The minute I walked to the door, she just gave a poor customer service. Arelys I originally requested and got her instead. I hope moving forward the Manager can talk to Cristal about improving her customer service. One of the staff members even asked if I was pregnant on my birthday. On top of it, Cristal made a rude comment in Spanish. Moving forward, if I have a poor customer service, no tip period. Most unprofessional, unpleasant experience ever! my daughter scheduled a facial and manicure. The facial provider didn't show up, they didn't inform us in advance, so came for nothing. I had their specialty honey pedicure on a Saturday as a same day appointment. They were very nice as well as offered champagne, coffee, or water. The environment is really clean and beautiful. I thought they did a great job with my Pedicure as well. It's been two weeks and it still looks great. The pedicure included bath salts, massage, lotion, foot mask, and a thorough pedicure. I believe it was 65$ which is fair. They did not rush me either during the pedicure. The only negative is they don't have a huge selection or non gel nail polish. read more

My rating is more around the experience vs my nails. I got a gel X fill + pedicure and both came out beautifully. My 3 stars (vs 4 or 5) is that my appointment took ~3 hours + they moved my appointment without telling me. I booked an appointment online and they pushed it back 25 min without calling me and asking. I got there at the new time and then still had to wait ~25 min for my service. I acknowledge how thorough they were + the attention to detail doesn't go unnoticed, but 3 hours for a simple service (which I can do in 60 min at home with 2 girls) is excessive. read more

The vibe of the nail salon is fun, relaxed, and welcoming -- when I come in, I'm asked if I want something to drink (tea, champagne, water, etc.) and am often asked what I want to watch on Netflix -- and I love feeling like I'm coming to hang out with friends whenever it's time to get my nails done. I had one of the best manicures seriously EVER here. I got a normal manicure and pedicure and didn't see any chips for at least 4 or 5 days. I came on a Tuesday after work and took advantage of their $30 mani/pedi special on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Definitely recommend you make an appointment because I am not sure if they often have time for walk ins. This spot is so wonderful, relaxing and clean. When you arrive, they sanitize the bottom of your shoes and have hand sanitizer for you. They offer you a drink and to take your coat when you sit which I thought was such a wonderful touch to help you settle down and start relaxing. Their pedicure chairs are basically just big comfy armchairs which I love because I rarely use the message settings anyway on typical salon chairs. I saw Adis for my mani and pedi and she was incredible. So sweet and friendly and thorough. I have a great pedicure that has no chips at all after a week and my feet are still baby soft. And I already raved about how great my manicure is holding up. I It was a busy day for them but I never felt rushed and they made sure both my hands and feet were ready before I left. I received a gift card to 718 so I came in as a walk-in. They let me know that they were too busy, but I should make an appointment. I made an appointment for a few weeks out. When I came for my appointment, they let me know my appointment had been released to another client. I was about 10 minutes late, but I was within their 15 minute courtesy window. I spoke to the manager and she apologized about the situation, and was supposed to follow-up about rescheduling, but she never called to reschedule. I called the salon this morning and no answer (no one picked up). I'm very disappointed with the service here. I'm now trying to get the cash value of my gift card, or have it refunded, so I can get my nails done elsewhere. Can't recommend this place given my experience. read more

