I've been coming to Metropolitan Nails for over five years now, and I have to say it's my favorite nail salon in Hoboken! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by both the owner and friendly employers; who take their time cutting, removing cuticles, massaging (which I've dozed off a couple of times), and polishing. Thanks to these ladies my nails are always on point, and believe it or not, my regular mani/pedi lasts for almost 3 weeks!! Unlike other nail salons I've been to (and trust me I've been to many) they are, in my opinion, the most affordable place in town. Monday-Wednesday they offer special packages (Reg. Mani and Pedi $25), and the great part about this place is that you can become part of their membership program! For every dollar spent, you accumulate points to use towards a free mani/pedi, massage, wax etc. I've been a member for a while so I'm pleased to say I've had a couple of free mani and pedis of my own . Who wouldn't love that!? read more

Great pedicure but no frills type of place, wish they would've used a plastic tub covering for each customer, would've made it feel cleaner, but otherwise they did a great job read more

Metropolitan Nails is the absolute best! Not only are Bumi and her technicians perfectionists in their craft, she and her husband John are genuinely kind and welcoming to all who walk in. As others have mentioned, they greet most clients by name, often remembering their kids' names too, which says so much about the personal care they put into their business. Their hours are convenient, prices are reasonable, walk-ins are always welcome, and best of all--the nails last! There's a reason they've been in business for 20+ years. Highly recommend! read more

I have no idea why this salon doesn't have 5 stars. Welcoming and clean, I walked in and got (no joke) the best pedicure I've gotten in years. Just beyond solid...exactly what you want from a nail salon. The owner was so sweet, Jennifer was quick yet thorough and I walked out with the best paint job (which let me tell you, lots of Hoboken nail salons cannot do). Do yourself a favor and come to this salon. Try it out, I guarantee you'll be back. read more

I walked in at 11 on a Saturday with toes that looked prehistoric.... rolled out with a gel manicure and an immaculate, dry pedicure 1 hour later. Price was lower than my usual salon in Chicago. Owner allowed me to tip on my card, then handed me my tip in cash to hand to the technician. Nice!! read more

This shop is wonderful. The owners are lovely, and their staff is polite, cheerful and competent. The owners go out of their way to help. I am disabled and they do everything they can to make me comfortable. I highly, highly recommend this shop. MJM read more

I live in LA and every time I'm in New York City I truck over to Hoboken to my favorite nail salon. I have been going here since my 22 and 24-year-olds were babies, of course I lived in Hoboken. It's still the best place.!! read more

Wanted to get a regular mani, but the color I picked ended up being gel so I went for a gel manicure (30$+ tip). The manicure wasn't done properly and the gel started coming out not even after 10 days. I wouldn't recommend from my experience. read more

Metropolitan Nails - Gel manicure after one week - Nail Salons Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

My family goes to Metropolitan Nails, the most welcoming and nice nail salon. The gel manicures are great and last for a long time. If you're looking for a good manicure or pedicure, I recommend it! Everyone who works there is so friendly and kind. read more

sharing an updated since I haven't had a mani or pedi since before COVID. I walked in, didn't have to wait as Ava ( a new technician in training) got me situated and started while Rosa was finishing up with another customer's pedi. I want to say Rosa you are terrific, my poor feet were a mess and you made them feel perfect! You are also an excellent teacher, Ava was paying such close attention to her direction and instructions how to do things right that Ava will be an awesome technician when Rosa is finished teaching her. Glad the place is still here. Simple not fancy location but the owner and staff are terrific ladies. Thank you Rosa and Ava, I will be coming back every two weeks! I forgot how great it feels to be pampered this way. read more

The ladies do a wonderful job here, I get both a manicure and pedicure and my wife appreciates how clean my hands look. I have had three women who have worked on my hands depending on which day I can get there. Shout out to Ava, Angelica and Rosa! You're all wonderful, my wife loves you guys as well. We will see you in the New Year! read more

Holy crap! This nail salon is so good! I called ahead to ask if I can come for a regular manicure, the man on the phone who I later found out was the owner quoted me a time, and I was seen at that exact time. Everyone was very very friendly! Angelica did my nails tonight, but everyone working looked like they did a good job. Angelica was fast but detailed. She shaped my nails and cut my cuticles exactly how I asked for them to be done. This place is so cheap too! And you can tip on the card! And there is no credit card min! And they even have a reward point system to earn dollars to a free service. The owner said they have been there for 20 years --I don't know how I've never heard of this place, but this will 100% be my new go-to salon. read more

