    Salmon with beurre blanc
    Brittany B.

This was my second visit to Atria, and I was not at all disappointed! As before, I had the field greens salad with stonefruit, pistachios, goat cheese, and a champagne vinaigrette. It was the star of the week in my opinion, and it is a definite contender for a good I would eat if I was stuck on a desert island for the rest of my life. Next, I had the seared scallop dish. The flavor of the scallops was phenomenal, and they weren't overcooked and rubbery, which is something that is hard to find when ordering scallops. The only drawback was the Beurre Blanc and veggies, which were pretty lackluster in flavor and added nothing to the dish. I paired my meal with a gorgeous Napa Valley Chardonnay called Miner. It was refreshing and light with a slightly buttery taste with a subtle fruit fragrance. As for the service, all of the wait staff I spoke to were friendly and made great suggestions. I loved the relaxed atmosphere- you could sit in an intimate circle of arm chairs, or watch the game at the bar. I will definitely return in my next business trip in Walnut Creek!

This restaurant is co-located with the Marriotts Hotel property! Unexpectedly very good food! Came for a meeting about an event and decided to eat at the restaurant! The Steak was cooked to perfection..tender and not chewy with a nice balance of oil and cilantro flavors. Don't have a picture of the chicken dish but it was soo good, forgot to take a before pic..chicken was tender and not dry with a nice but not overpowering lemon sauce. The salmon dish is not pictured either because again, got a little too excited but the fish was nice and flaky with a nice miso sauce that wasn't too salty. We ordered dessert and the red velvet was unique with its cream cheese texture evenly matched with red velvet cake that was amazing! The sliders was also good (if you're looking to have something small) the beef was cook well and had this special dressing I could not describe but my mouth liked it! I would have given them five stars except the food took a little longer to come to us than normal! But the goodness of it made up for it and the great customer service!!!

    They do flights of bourbon!

Atrio is giving me all kinds of life right now with that happy hour! Happy hour is ON POINT, y'all! I kinda don't wanna tell anyone about this place because I don't want it to be crowded the next time that I come in. What a nice little surprise! I've known about this bar for quite sometime now, but finally made it inside recently. This bar is located on the bottom floor of the Walnut Creek Marriott. In my experience, hotel bars can be really wonderful or absolutely terrible. I'm happy to report that Atrio is fantastic! I loooove the setup! Super spacious with high ceilings and a beautiful red color scheme. Very fancy looking decor and beautiful light fixtures! Comfy sofas are available if you don't wanna sit at the actual bar top. The bar is lovely! It's centered right in the middle of the room and has 3 large TV's that are perfect for game viewing. But, that happy hour though! From 3-6pm during the weekdays, you can indulge in $6 bar bites and $5 house wine, draft beer, and well cocktails. Noooiiice!!! That's that type of stuff that Shayla likes! I ended up with 2 glasses of their happy hour house red Cab and Pinot, and their happy hour roasted cauliflower and baby pork riblets. The wine was house, so it wasn't the best that I've ever had. BUT, it was good and cheap! That's all that really matters when you're coming for happy hour. The roasted cauliflower could have been a little more "roasted", but it was cheesy and I really liked the dipping sauce that it came with. The pork riblets literally stole the show for me. They were fingerlickin' GOOD! I think I probably scarfed them bad boys down in record time with no evidence left on my fingers or face. Those damn thangs were the BOOOMB! I probably would have ordered another round if I hadn't had the cauliflower. But heeeey, there's always next time (wink wink)! I loved that it wasn't super crowded inside even though it has the capacity to be. It seemed like the crowd was a mix of hotel guests and people who work nearby. Bar service was spot on! I didn't have to wait long for anything and the bartender checked in on me several times. I noticed that they do bourbon flights here! I'm not a huge fan of bourbon, but would love to try a wine flight if they have anything like that. They also had some decent beers on tap. The only thing I'm not too sure about is the parking situation?! I parked um.... somewhere I probably shouldn't have (ssshhhh!). But, I'll have to find out if they allow free parking for their bar patrons. All in all, I'm super impressed! Another Walnut Creek hidden gem exposed! Can't wait to check it out again soon.

