Ask the Community - Melrose District

Does anyone have contact information for the classic car group that was at the Melrose on 7th festival?

Please contact info@m7streetfair.com! Our classic car show consists of individual and club exhibitors. Thanks for your inquiry!

HI, my name is Alyssa. I was wondering what is the least expensive and nicest apartments in the Melrose district?

This is subjective to taste and budget! The nicest are The Curve, the cheapest may be Melrose Apartments. There is also Solaris, the Revival, and many small apartment buildings. Good luck!

Social Security - My pic Juan dominguez

However, since the pandemic much has changed and this 2025 a lot more has changed. I was very disappointed with my last visit 2weeks ago. They have a sign posted (registered appointment line up here (left side) and non registered appointments line up here (right side). I drove a senior to the office and there were no lines, she only needed an award form. The representative on the phone said go in and explain what you need. To our surprise and dismay both security officers turned us away and said go online and make an appointment. One of the main issues is many seniors are not technology savvy and need a human being to assist them. Immediately I had to call SSA, wait 15 minutes (thank goodness), to ask the representative to mail her the form needed. I will say it has enough security features / barriers inside that you can't just walk in. The Front office security definitely needs to show a little more respect and kindness and towards people in general entering the office. Yes, I know they run into people who are aggressive, upset and have bad behavior but they should not taken that attitude towards everyone else who arrives for assistance. Sadly the government is starting to make all federal agencies worse. Jesus help us

Myrel Gonzales is the best customer service person I've ever worked with at AZ Dept of Revenue…read more When you receive a demand letter, it unnerves you. It's especially unnerving when you have no idea why you owe the amount demanded. Ms. Gonzales was kind, patient, and thorough in her detailed explanation of the incorrect amount of overpayment that my CPA and I were basing the estimated quarterly taxes upon. It could have been very confusing but Ms. Gonzalez laid out three years of taxes so that I could easily understand it. I very much appreciated her help and thoroughly trust that my account will now be straightened out with an additional payment. When you get a letter from a Department of Revenue, whether it is federal or state, it is upsetting. You don't understand it or even trust that it's correct. This was not a bad experience and I understand the error was on my end. It is immediately correctable. Thank you, Ms. Gonzalez. DD

Now with that said, I know it is slow and…read moredoes not go to all the places I need to go so it is not enough to give up my car like I would, say, if I moved back to NYC. Sadly, one cannot rely on this system really to get around fully but it is great to the airport and venues downtown, especially Chase Field for a baseball game. It takes you right into Chase. ( 1-2 bucks versus 20 to 60 bucks so a good money saver) As of 1/25 it starts/end at Metro Center and ends in east mesa so you can get to Downtown Phoenix, ASU, and other points in-between. It is cheap and if you are senior even cheaper. Buck a ride for Seniors. I think 2 or 2.50 if not a senior. Airport shuttle is close to a hundred so definitely a great deal. The only down thing on the airport is our system does not have overnight parking for your car like other cities have. You will have to be able to walk or get dropped off at one of the train statins. For me, luckily I live right across the street from one Light rail station so it is nice to get me to Skyharbor. I can walk to and from. If you do not park overnight no worries there are plenty of park and ride places to catch the train. Just a tip be careful your concert or special event does not get out until late around 11pm or so and you miss the midnight last train and you get stranded. Found that out the hard way one time on my birthday. lol I was sad to see the city of Glendale stop the project because at one time it was suppose to go to State Farm Arena but no more. I work PT there and would love to take the train to work. I never understand why the 5th largest city in the USA does not have a better public transportation system. A lot of folks say the train is unsafe. Hogwash. I have never had an issue but homeless people do not bother me at all. I am not a person who is afraid of my own shadow. Sometimes on the train I have seen something new as of fall 2024 people are selling things on it. I believe that might be illegal but no one ever bothers me. That is weird and probably should not be allowed but like I said they do not bother me and i have other battles in life to worry about. Besides I am used to all that in my travels especially on the NY subways. In Mn I saw a buck or is it butt ( lol) naked guy on the train in the middle of Winter. lol and a Pick Pocket in Madrid. The adventures in travel series. I could write a book. I think the last time a woman was selling herbs or oils and perfume. Shrugs shoulders. We all gotta survive. I myself would not buy anything, especially anything edible from a stranger, but some folks were. She did not even ask me though. She just walks through announcing her wares. It did take me by surprise at first but only because that was new to me in PHX. Common in other places. I had never seen that before here locally. I am sure it might be a rare thing since security is usually tight on the train system platform, especially on big event or game days. i do not take the train often but I know people who take it daily and have zero problems with it. It is a good service if you live centralized. I wish it went to more places.

A few weeks later he groped me and whispered in my ear before stepping off the train. When I tried to tell the other security guards, one of them said "Well no one's ever said that about him before..." and the other one said "Man, you can't even flirt without getting in trouble these days." When I made a report on the app, there was never a follow up. I still had to see him several times a week, so he clearly wasn't fired or anything. Very disappointing and unsafe.

US Post Office - The place is a mess and cannot be kept clear by the dispatcher, O-O Nyunt.

US Post Office

Have avoided this PO like the plague for several months, but had an important letter to mail…read more There were some different staff there and they seemed to have their A/C turned on this time, which was good because it was 106 degrees today. One of the employees actually came out into the waiting area and queried those in line personally about whether they were merely picking up or dropping off a package that already had postage, instructing them to report to the far left window. At the far right was a newer employee who is extremely tall and muscular and friendly. As each customer left his window, he apologized for the wait, as there was a long line. But he works very fast, so the wait is not because of him. The female at the far left pickup window was a little strange. She had a big head bandana and crazy eyes. She had no one at her window and wasn't doing anything, nor was she announcing to newly arrived customers that if they only had a pickup or drop off they could come to her window -- other employees seemed to take on that "heavy mantle" FOR her. She only gave confrontational stares to customers in line, like she wanted to jump over the counter and fight with them for looking at her (probably wondering what her job was). The other employees were working a little slower, but not as slow as PAST longtime employees used to (maybe they finally retired). There used to be a middle aged lady with short spiky hair that worked so slow it was almost impossible to tell if she was moving. Just watching her made me feel like I was going into a coma. Maybe she is finally gone. SHE is the one who always SHOULD have apologized for the wait... Dare I say things are improving slightly over there. At least they had 4 active windows going. I'm curious as to what accounts for their sudden new motivation to actually do the jobs for which they are being handsomely paid... It is in a convenient location with good parking access IF you are going northbound on 7th Avenue. Otherwise you are pretty much SOL.

They'll make fun of you in the back, and wait forever to hopefully make you go away. There is no enticement for anyone to do extra work for customers, and pride is all but ignored here. Just go to another place, pull your poboxes (where mail is stolen from, I have seen it), and don't give them your service.

They wouldn't even tell me the next closest place to go. Well, as the Unemployment website doesn't work (locks up all the time), I've called numerous times saying I have a problem with my account. They take a message and no one calls me back. That's IF I can actually get ahold of a live person and the phone line doesn't hang up on me. I also emailed the advocates two times...nothing. I finally got in to update, again, my home address and it has someone else's email, phone #, and banking info! I file fraud in three separate places, NO ONE has called me back.