I called and booked a Russian Manicure + Regular pedi.... For 2 days before my appointment even happened I kept getting different emails with new times it started at 3:00 pm and by Friday night a day before my appointment they have put me already to 3:45pm, 45 min further than my original appt with out any call informing me or asking if that would be okay for me... which I find absurd but seems to be a regular practice to them since I saw another person at same day complaining about the same thing. Upon arriving to my appointment I was assigned a nail tech and I don't know if she was having a bad day or what but terrible attitude , energy and aggressive she was so hard with the drill that I was in pain and discomfort thru the whole time.... She clearly didn't know what is a Russian manicure and how it is supposed to be done... she was clearly annoyed that she had to removed my previous gel from my old nail tech and at times my nail hurt of how hard she was on them my nails specially thumbs were bruised from how hard she was being it felt very uncalled for.... The only "Russian manicure " part I got was getting my cuticle removed but material applied , polish technique wasn't existent ,they're extremely unprofessional I could hear her nagging with another nail tech from my seat about me having the work of another nail tech in my nails.... *By appointment only* I made an appointment for a Tuesday at noon. Originally, I was going to do a regular pedi and gel mani but then some of my nails broke, so I just decided to do a regular mani. I also remembered seeing a sign for a $30 regular mani/pedi special on Tuesdays/Wednesdays so I just went with that. Although not advertised, I believe there's another Tues/Wed special for a regular pedi/gel mani for $47 and it seemed like most people were doing that. Color options are a bit limited, so it did take me a minute to decide on a color. Both services were fine. I ruined two nails on the way out but they were understanding and fixed it for me. Best nail salon in Hoboken, without a doubt. I have tried quite a few places around town since moving here 2.5 years ago, but ever since I first tried 718 Beauty Bar in the spring, I keep coming back. The environment is super relaxing and beautiful. They have different drinks they offer and a couple TVs playing baking shows on Netflix which is my new favorite way to unwind during a pedicure haha. The online booking service is super convenient and even offers their weekday specials (Tuesday/Wednesdays you can get a manicure/pedicure combo for great prices!) I have been seeing Yuli for the past few months and am very appreciative of the time and care she puts into my crazy manicure requests! I have included a couple photos of her work below and love them. Both are gel manicure with full nail art (goes for about $65 if your natural nails.) She even helped me when I broke one of my natural nails and was able to fix it without needing an acrylic. I have also done regular manicures that lasted 2+ weeks -- super impressive considering I am constantly washing my hands at work and normal manicures don't always last for me. My neighbor swears by the gel silk extensions (I think that's the name?) so I will have to try them in the fall or winter when my nails are typically shorter. I'm very picky when it comes to nail salons, so a 5 star review is high praise! I had heard great things about 718 beauty bar and finally decided to try it out for a manicure tonight. I made an appointment a few days in advance for a Friday evening manicure. I was glad I had a reservation because they were busy! When I arrived I was promptly greeted and told to pick out a color. They had a nice selection of gel and regular polishes. The space is beautifully decorated with a cute greenery wall and comfy pedicure chairs. I walked in and instantly felt relaxed! They also offer champagne, water, and coffee to patrons. It was so nice to have a glass of champagne while I got my nails done! The nail technicians were very gentle and did a great job. I really hate when I get a manicure and the manicurist is too rough on my cuticles, so I was happy this wasn't the case here. The salon is also very clean which is always appreciated. This is a long overdue review but 718 is hands down the BEST nail salon in Hoboken. Not only because of their beautiful work but also because of their amazing customer service. Every time I come to 718, I am treated like a VIP and continuously impressed by my experience. I have been coming to 718 for a little over two years and have had wide array of services (regular, gel, dip, UV gel, pedicures) and my nails always come out beautiful. Silvia is my go to girl and favorite nail tech, she is a perfectionist and does an absolutely amazing job every single time. That being said, I've probably had services performed by all the nails techs at one point or another and have always been pleased with the final product. They have also taken great precautions during the pandemic (e.g. temperature checks, sanitizing bottom of shoes and hands before entering, masks, plastic shields), which made me feel safe and reassured after my first appointment during COVID. One of my favorite additions to their services was their monthly unlimited mani pedis membership! I always enjoyed my weekly mani pedi as my little treat to myself and it is such a great deal! I also cannot say enough wonderful things about the owner, Fay. She is classy, kind, and goes above and beyond to make her customers happy. She 100% should serve as an inspiration to women business owners in the community. I am beyond sad that I will have to find a new nail salon when I relocate to DC at the end of the month. However, I added on the callous remover and it did absolutely nothing...not even one shred of dead skin came off. That's not Veronica's fault--the tools and product were super ineffective. I feel like I left with the same callouses just more moisturized. The pedicure chairs are uncomfortable and the foot stool is always wobbling and nearly falling off. it's not pleasant. Veronica was so detailed and took her time through everything. 2 coats OPI polish, no chips, solid color. Normally I wouldn't let them cut my nails short and file them so squared across, but I ended up liking it. They don't have a huge selection of regular polish, but that's okay for someone as indecisive as me. It's a small place and by appointment only so it wasn't crazy crowded or busy, which I love. I first came here to get my nails done for my brother's wedding last year and they did an incredible classic manicure and pedicure - the manicure lasted a solid two weeks and the pedicure over a month. I recently decided to re-instate having my nails done regularly and popped in for the $43 manicure/pedicure combo (it might be cheaper on specials days earlier in the week). I did a dark navy and could not believe the manicure again lasted for 2 weeks! I have now seen three different technicians and my manicure is lasting for 2 weeks plus, amazing! I only get a pedicure if I am switching up my nail color and want them to match - over a month and it has never been out of necessity! The salon itself is cozy and has a lovely community feel. They have you wait outside till ready and then They take your temperature, ask covid health related questions, sanitize your hands and bottom of feet. Everyone in masks. This has been my go-to nail salon for the last year+ and it's because of the quality of the service. I go to Silvia and have been doing gel manis with her (though have seen others at the salon e.g., Lakenia and Arely who have also been fantastic). My nails consistenly last 2-3 weeks (my nails grow fast so 2 weeks preferred but 3 weeks are totally doable). She's helped me grow my natural nails out and they're always in great condition. I chose to get a refund only bc my nails are not the strongest and taking it off right away and putting it back on again wouldn't be smart. I will, however, give them my business again sometime in the future bc they have excellent costumer service and that is what makes or breaks a business! They were very sweet and offered me a mimosa, but they barely removed the calluses on my pedi so my heels are sort of meh two days later... and today I was just getting ready to go to a night out, not even doing anything strenuous and my entire gel nail chips! On top of that, I asked for just a basic design on my nail and they didn't disclose it was $25 extra dollars. I definitely would've stuck with basic color had I known because it literally ended up being $120 with tip. I originally wasn't going to write a review, but for such an expensive gel mani, I can't believe my cuticles look the way they do 2 days later and my nail chipped. EDIT: after this review was originally posted, the owner, Michelle, promptly contacted me about fixing my nails. She also explained I was working with a nail tech new to SNS powder. I appreciate her willingness to correct my experience. This is the worst manicure I have ever received. I was the only one in the salon with 2 women who spoke no English, which wouldn't have been an issue if my nails didn't look so poorly that I couldn't even communicate that they needed fixing. I received SNS powder but the manicurist couldn't figure out the top coat - she would put it on, touch my nails, smudge them, then try and do another top coat on top of the smudge, until they realized they needed to use another coat that left my nails with no shine, completely smudged. This happened 3 TIMES. I showed them pictures of the shape of nail I wanted (coffin) and was given blank stares in return. They also could not understand that I wanted my nails to be cut shorter. All of this would have been acceptable if the powder did not end up so incredibly misshapen. My nails are lumpy and crooked and have never looked this terrible. read more

