We thought we figured it out but they suggested it might actually be the internet provider. When they left the issue came back (not their fault), I contacted them and let them know it came back, the owner said that because they weren't able to resolve the issue he was not going to charge me! The advice was to return the HP printer; and, exchange it for a Brother printer. I am extremely pleased that I followed the advice given by NMPCMD!! The guy asked a series of questions and stated that, while he absolutely could not be sure, the problem could simply be a busted screen. He told us to come back in an hour. We came back, boom, he was right. Was it a costly fix? Sure. Was it WAY better than buying a new one? Without question.
