Second bad experience I've had at this location. Guy with the long dreads is absolutely rude. Didn't want to help, didn't want look at my phone that was having issues, he just kept talking over me! honestly the worst Verizon experience and service ever. if I could give this place any kind of rating it would be 0 /100. was told by Verizon that I was to give a order number to get a replacement phone and then told by these horrible employees that "they don't do replacement phones here" even after I showed order number and messages directly from Verizon support themselves. then as I had them speak to my mother to get more information about the situation since she was the one who set it up. they proceeded to give attitude with sucking teeth or making faces due to the frustration in my moms voice having because she already had spent hours talking to Verizon and agreements were already made in advanced and then to be told something completely different from what was already said to be down from Verizon... all they kept trying to do in store was give the run around and say we needed to buy this or pay something. when that was not agreed upon before I came to the store. my mom's connection disconnected and the call dropped due to service in her area but as that happened they then ridiculed my mother right in front of me with ignorant comments and when I had asked for the associates to delete my moms number from their work phone they said "I'll gladly do that and make sure she never calls back again" I have never in my life dealt this this type of disrespect or discrimination in my life. I'm appalled that these are the people representing Verizon. I've never had an issue I own many phone lines currently open with Verizon and have been with Verizon for over 20 years now. this was ridiculous. As I was waiting as well they were talking trash on other customers. And saying how one of their employees was drunk. These people arent who I will ever do business with. I will never buy from or work this store again and Verizon should definitely not tolerate this completely unacceptable service I received today. I hope these employees are written up or given some type of disciplinary action because this was just highly inappropriate behavior. I will be sending this to corporate as well I have contacts with people in Verizon as I will be escalating this situation because this was just so disgusting, distasteful and disgraceful and unacceptable. He finally came over to help me and it took him about 10 minutes to complete the process. He just made me wait on purpose. I had an issue with my account. Locked out. No one at the 800 number could fix it, tech could not fix it so they sent me to my local store. The man at the store wanted to know why I was sent there. Told me it wasn't his job. He called someone who was to call me back the next day who may or may not be able to help. Yes, I was aggravated but this guy was rude. If you are not going to buy anything, they don't want to help. I finally figured out the issue myself. I spoke to 6 people at Verizon that didn't have a clue for 2 weeks. The support at this location leaves a lot to be desire. There is no organized way to be signed in besides a manager that is not very customer oriented. I observed him being very condescending to an older couple. He told me and another gentleman to replace our screen protector it would be about $50 to $60. The gentleman left and I stayed and it was only about $25. He was slow to acknowledge customers coming in, just leaving people standing at the door. It seemed as if he was trying to frustrate customers into leaving by being rude and ignoring them as they came. Mt Pleasant location delivers a much better customer experience. read more

Really dishonest, and to make it worse the slowest service out there. We were there to upgrade phone. The employee told us she had found a great offer resulting in an monthly increase of only $30. We didn't buy it. When we went home we discovered she was lying to us saying that the great plan she found included protection and hotspot. We found out those are elective services. We were able to do it online and saved $40 per month by not selecting those two services. read more

Great store! Employees are so nice! I was in the store today where a woman was fussing and had no patience due to her or boyfriend's account not being authorized. The employees handled her so nicely. I had to come and praise their patience despite it being the end of the night and they were obviously short staffed. The employees explained for security reasons, they don't keep every phone out. Obviously that was a problem for her. Thank you for handling the customers with respect and courtesy despite dealing with crazy situations. Worst customer service, but expected from Verizon as their customer service is always horrible. My boyfriend checked in and waited and hour only to find out that because it's a shared plan, he doesn't have access to his account. While we proceeded to fix the issue, as told by our representative, he walked away to help someone else. However, the person he was helping had the same issue and he proceeded to stay with her until she fixed her issue. Our issue was fixed and he said we would have to now wait until he was done with her. We were also told that everyone needs to get the same service and they won't rush through. Funny how they had no problem waking away from us to give someone else that courtesy. Cut to another 30 minutes later and the phone is in a safe that will take 10 minutes to open. Sorry, but this is a phone store. Didn't realize phones are locked up and take 10 minutes get?? We are now going on 1 hour and 45 minutes and counting still waiting with no one in sight. At this point it doesn't matter how this ends. Total incompetence and rudeness seem to be Verizon's norm. Couldn't be more disgusted with the workers and Verizon's standards. read more

