My friend had questions but he said he didn't have time. I didn't think that was right especially that he kept us waiting, I understand there are other customers who need help but don't dismiss those who have a few questions. Had to go here to fix some legal paper work. You do have to go through a detector like at the airport. Then to check in you use a kiosk (see photo) and you get a number letter like "C301." But they are not printed consecutively so you need to pay attention or check the monitors for what numbers have been called. The people there are very friendly and helpful. I have been there twice now and both times the people have been very helpful because legal paperwork can be confusing. Since you have to go, not a bad option.

I did not have a toll transponder with me and there is no staffed booth where you can pay cash at the time. So I expected a bill in the mail. The bill arrived and it was paid by the same credit card I used for the rental. $1.60 for Tuesday's two tolls. Plus $4.95 service charge. $2.60 for Wednesday's two tolls. Plus $4.95 service charge. $1.60 for Thursday's two tolls. Plus $4.95 service change. $0.54 for Friday's one toll. Plus $4.95 service charge. Total of $6.34 for the tolls and $19.80 for the fees. It's a good thing this is "work" money because three parts "fee" to one part "expense" might be upsetting. Don't like it? I was directed to the kiosk to check in and get my number for staff assistance. They were 5 staffers working. I noticed that service seemed fairly quick so I was hopeful the wait would be short. If the wait was long, I would have to leave for my other appointment. Numbers are called over a PA system and a board on the wall shows what number is being helped and which window. That's helpful. There is a last call for a number if you didn't hear the original call. About 40 minutes later, my number was called. I was quickly helped and received what I wanted. Not bad at all. They refused her request stating they would take them to evidence. Three weeks later I called evidence to see when things would be released, they denied having his things at all. I called Mesa Police and was told they didn't know where his things were, nothing was brought in from the scene. Weeks later I was told they apologized but they left his stuff at the scene by mistake. In his things were every last things he owned, jewelry, clothes, medications, his Bible, his photos and a black sachel full of psych medications, suboxone, and prescribed substance, that they said they left at the scene. ​The medical examiners office took photos of all of those things including the medications, but the Mesa Police denied seeing the sachel of meds. I requested the report 3 times after they closed his case to accidental fentanyl poisoning, it was never sent to me. I made a formal complaint to Internal Affairs, they took four weeks and wrote me saying only, "their officers acted accordingly", they closed the investigation. To them my son was a waste of time, he was an addict, another body to collect, more paperwork. Why ? Because it was not one of their children. Shame on all of you that overlooked the last memories we would have had of my son, shame on you for not investigating the cameras at the store that viewd who gave him the drugs and shame on you for the devastating treatment we recieved.

This was the sentencing hearing which was ended up being pleaded outside the courtroom to a reduced sentence to avoid an animal Cruelty felony. This was my second visit for this case. My message Protect the defenseless, human or animal kingdom. Mesa Courthouse This is a fantastic building in a convenient location. Modern well designed and a huge improvement from the Maricopa County Courthouse and much better access and parking than the City of Phoenix Courthouse. Nice Job City of Mesa-SYOY!

Never in my life did I think I'd ever be on Yelp reviewing a municipal court building, but recently…read moreI was unable to escape jury duty and served on a two-day jury in Mesa, AZ. In the past, I'd always looked for an out. My uncle was killed in cold blood, I have family and friends that are/were law enforcement officers, I do not drink and am very much against drinking and driving, etc. I entered this summons with the mindset of "If I am picked, I am picked." so, of course, I was picked. It was a case that truly should have been open and shut. A man drank, then drove, was pulled over, was found to be intoxicated, and even had his blood drawn and discovered to be very intoxicated within two hours if driving a vehicle. But, in our jury pool, we had some sympathetic people who really tried to not find the man guilty on both counts, so we spent an extra day and a half deliberating. Finally, the two holdouts gave in at the end of day two and we found the driver guilty in both counts. The prosecutor wanted to know what took so long, but he asked all of us at once so the four who were guilty from the beginning really couldn't explain it too well without bashing the other two which dragged their feet. Avery strange experience and a glimpse behind the curtain of our justice system. Great building, bathrooms, security, etc.
