Really nice employees and good service, but the quality of the manicure was really bad. Within 3 days of my manicure (gel) so much of the nail polish had chipped off (first two images). By the 4th day (last image) more than half had fallen off. I did nothing out of the ordinary after getting my nails done and this has never happened to me before (I get gel manicures all the time). Came here on a Sunday afternoon on a whim to get a mani/pedi before my vacation and upon entering it's super small, 4 chairs for manicures and 4 pedicure massage chairs. This place needs an modern update ASAP. The lady who took me sat me down and gave me the colors for the gel manicures and I showed her a picture of a simple leaf design with rhinestone/glitter with it I wanted and she said they don't have rhinestones I said ok how about glitter so she gives me the color palette again...I didn't want a mani of just glitter so I said no thank you. While doing my nails I asked if there's any design they can do and she said no we don't do designs, sorry. Ok, no problem as long as I have a nice mani I'll be fine without a design. They didn't talk much or make conversation so if that's what you're looking for, don't expect it. End of story, experience was decent nothing extraordinary. BUT my manicure started chipping and rubbing off in only 3 days!! Never have I ever gotten a gel manicure that didn't last 2/3 weeks. So disappointed... Hole in the wall nail salon with good google reviews. Woman doing my nails rushed. Paint job wasn't great, filing and clipping job wasn't great -- nails were uneven and filed too short. I had to ask her to correct nails more than once. And the bottoms of my pants were soaked even though I rolled them up before soaking. Won't be retuning. read more

Well Kim kept trying to talk me out and laughing about me wanting long nails, we continued anyway, she asked me where I was from and when I said Miami she said oh no wonder you want long nails, girls here in jersey and NY don't do this. A pet peeve about this place is they don't uphold appointments. You can call ahead and when you arrive 5 minutes later, they are no longer available. First come, first serve. When I moved back to the area, I needed a new nail salon because mine had closed. I found this business on Yelp and made an appointment because they seemed to have a good reputation and they are one of the few places who still did acrylic fills. I made an appointment for an acrylic fill with gel polish and it took about 2 hours for them to do my nails which is insane! When my nails were finished, they were bumpy and the color was streaky. Then when the tech handed me my bill, I saw that she charged me for two services, the acrylic fill and a gel manicure. I had never experienced that. Usually there is an upcharge for a gel polish, but its not like she did 2 sets of nails and should have been paid for two separate services. This place is on my list of "never returning". read more

I do not often write reviews, but this one needed to be written. It was the worst manicure I have ever gotten. I suspect that there are 2 ladies at this salon that are good at what they do, and many people make appointments with them. If that's you, great! But if you're a walk-in, stay away. I was a walk-in, and the main woman texted someone to come in to take me. Should have set off red flags, but I stayed. The woman who did my nails had NO idea what she was doing. She cut my nails super unevenly -- and I'm not even that picky. Just wanted overall length & shape to be even, but her cuts were all over the place. I actually had to take the clippers and finish them, or else I probably would have gotten a finger snipped. They ended up much shorter than I wanted because of all her attempts to fix things. Then the nail file, buffing, and trimming off excess skin -- awful. She would leave pieces of nail and skin just hanging there, and so I had to pull or file them off myself. Otherwise she would have just moved to polish... The polish itself might've been the worst part. She left slivers of nails unpolished -- I know some manicurists don't go all the way to the side of the nail, but I'm talking noticeably large slivers of nail. She also wiped off polish from my nails accidentally when moving between fingers -- she would just swipe off almost entire nails & not even notice. This happened 5 or 6 times. She also giggled throughout like she knew that she didn't know what she was doing... It was incredibly unprofessional. I know they only had her do my nails because they didn't want to turn me away among the other appointments booked. I wish they had. It was unethical, and I won't be going back. read more

It's definitely not the most up-to-date nail salon on Washington Street but the service was great. I came in as a walk-in and was seated immediately. I got my usual gel-nail. The woman servicing me was quick but did a great job. Very polite staff and you can tell they try to make the customer happy. Prices are competitive for the area. I would suggest making an appointment if you plan to come as the place is very quaint. They have about 4 manicure stations and 4 pedicure chairs. Quaint nail salon at 12th and Washington. Without an appointment, I got right in for a mani/pedi (it was busy, though!). Really enjoyed the massager while getting the pedicure, and the lady gave me a quick leg massage that felt amazing. Loved that I saw the workers taking the pedi materials out of sterilized packages. One thing I noticed was that their nail polish selection seemed to have a bunch of similar colors, and I prefer more variety in selection. Will definitely come back to this place. read more

If you go here expecting a spa experience then you are in the wrong place - so don't be disappointed when you don't get a shoulder massage at the end of your manicure. But if you need to get in and out and have a good result - this should be your go-to nail salon in uptown Hoboken. My first visit was for a gel manicure the night before a business trip. I was in and out in an hour and my manicure was flawless and held up for longer than the typical two weeks that a gel manicure usually lasts. I made my second visit yesterday. They were flexible with moving my appointment and I was in and out in less than an hour for a gel removal and buff manicure. I still love V Spot if I'm looking to relax, but for getting a quick manicure that looks great and lasts, Soho Nails is great. Walked in the other night for a pedicure and was pleasantly surprised. I had to wait about 10-15 minutes but my pedicure was great! For only 23 dollars they did a great job and I was very satisfied. She did a great job and even warned me ahead of time that the color I had picked would be very sheer, which I appreciated. She also suggested a similar shade with more color payoff. So here's the deal with SOHO nails. It's not fancy at all, you're basically paying top prices for a salon that you can probably find anywhere in the ghetto for much cheaper. Most of the women are speaking in Spanish and will need their main manicurist to translate for you. What you see is what you get at this salon. Now I always have Lucy do my nails because she can understand me and gets the job done. I also like Lucy because she has repaired my nails free of charge when they were damaged. She cares about her clients and would like to see them return. The place is overall decent and I keep using them because they are close and convenient to my boyfriend's apartment. As far as volume, it can get VERY crowded here. They will basically tell you to come back if they don't have time for the service that you are requesting. read more
