However, since the pandemic much has changed and this 2025 a lot more has changed. I was very disappointed with my last visit 2weeks ago. They have a sign posted (registered appointment line up here (left side) and non registered appointments line up here (right side). I drove a senior to the office and there were no lines, she only needed an award form. The representative on the phone said go in and explain what you need. To our surprise and dismay both security officers turned us away and said go online and make an appointment. One of the main issues is many seniors are not technology savvy and need a human being to assist them. Immediately I had to call SSA, wait 15 minutes (thank goodness), to ask the representative to mail her the form needed. I will say it has enough security features / barriers inside that you can't just walk in. The Front office security definitely needs to show a little more respect and kindness and towards people in general entering the office. Yes, I know they run into people who are aggressive, upset and have bad behavior but they should not taken that attitude towards everyone else who arrives for assistance. Sadly the government is starting to make all federal agencies worse. Jesus help us

We called 911 and a fleet of cops came knocking on our door in less than two minutes. They were quick to react, immediately advised me to get on my Cerberus tracking app, and stayed with me until the thieves were apprehended. They kept asking me if I was ok and when my adrenaline went down an hour later, they even apologized for the brute and cold way they first spoke to me. (I was like, DUDE you guys are doing your job, I'm not offended that you didn't coddle me, LOL. Apologizing was not necessary at all.) Detective Michelle Reyes was so sweet, extremely professional, and gladly answered all my questions about the case afterward. The police technicians did take a really long time to finish fingerprinting my phone and miscellaneous items (they said it'd take 2-3 days... it ended up taking 17 days lol) but hey, I'm just glad they recovered all my stolen items in the first place. I'm honestly so grateful. Despite the terrifying ordeal, I feel safe knowing that the Tempe Police Department is vigilantly watching over my community.

He is extremely aggressive and pushes back on citizens when they ask him to do his job. Numerous reported issues with no action by the police department. Dispatchers are often rude and dismissive, and responding officers mirror those same behaviors. The Household Products Collection…read moreCenter was created for Tempe and Guadalupe residents to be able to drop off any hazardous materials that would be dangerous to throw away and to save any items that can be recycled. Some common items you can bring in to the center are: Light bulbs Aerosol cans Motor oil Fryer oil Paint Computers and computer monitors For a complete list, go here: http://www.tempe.gov/city-hall/public-works/household-products-collection-center-hpcc/don-t-trash-it 4 days out of the year the center has a Zero Waste Day. We actually didn't even realize we had come on this season's Zero Waste Day and were pleasantly surprised by the ease of being able to drop off our items. Everything was very well organized, with different stations for each type of item you are wanting to drop off. You don't even have to get out of your car! The staff here will take everything from your car for you. The city works with several vendors (E.g., document shredding companies, Goodwill, Tempe Community Action Agency) in order to make these days a success. Zero Waste Day allows residents to drop off additional items the center wouldn't normally take. This includes: Styrofoam Food donations Clothing Paper for shredding Bicycles and bicycle parts For a more complete list, go here: http://www.tempe.gov/city-hall/public-works/recycling-and-solid-waste/recycling/zero-waste-days From the Household Products website, "As of January 2018 over 98,109 residents have dropped off items to be recycled or reused at the HPCC. Since 2005 there has been over a 205% increase in participation including over 453,366 pounds of waste collected just last year with a 94% recycling rate! Total weight diverted from the landfill and storm drains is over 4,519,637 pounds of material." Very cool! Let's keep our planet as healthy as possible by recycling and reusing what we can! Details: -Open Fridays (7-12) and Saturdays (7-1) -Right next to the Tempe Fire Training Center -4 Zero Waste Days offered a year (Jan, April, November from the website) **You will need to bring proof of residency to be able to drop off items** (Driver's license or utility bill)
