Up on the elevated track.

We have been to Miami several times and we have taken advantage of the Metromover more than once. This is a free elevated automated people mover train system operated by Miami-Dade Transit. The Metromover serves the Downtown Miami, Brickell, Park West and Arts & Entertainment District neighborhoods. It connects directly with Metrorail at Government Center and Brickell stations. It also connects to Metrobus with dedicated bus loops at Government Center and Adrienne Arsht Center station. The Metromover serves primarily as an alternative way to travel within the downtown area. The system is composed of three loops and 21 stations. The stations are located approximately two blocks away from each other, and connect near all major buildings and places in the Downtown area. The Metromovers we have taken have always been clean, climate controlled and on time. You can check the arrival time of the Metromovers at the platform, which will tell you which loop is coming and the arrival time.

If you have mono, use this monorail

I'd rather ride a Monorail than have Mono, but then that is probably true of most people, no? This is a beautiful monorail system towering over beautiful downtown Miami with amazing views of downtown and all the water and beaches and concrete - so it's definitely one of my favorite elements of downtown Miami and unique and beautiful. Probably the prettiest setting for a Monorail in all of the country, and it still looks brand new. And it makes the city look futuristic, which it already does, but even more so due to this.

The Metromover is easily my favorite thing in Miami, and it is FREE. It gets you to almost any location in central Miami. I'm fascinated by the driverless cars 2-4 stories above the ground, circling through the middle of buildings, swooping over beautiful vistas. It's one of the futuristic cosmopolitan touches that makes Miami so unique. There are 3 intersecting routes, which can be slightly confusing. One circles clock-wise around the center of the historic downtown part of Miami. The second route circle the same central area as the first but counter-clock-wise with a spur north to American Airlines Arena, the big museums and the entertainment district. The third route circles the central area counter-clock-wise with a spur south to the Brickell Avenue area of shopping and new high rises. It's all very clean, absolutely free and almost like George Jetson in his flying car. Many of the stations are beautifully designed, and everything is above ground, usually 2-4 stories above the ground. A real "subway" tunneled underground would flood easily in a low-lying wet and tropical place like Miami. As a result everything is on tall pylons and loops through stations on the second floor of buildings. The more complex intersections let you out directly into the second or third floor of a building. My favorite station is at Brickell City Center, you get out on the second floor of Miami's glitziest shopping mall, surrounded by a forest of high-rises, and can literally walk five blocks through "tubes in the sky" walkways in the uber-chic mall. People complain about sketchy characters on the driverless train, or service break-downs, but Miami needs a lot more public transit just like this: clean, free, and efficient. Paid for by sales tax, so poetically, every Maserati owner you see on Brickell Avenue has contributed roughly a couple of thousand bucks in extra sales tax to Metromover!

Living in the Brickell area is why my car doesn't get any miles and I wonder why I still have it. Well, because that's lose too much by selling it but that's about it. The Brickell station is walking distance from my home and takes me around Brickell and downtown for free. A trail path walks me straight to the station.

Miami's a small place

The Metromover is adjunct the Metrorail. The City of Miami is small, however, there's plenty to see and do around this town. You can walk or take the metro mover, which a free transit service for locals and tourist. Personally, I prefer walking, but jump on just to look around like Citzenwatch, but from the Metromover. My father loves every station. My mother (rip) only liked the station that led her to Macy's. Most tourists do too. Other people like my brother probably appreciate it best to get from Point A to Point Z. Pffttt.

Everything needs to improve from skipping stations to having stations under construction to stations having no accessibility

I recently arrived at the Brightline MiamiCentral Station from Orlando, and overall, I had a really…read moregood experience with the station itself. After deboarding, I stopped by the restrooms first and was honestly impressed. They were very clean, modern, and mostly touchless -- touchless soap dispensers, faucets, hand dryers, and even touchless paper towel dispensers if you didn't want to use the dryers. It definitely gave the station an upscale and well-maintained feel. Before leaving, I grabbed a coffee and croissant from Rosetta Bakery inside the station. The coffee was piping hot and delicious, and the croissant was fresh, fluffy, and buttery. The staff there were also super friendly and helpful. I took some time to walk around and snap a few pictures, and the station itself was very clean, organized, and visually impressive. You can tell they put effort into creating a modern travel experience. The only downside for me was actually during the train ride. I was seated next to someone traveling with a pet, and unfortunately there was a very strong odor coming from either the passenger or the animal. It made the ride pretty uncomfortable. I kept hoping to see a Brightline employee walk through the train so I could ask for a seat reassignment, but surprisingly I never saw a staff member during the ride. I do think Brightline should consider having a better process in place regarding seating near pets, especially because some passengers may have allergies or sensitivities to smells. That said, my experience with the station itself was excellent, and I would still use Brightline again.

I was able to catch the trolley a couple of times, but no matter what time of day I caught it, It was packed. Standing room only. Sometimes it was so packed that the driver just passed me at while I was at the stop and just waved me off. The trolley was relatively clean,, but it appears that there are not many rules, at least ones being enforced. I saw people on the trolley with lots of luggage and even a motorized scooter. The trolley has clearly marked stops, for the most part, but appeared to not be on any type of schedule. There would be 30 to 40 minutes between trolleys, then you would have trolleys 2 back to back. I would say that I was able to catch the trolley about 50% of my attempts. You can track the trolley's movement via the app to keep you updated as to where they are at in real time. The trolley is ADA compliant and most have a lift in the back. They also have A/C, which is a plus. I almost wish that they would charge a small fee like a dollar to ride, to free up some space. It appeared that some people were riding because they were just bored. Anyway, I love this concept and that people have an affordable way to get around the city. I just wish there was more space available on them and that heir schedule was more reliable.