Metropolitan Nails is a terrific, modern nail salon located on the ground floor of a newer apartment building. I would not necessarily call the staff friendly (except for the owner, who is very nice), but they do great work. The salon offers $28 mani/pedis with $25 specials Monday-Wednesday. The salon is quite large with about 8 pedicure massage chairs and 8 manicure tables. They offer a variety of paint colors from OPI and Essie. Waxing is done quickly, but effectively. Metropolitan also offers competitive pricing and a membership points program that can be used for future nail and waxing procedures. They now also carry Burt's Bees products that you can purchase to receive extra points. They also except walk-in, up to even 45 minutes before close for mani/pedis. The salon is open until 8 pm on weekdays and is open both Saturday and Sunday. My only complaint is that the staff could go a bit more out of their way to assist with magazines, taking keys from purses, etc. read more

Went in without an appointment and was seen right away. Great price for a gel manicure and looks great. It was just done 3 days ago so can't comment on longevity yet. I will go back for a pedicure this week. Friendly employees who seem to care about their work. I think one off the woman was the owner and she was great. Prices are some of the best in the area. If you want a good price and don't need a ton off fluff in your deco this is the place!! read more

Metropolitan Nails has been my go to nail salon in Hoboken for over 10 years. Compared to other salons in this area it is small and doesn't have that "spa" atmosphere so many of the locations here do now. However, for great service, prices, and staff why wouldn't you want to come here! There is nothing more enjoyable then entering a nail salon where everyone is greeted and knows each other on a first name basis. Rosa is amazing and always goes up and beyond to make sure she gives me the best manicures (even sneaking in an extra coat for those light colors). Metropolitan is clean and sterilizes all of their tools and has a nice arrangement of the newest colors for both regular and gel manis. They are probably the most affordable place in town to get a gel mani ($30) and it lasts for 3 weeks! During the week they offer special packages (Mon-Wed Mani and Pedi $25) and most importantly a membership program! For every dollar you spend at the salon on any of their services you gain one point. The points can be redeemed for different options. For example, a free pedicure will cost you 400 points. I enjoy coming to this salon which is why my family and friends all go to Metropolitan. If you don't mind giving up the fancy decor and luxurious chairs then Metropolitan can become your go to nail salon also. read more

this place used to be a professional place to get your manicure and pedicure. but tonight did it and I've reached over the top to write this unfortunate review. This husband and wife has become unprofessional. you come there for a mani and pedicure and out of the blue they cut your services out of nowhere. it's very unprofessional to keep taking walk ins knowing they can provide a professional to all their paying customers! This is not the first time this happened , that's why it prompted me to write this unfortunate review because it has to stop the way they treat paying customers unprofessionally! I'm very disappointEd and disgusted! BEWARE! read more

Very clean. Lovely service appreciate their kindness. I'm a flight crew and I'm in town maybe once a year, and I'm so glad I found a nail salon for my friends to visit. read more

Clean, comfortable, and a friendly staff. My nail tech was super efficient, but my nails still look great. Definitely recommend Metropolitan Nails! read more

I have been exclusively coming to this salon for 19 years and have never one time left disappointed. I can't recommend one specific nail technician because every single one of them is great I've had them all. And most of them have been there for years. No appointments so walk in but if you go at a busier time and have to wait a few minutes please don't come on here and unnecessarily leave them a bad review as Bumi and John, the owners, are hard working great people!! read more

This place is really outdated and dirty, uncomfortable chairs, stained floors and carpet, black mold on the sink etc. I called ahead and asked if they were able to take me for a mani-pedi and they said yes, however when I got there it was packed and I had to wait. The polish choices are meager at best and gel is even worse. They don't have any matching gel and polish sets either. The two stars are for the nail tech, she was actually pretty decent, she should look for a better salon to work at in my opinion. It was my first time there and it will be the last, the location is really great and so convenient to me, but I can't bring myself to go back to this establishment. read more

Metropolitan Nails is small but I happened to stop by when only a few people were there and I had a nice experience! We were greeted by the owner and attended to immediately. The two women helping my sister and I were incredibly sweet. Unlike other nail places I've been to, they weren't talking about the customers/complaining. My sister let me know they have a membership program and for every dollar spent, you accumulate points to use for a free mani, pedi, wax, etc- depending on how many points you have. $25 mani/pedi (Mon-Wed) and even though they didn't use the hot stones on my legs, the hand massage was nice. It's almost the 2nd week and my nails haven't chipped. This might become my go to nail place! read more

I absolutely love Metropolitan Nails! It's kind of the off-beaten track but it's definitely worth it. They've gotten a make-over since the hurricane when they where badly flooded and the place looks great! The people there are so friendly! I have my girl Rosa there who always does a fabulous job for when I go waxing. They also have a points system there. So since I always go there for my waxes, I was able to get a free manicure last time I went. And the best part is that it's lasted me over a week and my nails chip like you would not believe. read more

