They sell at the Farmers Markets or you can order online for delivery. I've never tried delivery but this winter I believe I'll give them a try. They came into New York City as a pop up stand downtown. I love bakeries. I buy $55 worth of baked goods because they are too enticing to get just one item. Bakery items are my one of my many weaknesses in life. They are splendid. Everything tastes perfectly delicious and fresh. The pies, the cookies, the muffins, it is all something that makes me wish these folks were in New York City. Then again maybe not because my weight would balloon because of them. This is how good everything I got tasted. This is how you know you have the makings of an amazing bakery. No Linzer tart? No problem. No Hamantashen? No worries. NYC's Marianne buys Meredith's Bread scones, bagels, etc from a farmer's market and perhaps at other specialty retailers. But if you're in Kingston, NY, you have to come to their mothership that's open to the public on Route 28 to get on-the-spot/grab-n-go items. Spread over one big floor, Meredith's B. operates in the back making all their goods on site. The front part of it- which is only a sliver of this whole property, has one small wall with shelves holding various types of pastries, regular-size pies and mini (real mini) pies. Another small wall holds their sliced sourdough loaves, more carbs and Challah rolls-which I got. As gap fillers, there are delectable sweet treats such as these 'Chocolate Explosions' I picked up that resemble chocolatey truffle filling bonbons+ marzipan cookie base. There are also chocolate chip cookies, black & white cookies and so many other goodies. And their Guava Pastitas I didn't get my hands on got me curious. Though not sure what a pastita is- but the guava is calling me. It's a 10-minute drive from where we're staying and won't be the last. My sister's colleague gifted her and the rest of their colleagues some bread and pastries from Meredith's Bread, and after sampling a few, now I'm just left wondering how to get my hands on some more. * Sundried Tomato, Garlic & Basil Hearty and crusty, yet incredibly soft on the inside and packed with so much flavor from the sundried tomatoes, garlic, and basil. This was by far my favorite loaf, and I enjoyed it tremendously, paired alongside some tomato/marinara sauce. * Rosemary & Olive Peppery, earthy, and woodsy from the rosemary, and again wonderfully crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I went here a couple weeks ago because I heard the black and white cookies were amazing. They really are. I got a couple other cookies which were also amazing. I went back today and got a bunch of stuff. The Caramel Explosions changed my life. I like to look at other reviews when I leave a review. I saw one from 6 years ago where some lady had a freak out about a biscotti she got at a farmer's market. She apparently got a refund but still felt the need to leave a 1 star review. I looked at her page and she has a ton of 1 star reviews and very few 5s. People like this are miserable and should just stay in their house. This was a pit stop for us. It's a small place that has quite a good selection of gluten free baked goods and well as regular baked goods and a couple of vegan items. It was great to have gluten free strawberry rhubarb mini-pie. Everything was fresh. The gluten free black and white explosions were very tasty and our favorite. Overall they had the same items in gluten free as well as the regular baked goods which is great for kids who always have to have the same two to three gluten free things in a bakery. On our way to go snowboarding, we casually drove by this place and my hubby pulled a little u-turn when he saw the big "GLUTEN FREE BAKERY" sign. Could this be true? Could this be real life? Things working out for me so easily? Monday morning and it wasn't closed? Gluten free bakery while I'm on a gluten detox? Yes. Yes, it was real life. The bakery was very real too! When you walk in there's a little public access door to their small bakery. Side note: nothing small about this place! Huge back section of hard working bakers making the bread! No, really, they were lol! What I love about this place is they have all sorts of baked goods: muffins, pies, bread, cookies, you name it! They also have the gluten free version of most of those things as a smaller portion. The fact is: they have gluten free baked goods!!!!!!! PEANUT ALLERGY WARNING with Black and white cookie. Please please please start listing the full ingredient list on your items and train your staff. My 4 year old daughter has peanut and tree nut allergies. Your staff informed my mother in law that my daughter would be ok eating the black/white cookie. 