I've been to this salon one other time and my nails were alright due to the sticker that was placed on my nail was completely messed up, however the shape was perfect. This time around, honestly, I won't be coming back. Positives: Everyone there was extremely nice, including the owner. Cons: I asked for a design that I found from THEIR website and my nails look nothing like the photo. The shape is not square and not only that but I paid $74! I understand that I chose a different color than the dark blue shown. However, that should not alter the design all together. I can't justify paying that amount for a lack luster job. read more

Today they fully canceled my appointment 7 minutes before when I was already en route, saying there was an "emergency" but I received a butt dial voicemail of one of the staff basically yelling and complaining about work. I have been searching for a good nail salon in Hoboken and I have yet to find one. I came here twice because I wanted to give it a second chance, but it was honestly worse the second time. Pedicure. Not good. The chairs are very uncomfortable bc they are not real pedicure chairs. They are just a chair and a bench for your feet. Both times I felt I could not fully relax my legs otherwise i would be pushing the little bench. Basically got a hamstring workout trying to keep my feet properly on the bench. They don't really rub your legs well. But the polish job came out very good. Manicure. First time I got a regular manicure and it came out good. Second time I got a gel manicure and I would definitely not return. The gel job is sloppy. Edges are not clean. She did match a color i wanted though from a photo so I'll give her that. But my cuticles were brutalized. She cut my skin and not only was it very painful but I was bleeding the entire time I was getting my nails done. She would do a coat, have me put it in under the light, and when she went to do another coat I was still bleeding. She would just shake her head and wipe it away. And just kept painting my nails like no big deal. That is so. Unsanitary. 5 days later my cuticles are all raw and peeling around my nails and look disgusting. I've heard so many good things about 718 beauty bar since it's been under new management and have tried just about every nail salon in Hoboken so figured I'd give it a shot. I made a last minute appointment on-line for a gel manicure which couldn't have been an easier process, instantly confirmed and I was lucky they had the time I was looking for available. I was greeted at the door and immediately asked if I wanted some water by the lovely, Zee, my nail technician. I don't typically get a gel manicure mainly because I'm not fond of filing down my nails and the look of the "thicker" polish but with vacation coming up it was necessary. Zee could not have been more meticulous ensuring that I liked the shape and length of my nails prior to doing a thin layer of polish each time and taking so much care in what she was doing. I was in and out and with a beautiful gel manicure. The place itself is absolutely adorable with very cozy looking pedicure chairs and cute little foot baths and exceptionally clean! Prices were consistent with what you'd find just about anywhere but they have specialty services like CBD pedicures and services that you can specify time 60 minute pedicure, yes please! I will most certainly be back and I recommend making an appointment as the word gets out I'm sure they'll be pretty packed! read more
