This a really cute place in Downtown Covington. There is parking to the left of the restaurant and in front. The most important part is happy hour! I believe it's from 3-6. They have half off pizzas! Their pizzas are usually around $14, so this is a great deal and a great time to try a couple! They have some interesting flavors, not traditional. I would like to see them expand or change this up because there aren't too many that seem very appealing to me. During happy hour they also have $5 glasses of their house wine. It's a pretty small menu, so it makes choosing a little easier. They have snacks for $6 and then small plates for $12. We got the cornbread focaccia bread. Definitely something I have never had before and I really enjoyed it. It came with jalapeño butter and honey butter on the side. I also got the house red wine, not dry at all. My friend and I split two pizzas: the Meridionale (collard greens, smoked pork, and onion), and All the Meats (smoked pork, ham and pepperoni). I enjoyed the Meridionale; it was a flavor combo I had never had before. The meat pizza was pretty spicy from the Calabrian chili. I think the coolest part in this experience is that the pizza oven is in front instead of back in the kitchen so you can watch your pizza being baked while you wait. We got the icebox peanut butter pie for dessert, but I wasn't that impressed and decided not to eat it after the first bite. This was the only part of the meal that didn't taste fresh. Since we went during a slow period, a lot of the staff were just milling around by the bar and pizza oven. The owner was trying to take a picture of some food for his Instagram, that was pretty funny to watch. Overall, I will come back again to try different menu items. read more

Perfect place for a date night! Has a modern/Tuscan feel and often has live music outside! Water bottles on your table, open fire oven and string lights outside. The owner came to our table and said hi which I love! He was very hands on and it showed in the quality of the food and good service we received Favorite dish: Brussels Sprouts ...I don't even like Brussels Sprouts but I couldn't get enough of these! After several months of renovating the inside dining room, my husband and I dined there. They did NOTHING to solve the loudness of the inside dining. It seemed worse than before. The outside dining was not available (where we usually sit - before and during the renovations. We both could not wait to get out of there. Our ears are still ringing from the loudness of the dining area. The service and food were awesome. The noise level was terrible. Not one noise buffer was included in the renovations. That was one of the major problems BEFORE the renovations. Too bad they didn't address the noise issues in the renovations. We won't eat there again, until we can eat outside. read more

Meribo is one of the best for a fresh pizza. You can't go wrong with any but the Soppresato and the Margherita are the best. They use the freshest ingredients and you can tell when you eat it. I came here with a group of friends for a birthday dinner and I was HIGHLY disappointed. The entire indoor portion of the restaurant (including the kitchen) was closed for renovations. Only seating available was outside and it's end of May... Luckily our reservation was for 7 so it wasn't terribly hot but I still was not expecting to sweat at dinner. All of this could have been avoided if the hostess told me prior to our reservation that this was the case. I mean the "kitchen" was a food truck parked out front of the restaurant... not to mention my $13 pasta was served in a paper bowl, with plastic utensils, and a torn paper towel as a napkin. Meribo- please warn your customers of the restaurants situation before seating them or making any reservations. I find it absolutely ridiculous that my friend was not warned of the situation of the restaurant and had to eat her meal on a paper plate. Because of my experience, I will not be back even when renovations are finished. read more

The toppings were incredible on top of the wood-fired crust! I think any pizza would be fantastic here. Dessert: Tiramisu Parfait: the consistency of the dessert was perfect after the filling meal. It's tiramisu. It's delicious. Cinnamon ball beignet thingys: sorry I don't remember the name but these little guys we took home and errmerrgerrd they're SO GOOD. Was not good! The pizza and our Italian queso were so greasy and drowned in cheese. Couldn't even eat them. And then the waitress told us that they couldn't comp anything because we ate half of it. Excellent meal at Meribo. It was a Thursday night and the place was hopping. We sat on the covered patio. Our server, Madison, was adorable-- playful and friendly but very professional. Service was prompt and the food was off-the-chain. Portions seemed small until we started eating. Each mouthful was so flavorful that we (6 of us) all left happy and satisfied and raving about our meal. I'm gluten-free and ordered three GF appetizers. My true pick would be one star. Though truthfully, it really seems like they have a vision and are trying to make it what they envision and you can see attention to detail. As bad reviews are normally something I will skim through to see what made the reviewer leave such a review. Enviroment - trying for a modern feel, which equals hard, cold metal chairs and too bright of lighting. No color, all white walls, and a slight echo (cute fake succulents at the tables, I will give them that. personally hate the feel of it. The bar has little coat hooks for ladies purses, nice touch) Food - food at a price that does not reflect the crinkled paper menues, $13 for a 1/3 cup of tomato sauce, some cheese and two pieces of bread, for example. Southern/italian fusion food (mediocre food, small portions, too exspensive for what you get) - you're paying for the enviroment and the presentation of the food, not the actual food (except the cookies, those are actually really good and house made according to the waiter) - Calamari, (my order) very lightly breaded. not, comes with fried lemon slices. (interesting, not my thing, but another in the party loved them) - a seafood pasta, which the name escapes me. they said it was pretty good, but not for the price. - salmon, too small of proportion which left her still hungry.
