After purchasing one of their Groupons to take their three hour ride to Freeport, Bahamas we finally decided when we wanted to go. Booking this trip was the stress of working with this company after having a hard time reaching them, then finally booking our trip they had the wrong date and returning on the same day. After speaking with a couple of their customer service representatives Balearia is definitely lacking customer service skills bad over the phone. I called to confirm our reservation a couple of days before travel since we had iffy confirmation when booking and the lady on the phone was very rude, then "couldn't locate our reservation"; all of which I felt she barely tried. Retrieving my confirmation number I had to call back again since the first lady couldn't help me..The second lady let me explain my problem all over again to tell me to call back in 5 mins because her "computer was having issues". By now we are feeling as if this is more of hassle then it is worth. My husband calls them one last time to try to sort out our dates and length of time there to get another headache but a confirmation of what we originally booked the first time, this time correct. The morning of our trip we both were expecting the worst when arriving to the port. {Parking is $15 a day} They advised us to arrive 3 hours early due to security and boarding an hour early on the boat. Security was a breeze along with checking in. The staff was friendly and very quick getting us through. Needless to say on our Saturday morning departing, we did not need to get there so early but we would rather be safe then sorry! (People were still arriving 20 mins before departure). The boat itself is clean and maintained although it is old we actually enjoyed our trip on it! The bar on board opened up at 9am! A relief! They also have lots of duty free items for purchase and casino games on board. A kitchen is on board as well that serves breakfast items, pizza, hamburgers, and such (I would avoid this as much as possible unless drunk :)). Also, if you are thinking of bringing your furry one then they have kennels for you to put them in. And a luggage spot so you can roam around the boat without carrying all your belonging with you at all times. They have a First Class area (I don't see the perks in this) that is closed off to others. For three hours it is a quick and easy ride on this boat! The one thing that might bother people (like my husband) is that when arriving in Freeport they have people that are only staying the day get off the boat first, then Bohemians, then the others staying overnight. This did not bother me but I can see both sides in how it could get under people's skin. It took us about 20-25 mins to get off the boat. Overall, this is definitely not a bad way to get to the Bahamas after booking but expect some hassle and headache when you decide to reach them in office for your reservation. We would do this again with another discount or Groupon but not paying full price.

The Brunch was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel buffet style. The selection of what to eat was pretty good. The best part was once you get on the boat. When you get one they give your Valentine a rose and some chocolate, which was a nice touch. They also had Mimosas during your trip around the Miami Skyline. Now I will say this I which the music on the boat would've been better suited for Valentine's Day. They played more of the Electric/ Techno music but it was still a vibe so can't complain to much about it. Will definitely try to come back on other day. I was a nice experience.

Let me start by saying that I love that this service started from Miami Beach to Downtown and vice…read moreversa, it is GREAT to finally have a ferry, so I am very pleased about it and the ride is beautiful Yesterday I took it for the first time, the boat is great, very comfortable, just perfect, but a few things need improving, I hope that with time things can get better, first of all the slope getting on the boat from Miami Beach is very steep, I have an ankle brace and it was not easy to get on the boat, it is not disabled friendly, then the website, there should not be a service fee to buy tickets on the website, this saves time for the personnel on the boat selling tickets, why a service fee? Also, I could not find anywhere the $3 commuter tickets or packages, I have seen ads from you where you advertise that but, I could not find these anywhere on the website and then, most important of all the delay, we were there 15 minutes before departure as requested and nobody was there, at 6 pm the time the ferry was supposed to leave nobody there, no ferry, no personnel, so I called and they told me the ferry was 15/20 minutes late, I told the guy it would have been good if they texted the people that purchased the tickets online given they have all our details, he said it was posted on the website...............so, who goes back on the website once you have purchased the tickets? You should implement an automatic text alert for the customers that purchased the tickets informing them of the delay, so at 6.15 pm I did receive a text, this was 15 minutes from the original departure time, the alerts should be sent 15 minutes before departure or even earlier if you know there are delays, but ok, room for improvement, the problem is that we only left at 6.40 pm........ 40 minutes late; if you are planning to have commuters using this service you need to make sure that the ferry leaves on time otherwise you will never get this part of business, people need to arrive on time at work and if they are relying on the transportation you provide, you should really make sure to be on time, 5 minutes late it is fine but 40 minutes late it is definitely not. One more thing, you advertise that the crossing takes 20 minutes, yesterday by the time you leave and the time you get there and get off the ferry, it took 40 minutes, I think this is an important information especially for commuters that need to know the right time, if it is like that all the time, maybe you should specify it, I don't mind the 40 minutes but if I had to go to work I would want to know. Overall I love the service but you need to improve the service and if you expand to other places, I saw on the website that you will be going to Coconut Grove in the future, I will for sure use it but please get better so next time I can give you a 5 star @poseidonferry

We went around the mansions and islands of Biscayne Bay for about 90 minutes as the sun set. The tour guide was informative while keeping things light and fun, and the DJ added to the atmosphere by timing songs from artists like Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and Ricky Martin as we passed their homes. There were plenty of photo opportunities, and although the boat was on the smaller side, it didn't feel crowded. The top and front were open-air, with covered seating downstairs. Approaching the lit-up Miami skyline at the end of the ride was a highlight. The boat had a bar with reasonably priced drinks ($5 beers and $10 cocktails) and snacks available for purchase. The only downside was unclear check-in instructions. The email said the booth was inside Bayside Marketplace behind Chili's on the second floor. Right across from Chili's is a storefront for a different tour operator, and downstairs there are at least ten other booths with similar names, which made it confusing. After asking around, we learned the Fiesta Cruises booth was actually outside on the dock--you have to walk through the Tasca Paella restaurant to reach it. Once we found it, check-in and boarding were smooth. Parking at the garage can also be challenging, especially on weekend evenings or during events. My tour coincided with a Miami Heat game next door, which made traffic and parking more difficult and expensive (a $57 flat event rate). The company did send a warning email recommending public transit or rideshare. Even arriving an hour early, it still took about 40 minutes to park and locate the check-in booth.

All in all, it's a nice little boat ride if you're looking to get outside and burn some time in Fort Lauderdale. There is a string of food shops along the waterfront outside the entrance, so you can plan to grab lunch or dinner before or after your ride.