I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and there was a fair wait (about 30 minutes) for only 2 customers ahead of us in line. While that would have normally impacted my rating of the store (in terms of the wait), the store representative (Ava) who assisted my mother and I was outstanding. While we knew which hotspot device we wanted to purchase, the data plan we wanted was not available with my current cell phone plan. She was incredibly patient and went over the cost comparison if I changed my cell phone plan in order to get the hotspot wireless plan we wanted. She even took the time to explain how to use the hotspot device (finding the wireless name and password, etc.). One great store representative can make a Yelp review, and Ava certainly did that! read more

There is Bad and then there is Verizon bad. Checked in and there was a 35 minute wait. I asked if they had a Lifeproof case for me phone and was told yes. I also wanted a new iPad. Finally I was told I was next. The representative Rod was looking for another name. When I said I was next and told him my name he reluctantly agreed. He went to find the phone case I wanted and came back and said they didn't have it. I asked why if I was next he skipped me. He lied and said I wasn't next. I went in to this Verizon store about 30 minutes before they closed. (Usually I wouldn't do that, but it was an emergency.) I was greeted as soon as I walked in and put on the waiting list. I didn't wait long; it gave me the perfect amount of time to look around at phones by myself. The guy was super helpful and super nice. I didn't feel pressure to buy anything or change anything whatsoever. He even found a way to save me money on my existing plan! We chatted about my options and I got his card before I left. I have been with Verizon for awhile and long ago gave up on the in store experience. When the new phone I wanted dropped recently I couldn't wait to upgrade due to smashed phone syndrome on my current device. I wasn't optimistic that Verizon could assist due to my plans special needs, but I figured I'd at least try. At first this review was 1 star. I entered, talked to the rep, and tried to upgrade. They told me no and I walked out. Then all the review stars came rushing back as I got a call from Jay and Christina asking me to come in and they would do everything they could to help me. I was really astonished, and decided to give them another chance. They both worked diligently behind the screen, checking menus and talking with me throughout the process to make sure all was going as I expected. They were friendly and helpful. Making the process a breeze as we worked to utilize a loophole that allowed me to keep my unlimited data. You can't ask for more than that from a cellphone store. Solid 5 stars. read more

I called Verizon to switch to FIOS. I was VERY LUCKY to get connected to a wonderful young woman ... Corinne....a former New Yorker, now at the South Carolina office. Let me say this: she was AMAZING!!! I had just gotten off the phone with my current provider: ALTICE. [ Now, let me say this: I had been with Cablevision of NJ when cable was brand new. Then it became Optimum. Still no complaints. The price kept edging up higher and higher, but the customer service was nonpareil.... just tops! Then... along came ALTICE! I had to jump through hoops to switch over from Optimum to Altice (which was advertised as something "magical"). Believe me.... pixelation and freezing, no rewind, no instructions... those were bad enough; but then.... I got my bill!!! My monthly bill jumped an additonal $45 because I had switched to Alice! PLUS a CHARGE for installation (THAT was another fiasco!).] Now, feeling betrayed by a company I had been with for 40+years, I phoned FIOS. Lucky me! I got Corinne! Charming... gracious... she listened to my mini-tirade regarding Optimum. She asked me exactly why I was unhappy with Altice. What makes you feel better than another person willing to hear your complaints? And offer to help you find a better deal? Less money. More options. More features. But best of all, Corinne didn't press me... or rush me. We chatted. She wanted to know what I actually needed. What I actually wanted. Aha! The customer service that Optimum used to offer before Altice bought them out! Remember that old saying: "the customer is always right"? It means that how a company treats its customers makes the difference between keeping a customeAand losing one. Altice is clueless. My first call to ask about the $45 rise in my bill was taken by a "menu voice" which informed me that the price I saw was the right price, and the ONLY price that the service people would see, so... it disconnected me!! Yeah... REALLY! REALLY??? Pull that kind of stunt on a New Yorker???? Yeah..sure...like I'm going to accept that silliness!!??!! But LUCKY ME!! When I got Corinne she was just what I needed. If any of you are LUCKY ENOUGH to get Miss Corinne, well....HOORAY FOR YOU! She's not only professional, she's also sweet .... charming....HUMAN!!! Not to mention a joy to talk to!!! This is a tough one. The staff has always been helpful' but today I still walked away like I got screwed. I bought a Jawbone speaker. It was on sale $70 off. It rang up at $179 without the sale. I did pretty good at math and my total should be $109. Following me? I was charged $129. When I went back in to ask about it, the manager talked like a politician until I was so confused, I just stood there. Needless to say, I did not get my $20 back. Which really pissed me off. The people are very friendly and helpful. Verizon has the best all around coverage and pretty much has a monopoly on quality service. The wait can be pretty long if you go there during peak times but I guess it's because it's a popular company. Four stars because they need more staff/locations to serve the amount of clients they have. We did get great service and had no problem activating our new iphone 7's. read more

