This is not the first time we have been here. This is the most horrible experience we have had here. We had reservations for 1:30 pm and did not get seated until 2:00 pm. Once seated it took 30 more minutes to get water. Yes, it's Mother's Day - and they have a prix fixe menu, so there should be no excuses about taking orders or bringing stuff out. The table next to us told us it took them 30 minutes to get their biscuits for the table. We are still waiting. Our server took our drink orders and we still haven't received it yet. Oh and they have already ran out of food. Obviously they are not prepared for today. Now we only got two biscuits for a table of 4 - make that make sense. I will update later about the rest of the experience. There is nothing to update because we left the restaurant. I spoke with one manager who just came on shift and she had no idea what was going on. Another manager came to our table and ended up being rude and obnoxious and essentially told us to leave. All I can do is SMH and hope Metro figures it out. But from the look of things they had a lot of issues on sunday.

We came in for dinner on NYE and had checked out the menu on line ahead of time. The weekly menu showed a steak available, which wasn't when we arrived. Not to worry, as they had short ribs with polenta. I was sold. We started the evening with a martini for my husband and iced tea for me. I should have asked if the tea was flavored. It was, which I don't care for. I had a simple salad with goat cheese. Nothing fancy and very good. My husband had oysters, which he enjoyed. He really liked the paella. The short ribs were good, if a bit too rich for me and had quite lot of fat. We had the lemon pudding cake for dessert, which was just ok. We'd been wanting to come here for quite a while. It was a good meal, though quite expensive. Service was good and not rushed.

Love metro!! They made a birthday very special! Great service. I love the seasonal cocktails. The green beans were good as always. The burger here is one of the best but today a bit overcooked. Despite that great flavor! And those fries so crisp!

    Too good! Top notch delish

My husband and I had came to this place back in 2016. It took me forever to try to find this restaurant. My experience the last couple times was very pleasant as well as this last time. Our server, Jim was very attentive, considerate, approachable, And came to check up on us every now and then. The food has always been really delicious. I like the vibe here, I love the table right next to the fireplace. It's very compatible for my taste. The heirloom tomatoes with mozzarella was top notch. Delicious definitely coming back here in the future.

Gosh, I think it's been over 10 years maybe more since we've been to Metro. It is such a wonderful restaurant with consistently great flavors. We ordered pretty much everything on the menu, including the gnocchi, burger, lobster, BLT, chop salad, brussels sprouts, corn soup, truffle, Parmesan fries, And enjoyed it all. I was very disappointed that they don't carry the metro Sundae anymore. That has always been my favorite dessert. The service is impeccable and I highly recommend sitting in the fireplace room for great ambience but if you want a hip or vibe, then sit near the bar I love sitting outside, but it was a little chilly today. Highly recommend Metro Lafayette.

Lovely lunch today at Metro. I had never been here before but wanted to give it a try. We sat out on the patio which was very lovely. It wasn't crowded but the tables were spaced apart nicely so that even if it was, you wouldn't feel jammed in. Our server greeted us promptly and was very attentive the entire meal. Hats off to Vita! We started off with the mushroom flatbread with gruyere cheese. Both of us added salt and pepper and I hardly ever do that when I'm out, but honestly I felt the mushrooms were the issue as they were highly under seasoned. I ordered the Croque Monsieur and my table mate ordered the burger. My Croque Monsieur was absolutely delicious! A home run for sure and substantial enough that I could only eat half. It came with fries which were very delicious. I'm glad they weren't overly salty as I prefer fries not so salty. My tablemate asked for his burger medium rare and it came out well. He did enjoy the burger but I will never understand why restaurants ask you how you want it cooked and then don't cook it the way you ask or at least close to what you ask for. We really did enjoy our lunch though. I would definitely come back. The menu had a nice variety, I enjoyed my lunch and everyone who works there was very nice and attentive.

Menu items are on the high side, so be prepared to shell out some dough. We had a nice waiter, pleasant, cheerful, and very accommodating. I would give the waiter a rating between 4 and 5 stars. It was near closing time when we got there, but we didn't feel rushed to order or eat our dinner so that they could clean up and close the restaurant and head on home. We started with an appetizer and garlic bread (see picture). We had about six pieces of bread and as you can see in the picture, it was on the burnt side. I cannot believe that for the price you pay for a bread, they would serve this. I also ordered a black coffee, but it tasted like it had been sitting there since the morning and tasted really nasty. I asked to have a hot tea instead. Food was good. We ordered spaghetti, carbonara, some chicken dish, and a grilled salmon. All the food tasted delicious and we cleaned out the carbonara and spaghetti. After we ate our dinner, they gave my son-in-law a slice of tiramisu with a lighted candle. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and we enjoyed our food (except for the garlic bread). I'd like to see them do me good and give me a nice garlic bread the next time I eat here.

