I had a truly excellent meal at Meribo. They were very concerned with health and safety- the tables were spaced and masks were being worn. On Wednesdays the pizzas and drinks are 1/2 off. My husband got a bee's mule drink, which was really good! We split the shroom pizza, meridionale pizza, and the rigatoni pasta, everything was incredible. I don't have any negatives at all. The pizzas were hot, fresh, and flavorful. The pasta, while it looked plain, had a beautiful and rice sauce and a nice bite. I will absolutely be back! read more

What a racket this guy has going, just on water alone! You sit down, they ask you what you want to drink, you say iced water, assuming you will get tap, which is what you get literally every other place you go. And if , at other places, you have an option, they would tell you they offer bottled for a fee. Not here. You ask for iced water and they bring you a bottle of water and don't tell you there will be a $3.00 charge till the bill comes. Not cool. It holds up...it holds up so hard. Meribo was incredible the first time I tried it....so we went back for a friend's birthday on a Wed. when they have all day happy hour! (honestly it's going to be hard to not go EVERY Wed. from now on). We ordered the whipped ricotta to start, with the potato pizza (they did an amazing job of posting a pic of the potato pizza that same day so I had to try it) and the vinnie pie. The whipped ricotta will be my go to app now. It was garlicy, herby, and OH SO GOOD. My only complaint is that there was a ton of skillet bread without enough ricotta dip (MORE DIP PLZ)! The vinnie pie REALLY highlights how delicious their meatballs are! They're perfect, and one day I will get a whole meatball to eat all by itself, darnit! Meribo is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Covington. I will say that the remodel of the restaurant has created an interior volume that is a bit rough. You really can't hear the members of your party speak during dinner service. We yelled something not appropriate in the restaurant just to prove you can. LOL. That said, the food is second to NONE. The specialists (ie: happy hour) is unrivaled by any business I've ever visited. And who created the Octopus?? Hats off to the Chef! Absolutely amazing!!! read more

Ventured into downtown Covington for a brunch/lunch with my Foodie Krewe and discovered this little gem that - for me - was hidden - but clearly not hidden at all for a lot of people. Following the helpful comments by previous reviewers we tried several of their signature cocktails - which were all well-made - and my favorite discovery was the "Grammy" - a surprisingly simple combination of Disaronno & Orange Juice. Delightful. For an app we shared the crispy Brussels which could have been a meal all by themselves and then shared three of their pizzas - a Brunch pizza with breakfast like things on it, and then two others that were my favs. The Margarita pizza was simple yet well balanced and very tasty in an understated sort of way. I was surprised by the flavors honestly. The "Shroom" was heartier, cheesier, and more bold in its flavor profile and equally delicious. Kate was our server who was always there and never hovering. Went here last week with a friend of mine who was in town from California and let's just say, we are both major foodies.   We ordered the Whipped Ricotta, Brussels and The Rocket Pizza.  Of course, we had cocktails too.  Everything we ordered was delicious!  Nice presentation and price.  The cocktails were spot on as well.  What we really enjoyed doing was adding an extra $10 to our bill to buy drinks for the kitchen staff.  Yes, you can do this.....it's on the back of the menu.   As for location and seating, plenty of outdoor seating; we were seated immediately.  Indoors is open seating, loud as all heck - obviously a busy place.  We are both not fans of this, so outside was the only option in our opinion and with the weather nice as it was, it was perfect. Tonight, I placed an order online which was super convenient - paid for it, 15% gratuity added and a friend of mine is off to get it.  Will update my review once he returns with the 4 pizzas we ordered, same appetizers and Meribo's homemade cookies. TIP: Don't ever call that restaurant to talk to anyone on a Friday or Saturday night. A) They can't hear you....and B) you can barely hear them. Just place your order online their website. read more

This review is solely on the pizza itself as we had placed an order this week whilst it was closed down for renovations. I had been hyped up pretty well and I can definitely see why! Thanks to everyone on Yelp who posted about The Meats pizza because I freaking loved it. That spice was such a nice kick that it truly elevated the flavorings on the pie. (Not quite sure if it's a secret menu item or something as I didn't see it on their website.) You're going to absolutely love Meribo's pizza if you enjoy a proper Italian style pie which has a thinner crust and is wood fired. The freshly pulled mozzarella was a great touch but I have learned from my trips to Italy that you judge an Italian pizza spot on their Margherita Pizza. (If they have to mask up their base with a bunch of toppings it's not to say it won't be good but it's not going to be great.) The Margherita at Meribo, and this was take out so not accounting the time to drive back to eat it, was so freaking delicious. I loved the ratio of cheese to sauce and the crust is seriously what won me over. There was a certain ingredient that kept coming up while I was eating but I was too hungry to figure it out. All in all, I know I'll be back to dine in the next time I'm in town. I've been stalking their menu on here like paparazzi and I already know a few dishes I want to try. read more

The pizza was fine but not all that great. I love mushrooms but wasn't all that thrilled by my shrooms pizza. The cocktails were very good. I loved my fig & rose. We got there around 5:45 pm on Friday and it was deafeningly loud. It seemed to be popular but you couldn't hear the person sitting directly across from you without yelling. I definitely wouldn't recommend sitting inside for a date night. Children were running around like it was a bit challenging of a social interaction and I wouldn't go out of my way to pick up from here. Outside seating would be nice if the temp wasn't too bad. The salads I ordered were not at all what was listed on the menu. All it was, was a box of soggy bread and hard cheese with a little bit of tomatoes and mint. After spending $80 on food for pick up I called to ask if I could be refunded for only the salads I ordered. Calamari was very lightly fried and delicious, and I actually liked the fried lemon slices that were in it. Interesting take. The wood-fired mozzarella cheese appetizer wasn't quite what I was expecting, and it was fairy difficult to eat. It was served with bread but wasn't really "dippable" so I wouldn't recommend this one. The consistency of the cheese made it chewy and not enjoyable. The brussels sprouts were enjoyed by my party. As for the pizzas, we enjoyed the Meridionale and Brussels Sprout. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but good enough.