I have never been so disrespected in my life. Please note: I'm in luxury sales so I understand that they have an objective in mind when assisting a guest. I visited the Sam Rittenberg location on 2/6/18 (which is under new mgmt) and Cameron assisted me. During the process of explaining to him my objective, he proceeded to take advantage of the fact that i'm on a corporate account.....he did not indicate to me "that for an additional $90 you can bundle the screen, film protector and this external battery pack"... instead, after I tell him that I'm unique, I've never purchased a phone, in fact, I went from my parents plan to my job's plan in the past 15 years and that I'm just here for the eligible upgrade. During the process, I believe the vernacular he uses includes phrases like, "I'm gonna give ya" or "I'll also get ya" and oh, the best one "On that back wall, please pick out an eligible case for this bundle". (Keep in mind, I'm here for the upgrade so I believe he uses the word bundle but meant upgrade). He proceeds to place the film protector on my phone, the phone in the case, and then hands me the receipt on my way out. Upon reviewing the receipt and thinking it over that night, I find myself back at this store the next day just to return the battery pack (it also wasn't well explained to me during the upgrade process - i was under the assumption this new iPhone needed it for charging purposes). I approach another gentleman (last name Daybe) to express my intention to return this item and he is exasperated when I tell him that I do not "need an external battery pack and that I only came in for the phone upgrade". When I explain to him what transpired the previous day and that I really did not need any of the items, he says "Well since you purchased a bundle, it's only gonna be a difference of $6" and that's when he took the time to explain to me what Cameron had done the day before item by item and what the costs are associated with this bundle and the phone upgrade. Now, I will commend this fellow for taking his time to "sell" me on what it was exactly that I purchased the day before however when I explain to him "but I really don't need the protector b/c I have one in my car" and I "have a cheaper case from Amazon" he then says "Well we can return all 3 items if you have them". I did......when he realizes that I have "buyer's remorse" and mind you, it's only been 24 hrs, he proceeds to say "Next time, when you come in you need to understand what it is that you're buying because these items are really expensive and had you not had the proper receipt you would have been out of a lot of money". This solidified in me the nature of their business and new management. Also, to truly put a cherry on top of this sh*t sundae, he takes off the protector and says "You know that if you leave and you drop this phone, you have no protection, it will break". I wanted to say something but rather, it's better for me to tell those who hesitate about purchasing something from this retail storefront. They don't take the time upfront or use the proper vernacular / protocol when trying to assist a customer. Should that customer feel they have been misinformed or better yet misled, their immediate stance is it's that customer's fault and they should do better next time. Well, Mr. Daybe, there won't be a next time. In fact, my home & business is closest to your store and now, I've found a new one to assist my own agenda. I have already told everyone at my job along with all of my family (who also live & work here). I may not make a huge dent in your daily operations because I'm only 1 person but I will make sure you don't take advantage of anyone I love & respect. read more

This isn't specifically for this store per se but rather Verizon as a company. They need to shut down their web commerce/order fulfillment and stop pretending it's business as usual and heavily marketing it. During this time, customer service and device support are virtually non-existent. Dedicated hours of my personal time trying to unravel their mess. Spoke to managers Morgen and Cindy who were very limited in their ability or willingness to help. Took escalation up three chains of command to get the very least/basic service recovery. I have been a steady customer for at least 7 years if not longer. I understand delays. I understand interruption of support service. I don't understand being misled/lied to by numerous agents and ultimately disrespected. Denied all attempts to address compensation on my bill - I wasn't asking for the world, just a credit for my trouble. Ultimately, they failed me. Catastrophically. At a time I am 100% reliant on telecom for work in healthcare. I moved all three of my lines to AT&T for a cheaper monthly bill and actual timely communications on my sevice/orders. Verizon is not being/has not been honest or transparent at all. I get it - everyone is challenged right now and I'm used to Verizon-bad but this is even worse than that. read more

This review is about the Verizon mifi Internet. I switched from at&t to Verizon for my two iphones and home Internet. I showed Verizon months of bills from at&t. they assured me that Gigs for the mifi would be sufficient for out home Internet. We do not download movies. Just use Internet for regular searches. We are up to 12 gigs being used on the home mifi. The wost part is that Verizon can not tell you where it is being used except to say it is being used on the mifi. while the service on the phones is better, I would not recommend limited Internet with the mifi. read more

