They have a sign posted (registered appointment line up here (left side) and non registered appointments line up here (right side). I drove a senior to the office and there were no lines, she only needed an award form. The representative on the phone said go in and explain what you need. To our surprise and dismay both security officers turned us away and said go online and make an appointment. One of the main issues is many seniors are not technology savvy and need a human being to assist them. Immediately I had to call SSA, wait 15 minutes (thank goodness), to ask the representative to mail her the form needed. I will say it has enough security features / barriers inside that you can't just walk in. The Front office security definitely needs to show a little more respect and kindness and towards people in general entering the office. Yes, I know they run into people who are aggressive, upset and have bad behavior but they should not taken that attitude towards everyone else who arrives for assistance. It's especially unnerving when you have no idea why you owe the amount demanded. Ms. Gonzales was kind, patient, and thorough in her detailed explanation of the incorrect amount of overpayment that my CPA and I were basing the estimated quarterly taxes upon. It could have been very confusing but Ms. Gonzalez laid out three years of taxes so that I could easily understand it. I very much appreciated her help and thoroughly trust that my account will now be straightened out with an additional payment. When you get a letter from a Department of Revenue, whether it is federal or state, it is upsetting. You don't understand it or even trust that it's correct. This is the worst post office in the country. The staff clearly hate their jobs (when you're…read moreactually able to interact with them), the counter closes earlier than any other post office I know of in phoenix (4:30 on weekdays, but last pickup is 5:00??), and the self-service options are always broken or out of service! I've actually had an attendant come out the door and YELL at me for freeing up the jammed drop box. Oh, I'm sorry -- that was YOUR job and you weren't doing it! I've seen staff empty out the same bin into a collection cart while tossing in boxes and muttering insane SON OF SAM things like "stupid people. What's wrong with people? Ugh!" Things *I* say, but mostly about the STAFF AT THIS POST OFFICE! Today I drove all the way over to ship packages with pre-paid postage knowing the staff wouldn't be present but the self-service box would likely be jammed... didn't even get that far! The ship station was out of printer paper and couldn't print ANY labels. I've seen them without receipt paper before, but this time it was the shipping labels and stamps! Wtf. They literally want to do the least, and they won't even let automation step in by letting customers do their job. I've had no less than 4 cases opened with USPS HQ where they've had to investigate the dumbest problems, and only THEN were they resolved. A missing green card, mail holds that never ended, other lost packages that show up after an agent had to research. Never drive to this post office if you need to ship something with a deadline.

I just got the letter that my son was not approved with the exact same information that got me approved. we have a household of 3. when they submitted my application its stated a household of 3 and it was aproved as such. when they did my son they stated we did not qualify for a household of three but as a household of 2. I want to know why the exact same information got me approved as a household of three but my son denied because they state we are a household of 2. how is the government getting away with aproving the parents or only some children in a family and then the rest?
