Ah, Briteline Station. A yellow explosion of everything you didn't ask for in a travel hub…read more Aesthetically, it's like a lemon threw up and said, "NEON." It's a lot to handle, honestly. If airports are elegant chaos, Brightline is... well, a well-intentioned chaos with a touch too much flair. The smell? Oh boy. I don't know if they're going for "fresh" or "citrusy," but it hits you like a scent bomb that's somehow both overwhelming and... confusing? I'm not sure whether I'm in a train station or a high-end cleaning product store. Bathrooms? Peak. They were actually the highlight--clean, functional, and definitely the only place where I felt my dignity was intact. But when you have to do your business on a train with moving bathrooms, it adds a level of adventure I didn't ask for. The whole "swaying while you use the necessary " thing is a unique thrill, though. The store? Closed early the morning Now, let's talk about the train itself--big, comfy, and pretty solid for a ride. The seats are spacious, and the vibe is more "luxurious commuter" than "who's-holding-my-seat" chaos. Would I return? Well, I guess. The train's solid, and the station's got character... even if that character is a bit much. But hey, it's an experience, and sometimes you have to embrace the madness.

It does lose a star for the constant problem (across MetroRail stations) that the machines don't take a variety of debit/credit cards. Otherwise, it's positive that it's so well integrated within its urban environment, with bus stops and a nearby vehicular parking garage. As usual, there's typical anxiety if the train is coming, the trains don't run late enough, and it is so absurd that you have to tap your ticket/card to leave the station - what kind of regressive, criminalization of transit usage is that!? Absolutely needs to be changed. ALL THAT SAID, it's such a net positive to have rail options (with signage and audio message in three (3!) languages) in this urban-surburban-car-dominated-megaopolis - and I support it fully and want MORE investment in stations (better than this) to make it better.

We usually come in via the TriRail and get off at the Metrorail transfer station. From there, we can get to several stations to transfer to a bus or to get to downtown. The trains are clean and they have good climate control. Many people use them and they bring their bikes and scooters on as they embark to a different destination. A good choice if you are in the Miami metro area. We got the Easy card for $2 and then the day pass for less than $6.

An efficient enough site where two rail lines cross and can easily be used by both - and resultingly, densifying neighborhood that surrounds it. The staff is usually always very helpful and kind. The main criticism is that the trains don't come frequently enough! As to the actual station, as usual for a Tri-Rail station there's not enough benches... or trash cans. The Metro-side's construction often takes too long and I'm seriously concerned about the accessibility as a result. In addition, there's also so much anxiety if the train is coming and the trains don't run late enough. While I am sure they pass inspection yearly, they could still use an upgrade. For one they are way too small. When my son was stroller age, I could barely fit his stroller in the elevator. The wheels were barely able to fit through the elevator doors. Transportation itself is ok as long as the trains are not late or stuck on the track. Perhaps this was the motivation to replace the older the trains for newer ones. While I have seen the implementation of newer trains, all trains have not been replaced. I rode two older trains today that reeked of urine and were a little dirty. I am happy to see that they upgrading the trains however. I hope they keep that same energy and give the metro rail stations a makeover.

We loved how clean the trains were, the AC was working very well when we got on. We were even a bit cold inside the train. The signage on approaching stations is very good and the maps and routes printed on the inside of the trains are very useful. The Metrorail offers one easy ride to get you where you need to go. Be from Downtown Miami and Brickell to Coconut Grove and South Miami as well as a quick trip to the airport. There are two distinct rail lines that depart from the Dadeland South station on US1. The Orange line ends at Miami International Airport and back. The Green line runs further up north with connections to the Tri-rail and Virgin MiamiCentral. There are stops along each route at many of Miami's top attractions such as Coconut Grove, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, Brickell, the Lyric Theater, Hialeah and more. Metrorail opened in 1984 and it is Florida's only rapid transit metro system. It is composed of two lines of 23 stations on 24.4 miles of track. Metrorail serves the urban core of Miami, connecting Miami International Airport, the Health District, Downtown Miami, and Brickell with the northern developed neighborhoods of Hialeah and Medley to the northwest, and to suburban The Roads, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and South Miami, ending at urban Dadeland in Kendall. Metrorail connects to the free Metromover in Downtown, which provides metro service to the entirety of Downtown and Brickell area. Additionally, it connects to South Florida's commuter rail system at Tri-Rail station, as well as Metrobus routes at all stations. In 2021, the system had 9,708,200 rides.
