Had the best experience at TMobile yesterday. I walked-in and was taken care of by Makiah Shenay. I got a new phone for Christmas and was apprehensive about transferring the phone number and my Mum's older phone number over due to past responses of different answers, hoops to jump through, PIN numbers, phone call verifications from not being the administrator for the family plan. Thanks to Makiah's professionalism, patience, and knowledge, it was an easygoing process that prevented distress. Makiah did an exceptional job addressing customers and checking them in to ensure the wait times weren't as lengthy. **I will continue to update this review as this situation goes on at the bottom of the original review** (ORIGINAL REVIEW ) For Christmas, I was upgrading my wife's phone to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. After getting the runaround from two T-Mobile locations, I finally ended up at the Ashley River Road location in West Ashley, Charleston, SC, on 12/23. A female associate confirmed I could trade in my wife's phone with no issues, but I had trouble deactivating her Stolen Device Protection because of facial recognition. She told me to come back the next day (12/24) once it was disabled in person, and everything would be fine. Today, I came back, but the associate wasn't there, and Cory helped me instead. From the jump, his attitude was smug. When I explained the situation, he barely acknowledged me. I handed him the phone, and he immediately slid it back across the table, almost sending it to the floor, saying, "I CAN'T TAKE THAT PHONE." Confused, I asked why, since the phone is paid off. He responded that the back was shattered, but I reminded him it still qualifies under T-Mobile's 4-point inspection policy. Cory told me to try another store because he wasn't taking the phone, even though it qualifies under their policy. What really got to me was how he handled the Caucasian male before me with respect and care, but treated me with clear hostility. I left to run an errand and told him I'd be back because I needed to break the bad news to my wife. When I returned, Cory still had the same attitude, this time with an even more blatant racist tone. What you're about to see is my reaction to being fed up with the racism from individuals like me. Once I defended myself he then do what all aggressors do when met with someone that's not willing to back down or cower from them and that's call the POLICE. Yes he called the cops on me. Let that sink in I defended myself from his disrespect he showed thru racism now all of a sudden he was a victim. Gaslighting at its finest. Btw I'm trespassed from this location also. I had initially planned to upgrade my own line to the iPhone 16 Pro Max after Christmas as well, but after this experience, I no longer feel respected or valued as a T-Mobile customer. Although I was able to successfully upgrade my wife's line at another location that took the trade-in with no issues, this ordeal has left a bad taste in my mouth. It's been almost a week, and no one has made an effort to right these wrongs, leaving me questioning whether I want to continue investing my hard-earned money into a company that has shown such disregard for my experience. UPDATE 12/30/2024 I'm writing this update after seeing the owner's reply to my initial review, and honestly, it just reinforces the sentiment I've had throughout this entire ordeal--that this location, and by extension T-Mobile, does not care about its customers, especially minorities. Their response was condescending and dismissive, essentially saying, "Oh, I'm sorry you expected to be treated with respect and care as a customer, but if you don't like it, just go somewhere else." This is the kind of tone you get when you've dealt with blatant racism in their store? Instead of addressing the serious concerns I raised about how I was treated, they brushed it off like it's nothing. I experienced racism--blatant racism--at the hands of an associate in this store. And now, instead of accountability or a genuine effort to make things right, I'm being told to take my business elsewhere. It's not just disappointing--it's sad. This isn't just about bad customer service; it's about the lack of respect and regard for me as a paying customer and, frankly, as a human being. T-Mobile Experience Store - The T Mobile's location owner response on 12/30 - Mobile Phones Near Me - Charleston, South Carolina

I went in to upgrade my phone. Was told by CORY to download the Tmobile app, choose my phone and go from there. I chose one with 512GB storage and told him that. Because I mentioned I specifically texted my son to ask if that amount of storage would be good. I wait the amount of time it takes to transfer everything from my old one, get home and notice the new phone is only 128GB. Not what I purchased. Call the store and Cory answered and said no, I didn't ask for the 512GB and they don't carry it in the store and it would have to be ordered online so I would need to return the new phone, transfer everything back to my old phone and wait the two days for the correct phone to be delivered then repeat the process. Absolute ridiculousness because he made a huge mistake. I drive back to the store to fix this mess and am told that I'll be charged a $75 restock fee because this one hour old phone would need to be destroyed (yeah right). Also I had paid $50 for a screen protector that was put on the new phone. Cory tries to gaslight me into thinking I was joking about wanting the 512GB phone and the manager actually questioned me why I even needed so much storage when I wasn't even using all that I had of the 128. Not his business and very unprofessional. Both employees tried to blame ME for Cory's mistake and wouldn't waive the restock fee --which is outright robbery to me because they made the mistake. I will not ever go to that store again. The employees need some serious customer service training and a lot of professionalism. This wasted HOURS of my day. Very disappointing and in reading other reviews, they should shut this one down or at least get rid of these inept workers. read more