Kimchi Burger Special with fries, and their hummus platter in the background

I have been here twice, and don't let the fact that this is a hotel restaurant fool you into thinking you should skip. Whoever creates this recipes has a gift for coming up with all of it INCLUDING THE SPECIALS. And the kitchen has a gift too for being able to execute it. There are some stand out in their normal menu like their half roasted chicken, which is crispy and flavorful and so so so juicy with tender veggies and some yummy potatoes. But where they really really shine is through their specials, they are so creative with the flavors and they have yet to disappoint, I must say the Kimchi Burger is quite possibly the best burger i've had in my life. But not only is the food spectacular but so is the staff, so kind and attentive. I'm sad i can only visit this place when i travel because they are quite possibly the best restaurant i've had in a long time, but they are right under everyone's noses just cause they are in the marriott, but don't be fooled and please please give this place a shot, cause they will blow ur expectations out of the water

Very pleasant, unexpected find. Came to enjoy some local musicians and was pretty blown away by the fantastic service (our waiter was Ryan - seriously one of the best waiters that we've ever had, 5 stars for Ryan alone). Chef did an amazing job with the food, beautiful and delicious. Minor criticism would be that the finishing sauces are very repetitive. A must try dish included the grilled octopus, but everything we ordered was very well prepared and easy to enjoy. Wine and beer selection was good, once again our waiter Ryan made really excellent recommendations with very helpful and accurate descriptions (something very special about a waiter or waitress that can do that). Music turned out to be very special as well. Volume level was perfect to enjoy, while not struggling to have a conversation at our table. Nice ambiance and atmosphere. We'll be sure to come back.

Burger was overdone and fries were limp-nothing exciting

For my experience when I visited one afternoon while waiting for a car service nearby, there were plenty of staff mindlessly milling about and looking right at you or past you, but who didn't bother to take an order, bring the bill, much less check in during meal. Lots of waiting and being left alone. Annoying since they weren't busy. My guy ordered his burger medium-well and it came out down well-done. Despite being loaded with trimmings, the burger fell quite short compared to recent burger experiences. Fries were limp and lacking much flavor. Artichoke was partially charred and served with butter. It was decent but again flavor wasn't a stand-out. Nothing memorable. The guacamole was DEFINITELY not worth-getting unless you've been on a desert island with no guacamole for 7 years...but even then, this would probably disappoint. Drinks were okay-nothing to write home about. As you can tell, I definitely wasn't feeling the vibe, and would definitely skip this spot when in the area.

    Crab and prawn cakes
    Gretchen T.

I ordered the clam chowder in a sourdough bowl and the crab and prawn cakes. The sourdough bowl was the tiniest bread bowl I've ever seen. But it was the perfect amount for me to finish the whole thing, and the clam chowder was delicious! It had so much flavor and a bunch of bacon and clams. The crab cakes were pretty good. I felt like it was mostly filler. I could barely figure out there was prawns in it besides a little hint of flavor.

    Tasty clam chowder
    L C.

My boyfriend and I had a $60 gift certificate to spend on lunch here so we made the most of it and ordered: - clam chowder bread bowl appetizer - crab cakes - bacon burger - seafood pasta The clam chowder was surprisingly tasty. The crab cakes were fine but a little on the salty side. The burger was a good value. The seafood pasta, however, was a disappointment. The sauce was watery and flavorless. Overall, it was fine for a hotel restaurant. Our waitress and food runner were extremely friendly. Would I come back here if I didn't have a gift certificate to use? No. Save your money and head out to one of the many hot spots in downtown Walnut Creek.

Not a bad place to eat - I mean inside a Marriott and you can get pretty darn good food - the service is normally pretty good too - place is always clean and the selection is typical California style. However, the draw back is the price, but then - again - California!

