One of the main issues is many seniors are not technology savvy and need a human being to assist them. Immediately I had to call SSA, wait 15 minutes (thank goodness), to ask the representative to mail her the form needed. I will say it has enough security features / barriers inside that you can't just walk in. The Front office security definitely needs to show a little more respect and kindness and towards people in general entering the office. "We have to ask you to register to vote every time you come in, even if you are already registered." Good grief. How many work hours are wasted each year on this? And then the kicker: they mailed me a packet for registering to vote! A four-page packet with a staple and of course the envelope it came in (including a return address sticker and a mailing address sticker) that cost them 45 cents to mail! Not only environmentally irresponsible but also fiscally irresponsible. What a waste of resources. If the people who put together and mailed this packet would get on the telephones and start taking calls, we wouldn't have to wait so long for someone to pick up. I would give one star, but I've talked to several employees and only one sent me off on a wild goose chase to another department because she was either too ignorant or too lazy to help me. Most workers seem to be aware that they are apparently supposed to ask you to take a one-minute survey at the end of your call, and in the survey you are given a chance to rate the employee's professionalism and I think their knowledge. He said no, but if I hurried, it might be free. I had high hopes. I was back to the ticket exit area within 10 minutes but my paper card was rejected! I tried 4 different machines and had to back my car up each time. Super annoying and I still paid $6 for being there a total of 15 minutes when I finally had to find a ticket agent to help me and she declared my ticket was defunct.
