Do NOT call the main number. Call the LOCAL office to schedule your appointment. - The image shows a smartphone screen with a contact labeled 'UNKNOWN' and a phone number (800) 772-1213. The screen indicates an outgoing call made today at 2:52 PM, lasting 3 hours and 55 minutes. The interface includes options to message, call, video call, or mail the contact, along with options to share, create, or add contacts, and block the caller. The phone's status bar shows the time as 6:48, with Wi-Fi, cellular signal, and battery icons visible.

As of January 2025 you have to have an appointment. They will turn you away if you do not. Pro Tip: Visit www.ssa.gov FIRST to see if you need to go in. DON'T FORGET to write down your application number if you have to call in to make an appointment. Call the LOCAL office instead of the main SS number. I was on hold with the main number for almost 4 hours to schedule my appointment. The SS worker that helped me said calling the local office is quicker. Once you get your appointment, on the day of you will get an email to check in. It's super easy they will help you get your ticket once you get inside. My appointment was at 9AM today. I was back in my vehicle by 9:15.

A smartphone screen shows an active call with the number (800) 772-1213, with a call duration of 1 hour, 3 minutes, and 39 seconds. The screen includes call control buttons such as speaker, face time, mute, add, keypad, and end. The phone is placed on a dark surface, and the display indicates the time as 15:03.

We expect the government of the greatest nation on earth to be grandiose and efficient. I mean, we…read moredidn't get this far by accident. But instead we get disorder and chaos. We were told to be there no later than 9:00 am for an oath ceremony that started at 9:30. Well 9:30 came and went and it wasn't until after 1:00 pm that the ceremony started. To add insult to injury, we were charged $14 for parking. Yes they charge parking per hour. This was $14 for our car pus $14 that my brother payed for his car. So not only did we have to wait hours for the ceremony, we were also being charged for parking while we waited. To sum it up: we waited hours, we where charged per hour we waited, and on top of that, we just handed our son over to you Uncle Sam. Nicely played Uncle Sam, nicely played

Very modern, and, the space feels welcoming even if many of the employees are not ("staff is…read morerude"), and, even if one is forced through a metal detector before entering. The different installations on the walls are pretty cool. This is a brand new MEPS so it is still nice looking. But, it is still a MEPS. Do not be confused. This is not fun-and-games. It is not playtime. Spoiler: this will not be pleasant. And the food is horrendously bad. Like "what the fuck, is anyone even trying here?" bad. The shit that Jared pushes for that shitty, stupid chain offers better sandwiches than this crap. But, this is MEPS -- so, quit your whining. I said quit your whining! In government workplaces, there are always those employees that you wonder if they are outright trying to get fired. Now, at your local, unfriendly MEPS, this is magnified x5000 for certain staff members. They will drive you all the way to the edge of patience, tolerance, and acceptance of abuse, and then reel you back in to ensure you still enlist and actually give up some time to Uncle Sam. It is like a game -- and, quite impressive is the way they play it. They are artists painting a vacuously visceral narrative on the canvas which just so happens to be your poor feelings. Now, do not get me wrong, there are still cool, likeable staff here. Unfortunately, they live and operate side-by-side some of the most comically abrasive personalities in the city ... nay, state. Together, the nice MEPS staff members and the big meanie-heads, will get your ass into whatever service branch you are joining. Oh, you are getting in (unless you get medically disqualified), but you may cry before you find your way to the oath room*. And they will not be tears of joy. Just go to the restroom to cry in private, please. They do not validate parking. Haha. - E * Footnote: The dedication of AZ's oath room to Lori Piestewa is particularly touching. She was an outstanding warrior who often is overlooked.

It's especially unnerving when you have no idea why you owe the amount demanded. Ms. Gonzales was kind, patient, and thorough in her detailed explanation of the incorrect amount of overpayment that my CPA and I were basing the estimated quarterly taxes upon. It could have been very confusing but Ms. Gonzalez laid out three years of taxes so that I could easily understand it. I very much appreciated her help and thoroughly trust that my account will now be straightened out with an additional payment. When you get a letter from a Department of Revenue, whether it is federal or state, it is upsetting. You don't understand it or even trust that it's correct. This was not a bad experience and I understand the error was on my end. It is immediately correctable. Thank you, Ms. Gonzalez. DD

Only in protecting the nurses even when they are egregiously wrong and dangerous. I was abused by a nurse, actually 3 nurses) in small town hospital in northern az. When I awoke from the anesthesia the attending "charge" nurse was very stern and angry, directing me to move myself with no help, from my recovery bed to a telemetry bed. Long story short (later I learned this) it had been about 4-5 hours after my surgery. I must have been "combative" or arguing during the preceding hours while I was recovering. I have no awareness of this. "J" was so angry and forced me (70+yrs old and a heavy woman) to use what little strength I had to try to slide myself to another bed with no help. I had just had pacemaker surgery and was told NOT to move or stress my left arm. I couldn't move without using that arm and was crying and begging. Saying "I can't." I was pleading and crying. I couldn't understand why she wouldn't help and even threatened me with calling "security" -whatever that meant. I wasn't threatening anyone. In my addled anesthesia drugged brain I feared someone coming in and dragging me off to jail. So I pushed off with my left arm but still couldn't move. The result was major damage to my surgery. (One pacemaker lead shifted and started "burning a hole in my heart wall" ) There were 3 nurses in the room. No one would help me. Later when questioned They all stated I was "yelling? Or cursing? Well, I'm sorry if I was but I have no knowledge of that. I only remember being told to change beds, begging and crying. If any one of them had half a brain they would recognize that up to that time I was still under the affects of anesthesia and unaware and not responsible for my actions. This sometimes happens as a bad reaction to anesthesia. ( My husband was "combative" after surgery and he normally is NEVER is argumentative. )The damage has required THREE additional surgeries to repair. Hospital took no responsibility for this. The final two surgeries (In Scottsdale) required specialist nurses present to protect me from my the PTSD as a result of the abuse. Funny thing is-the board of nursing employee who handled my complaint is the one who recognized the possibility of my being under the affect of anesthesia. She told me patients can be combative and not aware. She Pretended to be very supportive. She pretended to write up a review for the hearing that would explain my case. That I was not responsible for my actions ans should have been treated with respect. She was so nice (ha!) deceived me into not attending the hearing in person. She said "you might wait for HOURS to be heard and need to come back the next day". So I zoomed at her recommendation. On zoom They offered me about 1 min or so to state my case (what could I say in one minute?). They instantly dismissed the case and unzoomed me. No appeal allowed. And it was a deceitful/ biased employee at the board of nursing who lead me down the rosy path to get the case dismissed. The charge Nurse had no discipline. What a joke. 3 dumb nurses once again turned loose on unsuspecting patients. Welcome to northern az medical care and the AZ Board of Nursing. My case was sent (by the hospital as required by law) as possible elder abuse to the Prescott prosecutor who called me then mocked me because I "deserved" the treatment I got because he said all 3 nurses said I was cursing. I was horrified. I don't curse in my day to day life. Ever! My actions were an anomaly. Drug induced. Really ignorant poorly educated (or scared/intimidated?) nurses. I have no idea. I was sedated/drugged/medicated. I behaved badly while under the influence of the drugs the doctor gave me. I had no control. (I ultimately did have great care by several Scottsdale doctors and hospitals. But this is about the board of nursing. The ultimate protectors. HA! Fakes. Baloney