I did not even think to alert my friends about what I read because I thought after reading other Yelp reviews and looking up their Instagram posts with beautiful photos and people looking like they were enjoying this restaurant, that what was described in that 1-star review must have been a rare occurrence. Boy was I wrong because to my dismay when we arrived at their restaurant door last evening, it happened to us and I did not want to believe it, but all the evidence was there to show they were in fact, CLOSED. Two other customers and our group arrived at the same time in advance of our 6pm reservation time, only to see their door closed, lights off, with nobody inside. We were confused not only because we did not receive a message notifying us that their restaurant would be closed and our reservation needed to be canceled, but also because the customers who arrived when we did said they had booked their reservation yesterday, meaning the reservation system was still active. What's more is we did not see any signage on their door or windows about being closed, but instead we saw an EBMUD notice on the door stating water service payment was overdue, which we were not expecting to see upon our arrival. Our group needed to quickly figure out a plan B for our birthday celebration dinner, as our friend had planned and reserved The Library Social Club over a month ago. I dine at many restaurants and any time there needs to be a change or cancelation for any reason by a restaurant business, I have received an e-mail, a text, or a phone call alert, as a customer courtesy call, and I have at the very least, even seen hand written notes on restaurant doors and windows as signage alerting customers of their business being closed. Needless to say, we were disappointed and frustrated by this incident today. We drove from out of town to try this restaurant that was not even open when customers had reservations. Fortunately, our friend proposed a different restaurant that we could walk to and they sat us promptly upon arrival. We enjoyed their delicious food instead!

The entire collection of wine was exposed to heat and ruined but they are still selling it to unknowing customers. Many of the wines that I inspected had corks bulging out past the foil and were discolored. The Syrah I picked and thought was safe looked good but under the foil, the cork was bad and yes the wine was rancid. I wish that was just a side story but the glass of wine I purchased was also foul. It was the most expensive Napa Cab they serve. I asked a few times how long the bottle was open and he did not know but guessed maybe a night or two before. This tells me a few things; they are not keeping wine fresh or pumping out the air or using a Coravin system for example. They are not writing the date opened even. Also in my personal opinion, the wines here are the lower tier to keep pricing down and profits high. It just makes the experience low for the customer. Lastly I did have a cheese plate and it was also terrible. The staff have no knowledge of wine. So it just ends up being a happy hour place for people to drink cheap wine. I'm sorry for the former failed business and appreciate trying to take it over but the business model is not working. It's not worthy of business woman of the year unfortunately. It took about 20 minutes to receive our wine and when she brought it to us she never let us taste the wine before pouring it, which I have never experienced at any other winery. After leaving it took an extra 10 minutes to receive our order of French fries, luckily the water machine was right next to us so whenever we needed a refill we could just get up and get it ourselves! We almost asked them to not even bring out the bread because it had been 45 minutes after ordering before it came to our table. The appetizer portions were generous and satisfying. The mussels were cooked perfectly with a flavorful sauce that had us finishing every bite. The truffle fries were hot and crispy, served with ketchup and aioli. The Brussels sprouts had the perfect crisp in every layer, while the onion, apple, and bacon balanced the dish really well. Unfortunately, the lamb chops completely changed the experience. When the plate arrived, both my husband and I immediately noticed how small the portion was for a $45 entrée -- just a few lamb chops and four small carrots. Compared to the appetizers, it honestly felt more like an appetizer than a main course. I ordered mine medium rare, but my pieces came out rare and chewy with quite a bit of fat, leaving one bite of meat per piece. My husband's pieces were cooked more accurately, but his cuts were a little thicker than mine. For the price point, the dish simply didn't feel worth it or satisfying enough to be considered a true entrée. For two people, including tip, the bill was over $200. We would return, but next time we'd stick to cocktails and appetizers, because that's definitely where Chateau shines.