Parking is free, the outdoor space is nice, and we were quickly seated. After that, it was all down hill. We ordered off the happy hour menu - caesar, cheese plate, shishitos, sliders, and a couple of drinks (none of the specialty cocktails are on happy hour). The beers were the best thing, then the shishitos. Our cheese plate was completely INEDIBLE. You could tell that it had been sitting out for a very long time because the cheese was sweaty and some pieces were MOLDY - like the edge piece of a hard cheese after it's been in your fridge for a while that you cut off and throw away. The grapes were shriveled as well. Not sure how this is acceptable to serve. Supposedly it was made earlier for room service. All they did was take it off the bill and barely apologized - we were in a hurry since it took about 20/25 minutes for everything to even come out and could not wait for them to remake it. Idk, it was appalling and I was hoping for more restitution. Will not be recommending.

One of the best parts of the experience is the staff; they are genuinely friendly and clearly happy to be there. It's refreshing to see leadership prioritize employee well-being by allowing a comfortable dress code of t-shirts and jeans--it creates a positive energy that definitely translates to the service. The food, however, is the real star. Here is a breakdown of the must-try items: The Brunch Highlights * Tornado Galbi Omurice: This is the absolute showstopper. When prepared correctly, the twisted scrambled egg forms a perfect golden dome over the rice. Breaking it open to reveal the seasoned rice inside, all swimming in that rich Galbi sauce, feels like opening a box of treasures. * Millionaire's Bacon Flights: You can't go to Sweet Maple and not try the bacon. The flight is the best way to experience the different glazes, and they are consistently "to die for." * Pimped Up Ramyun & Chicken Croffle: Both are fantastic choices if you're looking for a savory-sweet balance or a spicy kick. A pro-tip for fans of the Chicken Croffle: it's a rare find on their menu--available only at a couple of locations, including right here in Walnut Creek. The Drinks To wash it all down, the Ube Latte and Matcha Latte are essential. They aren't just photo-worthy; they are the perfect earthy and creamy pairings for the heavy, flavorful brunch dishes. Room for Discovery While the savory menu is hard to beat, I still have the Coconut Moffle with Brie on my radar for next time. If it's anything like the rest of the menu, it's bound to be a hit. The eggs were fluffy and the shrimp, bacon, and scallions were nicely mixed in there. The potatoes and the bread were also great sides. The bread was perfectly toasted and crisp on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. They also have outdoor seating but beware this place can get pretty crowded on the weekends.

I'm glad we were seated here as it was mellower than the louder and busier inside. After ordering our drinks, we checked out the menu and decided to share two starters: Calamari with house made tartar and cocktail sauce - it was good. Lightly battered and crispy. Zucchini Fries - a heaping portion of fries topped with parmigiano Reggiano and a house made lemon basil aioli for dipping. Never had these types of fries. Cut shoestring style and they were light and delicious. The served a complementary bread basket with butter. It consisted of sourdough slices, Focaccia squares and a bread crisp slice. House French bread - love warm bread and butter. So good that we asked for refills. I had the Joe's House made Ravioli - a generous portion of beef and spinach filled raviolis in a meat sauce topped with Parmesan Reggiano. I just wished the raviolis had a thicker filling. Other entrees ordered by our group were spaghetti and meatballs, House made beef lasagna and bone-in veal Milanese. Everyone was happy with their orders. When we left, the restaurant was still crowded and there was a waiting line. Service was friendly, accommodating and efficient. The food in this place was good but the service was so bad at some point I felt like it was a torture. The place was kind of empty not too many table were full but the waiter just would be gone for long and wouldn't come ask if we needed anything. The wait between meals like appetizer and main course was so long not because of kitchen but the server was just gone for long at a stretch. He kept telling us how he knew the owner and his wife and has come to this place for 100 times over years and everything is free for him here. This was all ok but I wasn't sure why he wasn't letting us eat our meal in peace. At some point he became a little racist as well, when we tried to take our food goto he told us i won't take this goto. I never take this goto. I understand this restaurant might have some old and familiar guest or important people come to this place but they should understand other guest should still be able to enjoy there meal without being bothered by the people who are known. It was one of my worse restaurant experiences, the service and on top of this man who somehow is VIP guest at this place made it so hard for us to have our date night meal in peace. I literally tried to run away from this place. This was almost 2 hrs long ordeal. We came a little before 6 and left at 8 and I never eat for that long.
