I started using Tri-Rail in 2015, and I think it's a lot of fun and has its advantages. But recently, I discovered Metrorail and noticed huge differences: stops are terrifically short (doors close in about ten seconds), trains come frequently, and delays rarely happen. You NEED a ticket to board the Metrorail since a machine (total of three) has to scan them. This security measure prevents free rides and is undoubtedly more effective than Tri-Rail's. Tickets are cheaper, too. One-Way tickets are $2.25, and Round-Trip tickets are $5.65. They expire at 2:00 am the following day. So with all that being said, I love using the Metrorail route to get across Downtown Miami!

Time accuracy 4/5 Clean 4/5 Speed 5/5 Seat available 5/5 Security 5/5 Price 5/5 It's an easy way to get to places by avoiding all that annoying traffic on rush hour or just not on the mood to bother with parking, set ten times are almost impossible to find parking in Downtown Miami on business days and hours Get the all day pass if planing to use it more than twice or just add value to a card. Also weekly and monthly passes.

Hours 5am to midnight? What a bunch of malarkey! The paper schedule is clearly printed of :"10:29" for example. I was informed l missed THE LAST 940pm train. As this burly Top heavy agent coralled me out of her way, turning locks, shutting things down 1020pm! Weekday. Was SOL in Ft lauderdales windy streets, all motels full no cell battery : ( l had a blast my 1st time, school of hard knocks

The station is located next door to an industrial waste land, but a great connector to get to Downtown Miami.

While I am sure they pass inspection yearly, they could still use an upgrade. For one they are way too small. When my son was stroller age, I could barely fit his stroller in the elevator. The wheels were barely able to fit through the elevator doors. Transportation itself is ok as long as the trains are not late or stuck on the track. Perhaps this was the motivation to replace the older the trains for newer ones. While I have seen the implementation of newer trains, all trains have not been replaced. I rode two older trains today that reeked of urine and were a little dirty. I am happy to see that they upgrading the trains however. I hope they keep that same energy and give the metro rail stations a makeover.

If you take the orange line train north from here you will be headed to the Miami International Airport. It isn't in the safest neighbors so would recommend not going late at night and preferably going with someone. Would recommend coming to this location if you have to head to the airport.

So I drive past this metro station all the time and am intrigued by the Domino art that you can see…read morerunning along the pillars adjacent to the Dixie Highway. Listed below is some information about it all, that I found on the internet. Super cool place to take some instagram worthy shots. ------------------------------------------------- Coral Gables artist Bo Droga is turning the concrete pillars under the University Station Metrorail tracks in Coral Gables into parallel rows of giant dominoes. The art installation is called "Concrete Landscapes Miami," located off Stanford Drive and Ponce de Leon Boulevard. While the giant dominoes are fun to look at and a true tribute to the game's popularity here in South Florida, there is also a mystery. Droga says there is a message in the pattern of numbers and he wants people to try to figure it out. When asked how he selected the domino patterns, Droga responded, "Ah! I can't tell you that. People will need to figure it out ' He is challenging those who visit the installation to figure out the secret domino pattern. Droga is creating his dominoes installation in two phases. The first phase is of 24 columns north of the University Metrorail station, and the second of another 24 columns south of the station. Drogo is transforming the pylons into playful, realistic domino game pieces with help from volunteers: Moms who work with him from about 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on weekdays. Droga said the women, who were all professionals from Paris, France, all met at a yoga class.
