There's a little gas station that's closer to me, but the USPS drop off inside didn't have the small priority boxes. This is a pretty large post office. There are tons of P.O. boxes. They did have self-service machine where you can handle most transactions yourself, but I was disappointed that the send package option was not currently working. That's pretty much the only reason I dropped a star. Rich seemed to be the only employee working the counter at the time, but he was quick and got us out in no time. There were 5 of us in line. When it was my turn, he asked the usual questions about the box I was mailing (any liquids perishables, etc.) and then asked if I wanted to purchase a book of stamps. I politely declined but was curious to know how much a single stamp is nowadays (I haven't sent snail mail in a loooooong time)!! He said the current rate is $.78 per stamp and that there's talk about the price hiking up to ninety-something cents in the future. Yikes!!! I remember when they were a quarter each!! My, how times have changed... Anyway, I'd definitely return to this Scottsdale location. There's a good size parking lot outside although I can imagine it getting packed during the holidays. 4 solid stars!

This tracks as it's unfortunately a conservative area. I did spot quite a few families too, (at the locals parks or in Old Town) but it's debatable whether some were locals or not. I got weird vibes from some people in Scottsdale, I'm not sure if it's because there's a problem with prejudice in some areas of the city or if people have a bad case of stank face. I wouldn't live here as it's a much slower vibe than the rest of the valley. However, I loved the well-kept public spaces and roads. I'd highly recommend visiting the local train park, McCormick-Stillman, filled with real trains, playgrounds, and mini-museums. Old Town Scottsdale was decent, it had good shops.

The city is aware of this issue and that the owner of the structure took the previous owners to court with documents from the city of Scottsdale stating that the structure was not to code and was an unsafe structure. She was awarded a large sum to have the building taken down and rebuilt to code and refuses to, now claiming it is a safe structure. THE CITY REFUSES TO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. That being said I guess build what you want no permits needed in Scottsdale