What was supposed to take 1 hour has now turned into a 24 hour ordeal . Xavier and the other employees may be well intentioned but their lack of honest communication in addition to lack of knowledge of their products and services is the reason for the 1 star. I accompanied a friend to purchase a new phone . He selected a new phone within 5 minutes . At that point Xavier began to transfer all of his content from his original phone to the new one . He said it would be a few minutes to do that . Twenty minutes later he said he needed 30 more minutes . So my friend and I went to lunch . Two hours later we returned only for Xavier to say he needed an additional 30 minutes to complete the transfer of content . At this point my friend began to get frustrated and asked if the content transfer could continue if he just took the phone and let it finish at his home - Xavier said no it had to stay at T-Mobile to complete the transfer . So we decided to have a cocktail at a nearby restaurant. 45 minutes later I called T-Mobile and Xavier said the transfer was still not complete . 2 more hours after that my friend had had enough and returned to the store to retrieve the new phone and forgo the completion of the content transfer . Xavier was gone . The remaining employees told us that he could take the phone with him and the transfer would continue outside of the store !! At that point my friend about lost it , having spent more than 6 hours waiting for the content transfer and being told by Xavier the phone had to remain in the store to complete the transfer . Also, the attitude and tone we received was that they were doing him a "favor" by transferring the content at all . So we left with the new phone only to discover he can't send or receive texts nor use the internet . We called the store and they said to come back the next day ! Frustration is an understatement. I am a Verizon customer so I had never been in this T-Mobile store . Initially , I was wondering why the store was so empty because anytime I go to a Verizon store they are busy and bustling . After the experience with T-Mobile I now understand why no one was in the store . This experience alone makes me thankful I am not a T-Mobile user . I do not recommend this location . read more

This T-Mobile location deserves -0 Review! First of all, the only reason I stopped by this location is because it's closer to my home. The 1 Star Reviews speaks volume for this store and the staff can care less. Especially, the big dark bear-y man whom the Associates call "The Manager." I saw a few customers enter the store and the "Manager" and one of his Associates were busy watching Tik-Tok in their cell phone. One customer cordially interrupted them, and the "Manager" looked up at the customer and said, "someone will be with you" in an egregious tone. II would like to hear from the T-Mobile "District Manager" regarding my issue. They need to clean that store up and start with removing the "Managers." read more

Earlier this year(2025).. I was having issues with my home Internet so I visited the store and got in contact with sales representative Antonio "Tony" Gutierrez (register #5 at 11:14am Jan. 26, 2025) whom of which happily switched out my old gateway for a new gateway but during that transaction supposedly Tony sold me an iWatch that I never received, and I have been being charged for it for months. I've contacted customer care several times with T-Mobile, but they always tell me to go back to the store and speak with the original sales rep(Tony) that supposedly sold me the iWatch but every time I've gone back to the store all Tony says is that he cannot help me; because of all of this I have switched Cellular provider and home Internet to a different company. This has been a very disappointing experience and shame on the store, their manager, and Tony for not taking responsibility for falsely selling me an iWatch. I never received this supposed sell of an iWatch. I have reported fraudulent charges with T-Mobile customer care. Hopefully this issue can be resolved, but definitely not by the store themselves. read more

After two frustrating months of two and three hour conversations with no success at unraveling the mess created by an ESL phone rep I stepped in this store expecting no better results than before. Boy when I tell you you can't even get good customer service here at this store. The ONLY person working with no customers inside chilling on his phone until I walked in first and let the beautiful lady behind me go ahead of me, the employee wants to catch an attitude all over me asking for the wifi being that I am a veteran with PTSD and suffer with anxiety and my phone is completely out of service and I needed the wifi right away to get things together prior to being assisted rudely by the employee it blew my mind. The seconds it would've taken to give the wifi password over catching an attitude complaining about how you're busy with the customer and telling me this with a belittling look on his face was astonishing. I came here to get my service connected with T-Mobile and instead I went right back to a better carrier with better customer service. I was promptly checked in on arrival at this store but left to wait outside in 97 degree heat for over an hour. There was no line but the store is severely understaffed and they are only seeing one customer at a time. Don't come in. Just call to get the help you need. read more

This is by far the slowest T-mobile I have ever stepped inside of. In my 22 years of living I have never seen a store as slow and understaffed as this one. You will have better luck and better service taking an extra few minutes to drive to the CITADEL MALL. This is the poorest managed store I have been in. No system to sign in to ensure others don't push forward to be helped out of turn. Only 3 employees working as we entered on Black Friday afternoon. Another appeared and soon left the floor not to be seen again. Then another did the same. Down to two salespeople and about 8 customers waiting and though we did give our name to the salesman who not long after disappeared without a word to us, a customer I felt we would be after left and three of us converged one salesperson She had no idea who was next and we weren't even sure.