So so so dirty. Came in first thing in the morning on a weekday. The place smelled (not like a nail salon). Employees were sweeping, mopping & dusting the floor which should be done before the salon opens. Two stars for the lady who did my nails. She was very sweet & did a nice job. It lasted about a week. Probably wouldn't make this my regular go-to. read more

I have been going to Metro for years. It's one of the better nail salons in uptown Hoboken and gives a pedicure that can last for weeks! I even recommend it to my friends who live downtown. While the floor could use a little bleaching, don't let that scare you away from this cute little shop. They have numerous technicians on hand to assist with manis, pedis, waxing and mini-massages. The staff is attentive and polite. Metropolitan also offers a rewards program for repeat customers. You gain points for every dollar you spend to achieve free services. Who can't love that? And Mondays - Wednesdays, a mani/pedi combo is only $25! read more

Experienced my first Shellac manicure. This manicure is suppose to last 2 weeks. Mine lasted 3 weeks! Very fast and efficient job. Satisfied with my manicure and was comparable in price to other nail salons. The salon was also clean. read more

Ew, this place is dirty! The chairs are ripped, it needs to be swept, just all in all dirty. The mani/pedi was ok, but they gave me a hard time for wanting to get my manicure first and then the pedicure. The good thing about the place-its cheap. Bad thing-needs a scrub down. read more

I've been going to Metropolitan Nails for years now. I love all the technicians as well as the owners John and Bumi. They are great! Wide selection of colors. read more

$8 manicure. Very well done! My experience here was great! Does not charge for nail polish removal...so any place that does is whack! Also doesn't charge for some "quick dry" fee which I've been suckered in for in the past with other places. If I lived closer I would totally make this my place. Definitely would be beneficial if they had a bigger selection of polish but I am still happy with my choice! read more

I found these place years ago and I can't be happier. I have tried so many salons with '' décor and spa feelings '' in Hoboken. I don't like to be ripped off and I don't like fake smiles , and , defiantly, I don't need to wash my feet for 25 bucks and waste my time on crappy manicure, where technician spend 5 minutes on my nails! I'm from Russia and, trust me, I know how facial, manicure and pedicure must be done! What I like about Metropolitan Nails is a friendly (real, not phony) atmosphere and they all do a great job! I love Narcisa!!! They spend enough time on cutting cuticles, scrubbing, massaging, polishing...so yes, sometimes and a regular manicure last two weeks! Do you know why? Because of the quality of their work!!! read more

Impeccable manicure for $8!! Includes nailtiques base coat and seche vite quick dry top coat. Their polish selection is a bit limited, especially the Essie colors, but they do have a lot of OPI's. I usually bring my own polish so it's not a big deal. Haven't gotten a pedicure yet... read more

I find it difficult to find a manicure spot that is consistent. So far, so good with Metropolitan nails! Very nice staff, and good prices, seems clean enough. I don't love their nail polish selection, seems outdated and limited. But I'll keep going back for now, I'd love to have a regular spot that I trust! read more

They did a great job. I might come back because its better than the last place I went to and prices were decent. The only thing I have to say is you can't assume that just cause you're not of the same ethnicity will mean that the customer does not understand the language while you converse w/ your co-workers. Took 4 years of Spanish, so si hablo un poco. read more

I settled on this place after reading reviews here on Yelp and my daughter and I were not disappointed. My daughter got a mani/pedi ($25 for both M-W) and I got a manicure (for EIGHT dollars!). My daughter enjoyed both of her services and I really liked my manicure. It was the best regular (non-spa) manicure that I've ever had! She exfoliated my hands and it felt SOOOO good! :) After we left, my daughter complained that her nail technician didn't completely cover her nails with the nail polish and I told her she should've spoke up and said something so she could re-do it! My daughter is almost 14 and I explained to her that you need to speak up and ask for something to be done correctly if you see it is not. Hopefully this is a learning lesson! Anyway, I'd definitely go back when I'm in Hoboken again. It's a cute little spot that also offers massages. I wish I took a picture of the service menu as I remember thinking to myself that the prices were all pretty reasonable. read more

How can you beat an $8 manicure?? I dropped my car off to get detailed, Yelped and found this place within walking distance. It was a beautiful Sunday early afternoon. I walked right in, the place was pretty full but oddly enough, there was a serene quiet to the place which was wonderful. My technician was nice and even fixed my mushed big toes from my stupidity of putting shoes on too soon after a pedicure yesterday (which I got at Bliss). Added bonus: they allow you to add a tip to your service. read more

Affordable for a mani/pedi, no comfort/style/spa-like environment what so ever. Extremely quiet and few employees working so a slight wait. They only have a handful of older styled colors. Would have given less stars but you get what you pay for, for such a good price in hoboken. Would go again but only for a mani/pedi and nothing more. read more

Staff is so incredibly nice! Reasonably price and they do an awesome job. Very clean. Absolutely love this place!
