Amazing happy hour. Has great drink specials and $8 pizzas. Turtle cannoli is one of the best deserts I've ever had.

The salads I ordered were not at all what was listed on the menu. All it was, was a box of soggy bread and hard cheese with a little bit of tomatoes and mint. After spending $80 on food for pick up I called to ask if I could be refunded for only the salads I ordered. I was spoken to very aggressively over the phone when I was simply trying to work out a solution to this mistake. Definitely not worth the money or the terrible service! Pizza is mediocre at best. *** Also not surprised about your comment seeing as how you feel the need to dispute every negative comment in the same defensive manner. I was extremely patient and understanding on the phone however I will not be spoken to in such a condescending way for a couple bucks. Thanks for showing how management is run in this business! Calamari was very lightly fried and delicious, and I actually liked the fried lemon slices that were in it. Interesting take. The wood-fired mozzarella cheese appetizer wasn't quite what I was expecting, and it was fairy difficult to eat. It was served with bread but wasn't really "dippable" so I wouldn't recommend this one. The consistency of the cheese made it chewy and not enjoyable. The brussels sprouts were enjoyed by my party. As for the pizzas, we enjoyed the Meridionale and Brussels Sprout. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but good enough. We had a big group and I appreciated the waitress taking time to separate checks and make it work for all of us. I know it was probably confusing, but she was very accommodating. read more

This a really cute place in Downtown Covington. There is parking to the left of the restaurant and in front. The most important part is happy hour! I believe it's from 3-6. They have half off pizzas! Their pizzas are usually around $14, so this is a great deal and a great time to try a couple! They have some interesting flavors, not traditional. I would like to see them expand or change this up because there aren't too many that seem very appealing to me. During happy hour they also have $5 glasses of their house wine. It's a pretty small menu, so it makes choosing a little easier. They have snacks for $6 and then small plates for $12. We got the cornbread focaccia bread. Definitely something I have never had before and I really enjoyed it. It came with jalapeño butter and honey butter on the side. I also got the house red wine, not dry at all. My friend and I split two pizzas: the Meridionale (collard greens, smoked pork, and onion), and All the Meats (smoked pork, ham and pepperoni). I enjoyed the Meridionale; it was a flavor combo I had never had before. The meat pizza was pretty spicy from the Calabrian chili. I think the coolest part in this experience is that the pizza oven is in front instead of back in the kitchen so you can watch your pizza being baked while you wait. We got the icebox peanut butter pie for dessert, but I wasn't that impressed and decided not to eat it after the first bite. This was the only part of the meal that didn't taste fresh. Since we went during a slow period, a lot of the staff were just milling around by the bar and pizza oven. The owner was trying to take a picture of some food for his Instagram, that was pretty funny to watch. Overall, I will come back again to try different menu items. read more

We had a group of 17 out on the patio and Christina, our waitress, was amazing! She was a great sport, patient with us and had a great sense of humor. Extremely loud. We were yelling across the table all night and still couldn't hear each other half the time. Like being in a bar. Perfect place for a date night! Has a modern/Tuscan feel and often has live music outside! Water bottles on your table, open fire oven and string lights outside. The owner came to our table and said hi which I love! He was very hands on and it showed in the quality of the food and good service we received Favorite dish: Brussels Sprouts ...I don't even like Brussels Sprouts but I couldn't get enough of these! Also had the NOCCA pizza! It was delicious! The flavors were different but perfect! The pizza is definitely a "gourmet" pizza that I will have again! Great happy hour! Dinner for four. We've all had grilled brussel sprouts on numerous occasions at various outstanding restaurants. No doubt, Merino' is the best. And the whipped ricotta skillet bread was an equal. It was Happy Hour, all pizzas $9. I chose the Margherita pizza and it was divine. It was simple but all the flavors were apparent. From the fresh dough to the subtle sauce, from the fresh mozzarella to the basil leaves and last but not least, the drizzle of olive oil and sprinkle of salt. Delicious. read more

