam on the take. taste-wise the dish was good and the service was fine. all in all, while it wasn't a standout experience it was totally acceptable on a number of levels and others appeared to be enjoying the location's offerings as well.

The Cantina celebrates Taco Tuesday, so I took advantage of this. You get the opportunity to try 5 different street tacos for the low price of $15. For another $4 you order it fully loaded which is a steal (guac, pickled onions, lettuce, giardano, crema, and another lovely sauce). Each of the tacos were really delicious and packed full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the cauliflower and the beef. Was surprised how much I liked the popcorn chicken - still juicy and not greasy in the least. Andrew treated us to a round of the hatch green chili. I was delighted because it was a dish I wanted to try. He described it perfectly: a little kick, but you can't stop eating it. He was right. A bowl of this in the winter with their cornbread (which I'm confident will be delicious) will preempt a winter cold. The sauces on the table are not to be ignored either. The green chili sauce was fruity with a little heat, the scorpion chili brings the heat, but their homemade chili oil is phenomenal. I could put this on everything. In short, the Cantina delivers. The El Pastor was just so so for my taste where the marinated pork was a tad bland and I was not a fan of the Cauliflower tortilla's. The Beef taco's one the other hand were exceptional and full of flavor. Of note, the house made salsa's on the table were very very good and added a lot to these taco's. Aside from the food, I also got their Happy Hour Priced Traditional Lime Margarita at $12.50. This was a well made Blanco based Margarita with a house made 5 salt medley rim that was unique and quite good in its own right. Relative to staff and the facility and contrary to some of the reviews I saw on line, I had no issue with getting seated and staff on this day was very pleasant and friendly. The facility itself is clean and bright with nicely stocked bar in the center of the restaurant providing a nice visual while you enjoy your meal. Overall a very nice dining experience where I will be returning in the future to get some more of those beef taco's.