I would like to start by saying the sales representative, Milton, was most helpful and polite. Having waited for almost an hour with only 3-4 customers in the store I was anxiously ready to change my phone off of a family plan to a personal pre-paid account. I asked the sales rep. how that would work and the costs/benefits/cons of doing so. Milton was well informed and understood my situation and why I needed to go to the pre-paid account. After waiting for him to check-in with a co-worker I was waved over to the checkout counter. An individual (who I had no prior contact with during the course of my visit) questions me out of nowhere: "You want to pay more?". I asked him what he meant and he said "You're going to pay more" "You're using 5GB of data a month and going to a 1GB plan". I told him that I needed to get off of my family plan and yes I was choosing to go to the pre-paid option. He was already contentious, with minimal personal skills, and the body language of someone who was on the offensive. I knew he was trying to sell me their new tiered level plan as I had already discussed this with the sales rep(side note:this plan is contingent on credit score and although I have a pretty great score I did not want if affected by a check for Verizon to approve me for cell phone service). I told the intervening man that I had already made my decision and the rep. already explained everything to me. I also explained that I did not want to have my credit score affected by a cell phone plan and I did not feel that Verizon had any business dabbling in my credit. He retorted back, "How do you figure?". I was completely taken back by this guy. I have heard that gone are the days of the customer being right but this dude was not kidding. He persisted in telling me why I needed to pay for the more advanced monthly plan and that it was his job as the manager to do so. This was the first time he introduced himself as a manager and I'm happy I could make sense of what he was saying from the precipice he was located on. I informed Jay (the manager) that the monthly rates offered at Verizon might not even be as good as the competitors in the area. I realize I could have said something more polite (or less informed) about the situation but at this point I was fed up with Jay, his horrid attitude, and his omniscient understanding of what I truly needed. Jay's reply was classic: "Would you rather go somewhere else?" Talk about customer service; Jay deserves an award for demonstrating to his colleagues how-not to interact with someone. I asked Jay if he would rather me go somewhere else and his smug reply was something to the tune of, you can do whatever you want. At this point I was ready to pack up and leave but I was committed to getting my phone turned on and leaving. I purchased the $45 prepaid monthly option and headed out, thanking Milton as I departed.I have been a customer with Verizon for over 10 years and worked in sales/service industry for just as long. I have never been talked down to by a "manager" like this in my life. After the treatment I received today, I think I will be looking for a more customer-service based carrier. read more

I've been with Verizon for 4 years now. On my second iPhone (4S now 6). Yesterday I spent an hour on the phone with Verizon and they tried all their trouble shooting with two different people. Told me I needed a new Sim card. Went to retail store and spent over 2 hours replaced Sim card, did a hard reset and guess what? it still didn't work. Was told they would have to replace it and it would be sent to arrive here here today. Got my tracking info and it won't be here until Monday. That's a total of 5 days without a phone--I hope none of my clients have an emergency. This is part of my business needs and being without it for 5 days is really a hardship. I went in a couple of months ago to update my flip phone. Yes, I still had a flip phone. I upgraded to an I-phone and basically got the unlimited calling and text contract for 2 years. I was also talked into getting the insurance for an additional $10/month in case I lost my phone. I specifically asked what my bill was going to be since I did have a monthly charge of $65 and I didn't want to increase by too much. I was told it would be $100. And I asked them to include the taxes. Two months later I have received two bills totally $156. I'm a little upset that it seems a lot higher than expected. So, I called today and talked to a nice young lady, Amy, and after explaining my situation she told me that my next bill would only be $115. So, it appears you have to wait longer than a month for the bill to "settle". I also wasn't happy after I returned home and found out that the deductible for the insurance for an I-phone was $199! They neglected to tell me this in the store. So, since it will only take a few months paying $10/month and soon I will have paid for a new phone. So, it is something you have to decide to do. If you lose your phone a lot then go for it. But, I'm not interested in paying more money to Verizon then I have to. So, in the end, Amy did tell me that my overall bill was going to be lower. Yay! I will admit, that I always can connect with my cell phone and rarely have a lost call. So, in that aspect I love Verizon. But, I truly do not like it when someone doesn't tell me the whole story when I purchase something like a contract that will last for 2 years. You might as well tell that person up front what it is going to cost, because they are going to find out eventually. It is better to understand going into the contract and then you don't have an unhappy customer. So, as in the previous review, I also have a love-hate relationship with Verizon.
