Thanks to Makiah's professionalism, patience, and knowledge, it was an easygoing process that prevented distress. Makiah did an exceptional job addressing customers and checking them in to ensure the wait times weren't as lengthy. Very appreciative of this pleasant customer service and relieved I didn't have to change carriers!

After getting the runaround from two T-Mobile locations, I finally ended up at the Ashley River Road location in West Ashley, Charleston, SC, on 12/23. A female associate confirmed I could trade in my wife's phone with no issues, but I had trouble deactivating her Stolen Device Protection because of facial recognition. She told me to come back the next day (12/24) once it was disabled in person, and everything would be fine. Today, I came back, but the associate wasn't there, and Cory helped me instead. From the jump, his attitude was smug. When I explained the situation, he barely acknowledged me. I handed him the phone, and he immediately slid it back across the table, almost sending it to the floor, saying, "I CAN'T TAKE THAT PHONE." Confused, I asked why, since the phone is paid off. He responded that the back was shattered, but I reminded him it still qualifies under T-Mobile's 4-point inspection policy. Cory told me to try another store because he wasn't taking the phone, even though it qualifies under their policy. What really got to me was how he handled the Caucasian male before me with respect and care, but treated me with clear hostility. I left to run an errand and told him I'd be back because I needed to break the bad news to my wife. When I returned, Cory still had the same attitude, this time with an even more blatant racist tone. What you're about to see is my reaction to being fed up with the racism from individuals like me. Once I defended myself he then do what all aggressors do when met with someone that's not willing to back down or cower from them and that's call the POLICE. Yes he called the cops on me. Let that sink in I defended myself from his disrespect he showed thru racism now all of a sudden he was a victim. Gaslighting at its finest. Btw I'm trespassed from this location also. I had initially planned to upgrade my own line to the iPhone 16 Pro Max after Christmas as well, but after this experience, I no longer feel respected or valued as a T-Mobile customer. Although I was able to successfully upgrade my wife's line at another location that took the trade-in with no issues, this ordeal has left a bad taste in my mouth. It's been almost a week, and no one has made an effort to right these wrongs, leaving me questioning whether I want to continue investing my hard-earned money into a company that has shown such disregard for my experience. UPDATE 12/30/2024 I'm writing this update after seeing the owner's reply to my initial review, and honestly, it just reinforces the sentiment I've had throughout this entire ordeal--that this location, and by extension T-Mobile, does not care about its customers, especially minorities. Their response was condescending and dismissive, essentially saying, "Oh, I'm sorry you expected to be treated with respect and care as a customer, but if you don't like it, just go somewhere else." This is the kind of tone you get when you've dealt with blatant racism in their store? Instead of addressing the serious concerns I raised about how I was treated, they brushed it off like it's nothing. I experienced racism--blatant racism--at the hands of an associate in this store. And now, instead of accountability or a genuine effort to make things right, I'm being told to take my business elsewhere. It's not just disappointing--it's sad. This isn't just about bad customer service; it's about the lack of respect and regard for me as a paying customer and, frankly, as a human being. T-Mobile needs to hold this location accountable for its actions. Responses like this show that they aren't interested in addressing the deeper issues, and that's unacceptable.

I've utilized the scheduling option online but for the most recent trip did a walk-in. There was a handful of crew members ready and eager to help out on a Saturday morning. No wait time since we were purchasing so turnaround time was about 30 minutes. From my experience in the past, repairs can take about 2 hours so bring books or busy work to keep yourself entertained or stroll around downtown. I enjoyed my iPhone 12 mini but love to take photos so wanted something a little bigger space-wise. Zach took great care of my dad and I so kudos to his courteous, professional, knowledgeable assistance. He shared some pointers and the one I found most helpful is that my old phone could cross over to the new one if they're near each other so no hard feelings if you haven't backed up your phone in months! It was estimated 2-4 hours but once I connected to home wifi it took only 35 minutes. Overall had a quick, efficient visit. Zach helped make the trip a pleasant one with his active listening and patience with explaining phone activation steps!

First let me start with the fact that my husband had been with Xfinity for 7 years. I had been with…read moreAT&T since day one but switched in August of 2023 to T-Mobile. My husband went into Xfinity said to the young lady I've been with you for 7 years I'd like to upgrade my phone I have the iPhone 11 what can you do for me? She pulled up his account & said, absolutely nothing because you don't have our internet anymore. He said no I had it for about a year but didn't like it so I went with somebody else. She said then there's nothing we can do. I said even though he's been with you for 7 years, she said nope. So we walked out and we went to Costco to the T-Mobile stand there. I will say we had seen people there every time we go to Costco but I never even thought about going through them I thought you had to go through an actual Store not a stall. Without a doubt one of the best experiences either one of us had. We were greeted by Joseph Columby, he wasn't pushy he wasn't sales pitchy he literally listened to what my husband wanted and got him in one. Then he mentioned that they didn't have the Galaxy S25 Edge, my husband chose there. Said he could order it and we probably would have it by Friday this was on Wednesday. My husband then said how about if I take over my wife's bill and join on her account. He took care of everything for us we had to do absolutely nothing ourselves. And it was flawless. We left there feeling very good about it and instantly that evening got an email from UPS stating that his phone was going to arrive Friday. Friday morning we got up and I watched the driver map app and saw that the phone was around the corner walked out got the package and text Joseph letting him know that we had got the phone and would he be there? He had offered to move everything over to the new phone for my husband. We went to the store in Costco and he moved everything over for my husband and while there I chatted with both Anthony C and Elizabeth Baczek and overheard their encounters with customers. There wasn't one person that left there upset or disgruntled everybody was handled like honestly, like a family member. We left with my husband's new phone and we were told about the gift card you get from Costco and from T-Mobile for getting your phone there. That's another thing that T-Mobile is very good about is rewarding their customers. I Also get Netflix and Apple TV free through T-Mobile. One more benefit is the T-Mobile Tuesdays. I have received Stadium bags, drink bottles, a personalized calendar, (I paid the very cheap shipping), Grill spatulas and much more. I will finish this with saying the group that T-Mobile has out at the Costco in West Ashley is an amazing group of people and they deserve to see this review about their work. Have a great day everybody and next time you're in Costco pop over to the T-Mobile stand and see if they can get you into a better contract then you're in now. If I could give this a higher rating I would give it a 10. I always say when somebody does something over and above you want to make sure to write a review so that hopefully their company is aware of it. Oh one more thing I had mentioned to Joseph that my husband got a cord but needed one of those plugs that go into the wall to charge his phone because he had the iPhone chargers and they don't fit with these phones. I use my Chromebook to charge my phone on. He walked me over to an area by the stall and said this just arrived and it was a 2 pack with the cords the wall plug the chargers everything like 30 bucks or something it was perfect we grabbed it and we took off. It's just refreshing to go somewhere to purchase an important item and not have stress and unanswered questions when you leave.