After several months of renovating the inside dining room, my husband and I dined there. They did NOTHING to solve the loudness of the inside dining. It seemed worse than before. The outside dining was not available (where we usually sit - before and during the renovations. We both could not wait to get out of there. Our ears are still ringing from the loudness of the dining area. The service and food were awesome. The noise level was terrible. Not one noise buffer was included in the renovations. That was one of the major problems BEFORE the renovations. Too bad they didn't address the noise issues in the renovations. We won't eat there again, until we can eat outside. read more

Drinks: Their specialty cocktails are fantastic! I had a whiskey smash... Then I had another ;-) my fiancé had a local beer on tap. Appetizer: Wagyu Beef - Perfect! It's exactly the size and flavor you should expect for an appetizer! It awakens your tastebuds and set a high standard for the entree! Entrees: Duck Confit - shut up and take my money I damn near licked the plate! I order duck A LOT... no seriously, if it's on the menu I'm going to pick it. This is hands down the BEST duck dish I've ever had! The flavors complimented each other extraordinarily! Do yourself a favor and order this gem! Meridionale Pizza- SO GOOD. The toppings were incredible on top of the wood-fired crust! I think any pizza would be fantastic here. Dessert: Tiramisu Parfait: the consistency of the dessert was perfect after the filling meal. It's tiramisu. It's delicious. Cinnamon ball beignet thingys: sorry I don't remember the name but these little guys we took home and errmerrgerrd they're SO GOOD. They have this amazing marmalade to dip them in too. Decadent! ATMOSPHERE: So clean and modern! Good for just about any type of dining situation. Kids love the watching the pizza being made in the dining room facing oven. Their patio is also fantastic! All in all AWESOME food, AWESOME service, and AWESOME experience! Was not good! The pizza and our Italian queso were so greasy and drowned in cheese. Couldn't even eat them. And then the waitress told us that they couldn't comp anything because we ate half of it. (Which was one slice each) it only took one slice to realize it was terrible. They just blew off our complaint. I came here with a group of friends for a birthday dinner and I was HIGHLY disappointed. The entire indoor portion of the restaurant (including the kitchen) was closed for renovations. Only seating available was outside and it's end of May... Luckily our reservation was for 7 so it wasn't terribly hot but I still was not expecting to sweat at dinner. All of this could have been avoided if the hostess told me prior to our reservation that this was the case. I mean the "kitchen" was a food truck parked out front of the restaurant... not to mention my $13 pasta was served in a paper bowl, with plastic utensils, and a torn paper towel as a napkin. Meribo- please warn your customers of the restaurants situation before seating them or making any reservations. I find it absolutely ridiculous that my friend was not warned of the situation of the restaurant and had to eat her meal on a paper plate. Because of my experience, I will not be back even when renovations are finished. read more

Meribo is one of the best for a fresh pizza. You can't go wrong with any but the Soppresato and the Margherita are the best. They use the freshest ingredients and you can tell when you eat it. The service is incredible always willing to give a great recommendation. The wood fire artichoke is also another amazing dish. I've gotten it as my meal and as an appetizer and it's plenty to share! Coming from D.C. To visit some friends in Covington was a reminder that not everywhere in the US has a thriving restaurant and bar scene 7 days a week.... I seriously left our daytime activity to venture into town for some noms- and wondered if it was the apocalypse ..?!?? Where was everyone ?? How could EVERY establishment be closed ... does everybody seriously just cook at home on Sunday's ... Enter Meribo, the chef and owner from ATL that's transplanted there and gets it! Plus- THERES HAPPY HOUR ON SUNDAY!! Obvs you have to eat in, but why wouldn't you?? The gorgeous space, inviting design, delish half price cocktails and half price Neapolitan pizzas would lure anyone ... The menu reminded me of Emeril' s restaurant Nola in the FRENCH Quarter. The location and ambiance of the establishment is perfect for a happy hour with basic small plates and pizza. Excellent meal at Meribo. It was a Thursday night and the place was hopping. We sat on the covered patio. Our server, Madison, was adorable-- playful and friendly but very professional. Service was prompt and the food was off-the-chain. Portions seemed small until we started eating. Each mouthful was so flavorful that we (6 of us) all left happy and satisfied and raving about our meal. I'm gluten-free and ordered three GF appetizers.
