I recently arrived at the Brightline MiamiCentral Station from Orlando, and overall, I had a really…read moregood experience with the station itself. After deboarding, I stopped by the restrooms first and was honestly impressed. They were very clean, modern, and mostly touchless -- touchless soap dispensers, faucets, hand dryers, and even touchless paper towel dispensers if you didn't want to use the dryers. It definitely gave the station an upscale and well-maintained feel. Before leaving, I grabbed a coffee and croissant from Rosetta Bakery inside the station. The coffee was piping hot and delicious, and the croissant was fresh, fluffy, and buttery. The staff there were also super friendly and helpful. I took some time to walk around and snap a few pictures, and the station itself was very clean, organized, and visually impressive. You can tell they put effort into creating a modern travel experience. The only downside for me was actually during the train ride. I was seated next to someone traveling with a pet, and unfortunately there was a very strong odor coming from either the passenger or the animal. It made the ride pretty uncomfortable. I kept hoping to see a Brightline employee walk through the train so I could ask for a seat reassignment, but surprisingly I never saw a staff member during the ride. I do think Brightline should consider having a better process in place regarding seating near pets, especially because some passengers may have allergies or sensitivities to smells. That said, my experience with the station itself was excellent, and I would still use Brightline again.

The Metrorail comes in here but over the last thirty years as the City of Miami has evolved so has their central station. Years ago it was Government Center and I would connect to the metro mover. Now as Downtown has changed this truly is the main station. I come into here from Miami Airport to get to Downtown. Also it backs up into Brightline which is around the corner literally steps away. Lastly all the City buses come through here around the building there is a place a block up for the buses that go 595, in front of the building is buses going every ten minutes or so to the Golden Glades than a few steps from that at the side entrance to Metrorail is the 95 express buses. This place is literally a pu pu platter for all your transportation needs in and out of the City of Miami. I highly recommend it as parking is getting increasingly harder to find as well as expensive. You can get monthly passes which make it even more affordable if you come here daily as I do. Also across the way is a brand new Einstein's for a quick morning bite. It is very well lite in the area so don't let the name Overtown fool you it seems very safe. So far so good.

One I will say that it is new facilities are clean and for the most part employees are relatively helpful. Secondly, I will say that the price of the Brightline trains could be a little bit cheaper. I do think it it is a bit on the pricier side, especially if you are traveling from Aventura to Miami....thirdly. I will say that it is not always on time out of the probably five or six times that I've used it. We have departed on time maybe two or three times; overall would I recommend someone take the brightline? sure if they don't want to drive, but I also would advise them to look into other options just due to the price component of it however, it is located centrally in Aventura and allows you to use another form of transportation outside of driving to get to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and even Orlando.

To be blunt, I'm not sure who this service is for. It's not a commuter train nor is it the…read morecomfortable and easy shot to Disney I expected. It doesn't work well for those with heavy luggage and it's too expensive for families. After checking in, the app dumps you into your return trip, so you might not realize you're in the wrong seat because it defaults to the wrong QR code. It's also impossible to cancel your trip from the app. Once you're able to access it via Chrome, at best, you're refunded 15% of your ticket and that's just as more BL credit. Generally, I found both stations inaccessible and inefficient outside of the fact they have plugs on almost every chair. The Aventura station had hellishly loud music and required walking across a pedestrian bridge with escalators that were extremely small for a train that caters to people with luggage. Both directions they waited until 5-8 minutes before boarding to let everyone down to the platform (the number of which was an exciting surprise because they don't list it in writing anywhere but make an announcement on the loud speaker which could hamper those who are deaf or HOH) so it was a rush and would be difficult for slow walkers or people with a cane, walker, or injury. The top reason I would not personally recommend BL was the cell service - little to no cell service for the majority of the last leg of the trip. So I got to spend a surprise 2 hours in SOS/one bar mode with a screaming baby on my train. Although my trip back was better (no baby, full 4 seat area to myself, prepared and downloaded videos, train was mostly on time) I just don't see myself taking Brightline again. So what changes could they make? Well they could list the track number on the boards. Offer pre-board to those who need more time. They could have specific trains be direct from MIA/FLL to Orlando. They could have 21+/business cars and separate family cars with stroller parking, a changing table and a small child seat in the bathroom, as well as booster seats with seatbelts. Food could be ordered via the app (not a QR code). And finally they could make sure offboarding can take place from any car. All that being said, I preferred flying and don't see myself using them again.

It does lose a star for the constant problem (across MetroRail stations) that the machines don't take a variety of debit/credit cards. Otherwise, it's positive that it's so well integrated within its urban environment, with bus stops and a nearby vehicular parking garage. As usual, there's typical anxiety if the train is coming, the trains don't run late enough, and it is so absurd that you have to tap your ticket/card to leave the station - what kind of regressive, criminalization of transit usage is that!? Absolutely needs to be changed. ALL THAT SAID, it's such a net positive to have rail options (with signage and audio message in three (3!) languages) in this urban-surburban-car-dominated-megaopolis - and I support it fully and want MORE investment in stations (better than this) to make it better.

We usually come in via the TriRail and get off at the Metrorail transfer station. From there, we can get to several stations to transfer to a bus or to get to downtown. The trains are clean and they have good climate control. Many people use them and they bring their bikes and scooters on as they embark to a different destination. A good choice if you are in the Miami metro area. We got the Easy card for $2 and then the day pass for less than $6.