20 minutes after eating the cookie, my daughter broke out in severe hives, her entire body and face is swollen, her body temperature and heart rate are elevated - it's been 2.5 days on medicine and she is still not better. Further research on your website shows your black/white cookie contains lupine flour (which is in the same family as peanuts and can be fatally dangerous for some people with peanut allergies). My daughter consuming only a quarter size of this cookie has caused such a severe reaction and we are still on high alert to make sure she doesn't have difficulty breathing. Meredith's Bread has delicious breads and quiches. Their breakfast breads are delicious. I have had their Peach, Dutch Apple and Mixed Berry Breads. All of them are wonderful... Bought Meredith's biscotti at the fresh market near Mt Sinai on East 98th St. The biscotti are the best biscotti I ever had. These were not hard at all, if you leave them unwrapped they will get harder. Choice of varieties. I got the raisin ones. Nice sized biscotti- about 6" long. Tender. Good flavor with a very slight hint of anise seed oil. You won't break your teeth on these like you will with other brands, and you dont have to dunk these unless you want to. Nice buttery cookie, smooth (not whipped) chocolate frosting, hint of lemon in the vanilla - just lovely. After searching for years, I finally found truly unsweetened jams. I am not diabetic. I simply would like to eat healthy, and also happen to find over-sweetened foods unpalatable. So I guess I'm just weird, but products made from cooked down fruits already have concentrated natural sugars, and hence already have more than enough sweetness, per my own, apparently wacko, taste buds. So it's disappointing to me that even in so-called health food stores, I cannot find jams that do not have extra sweetener of some form or another. "No sugar added" jams are typically sweetened with: - Apple juice concentrate --- No extra concentrated "unrefined" sugar please! - Stevia --- No gracias! I don't want substitute sweeteners added, even if they are "natural"! - Xylitol --- Poooey! - Erythritol --- (Retching sounds) So after years (err, I mean decades) of searching (and yes, I'm too lazy to make my own), I found Meredith's Bread's unsweetened jams. Finally someone that makes jams for sale that gets it. Fruit only! Nothing added! And they are fabulously delicious. I particularly love the Black Cherry, but all of the flavors that I've tried so far are yummy. Unfortunately, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. But no prob. I order a bunch of jars at a time, and Meredith's ships them to me. Pro tip: It's not available in their website's shopping system, but if you contact them, they can do your order manually and ship the jams Flat Rate USPS (they will send you a Paypal invoice). It's currently a manual choice, because most customer's order fresh baked goods which need to be sent express, to keep them, err, fresh. Not an issue for jams, so you can save some $$. My 3 year old granddaughter loves their spinach quiche so much, she would eat it every day. It is awesome. All delicious, unadulterated wonderful ingredients. It freezes well too! My husband is very particular about his beloved pecan pie, as is my Southern son-in-law. They enjoyed Meredith's version of it, especially with a solo of vanilla ice cream. Another wonderful discovery Is their line of unsweetened pies and jams! So far I have tried the unsweetened black cherry and apricot mango jams. I really loved the black cherry jam, it was sweet enough without any sugar (which I need to avoid right now) to satisfy my sweet tooth. They also have an entire line of gluten-free products. I get so excited when I see gluten free bakeries that I have to try everything! I ended up with two different loaves of bread -- both excellent and great for sandwiches and toast; a few mini pies (interesting flavors, crumbly crust); muffins (super moist!); and a cinnamon apple bread (not my favorite - texture wasn't great and it needed more apples/spices). Meredith's Bread may be the sole cause of my muffin addiction. It all started one Saturday afternoon while passing by the Kips Bay movie theatre. "A farmer's market! Please can we go??", I asked my friends. They looked at one another and said, "Just be quick about it." There were tents filled with fruits, cheese, meats, and... wait for it... a bread/baked goods tent. I had never seen muffin tops like these before. I knew I had to try one, so I bought the raisin bran. Each bite was filled with so many raisins! How could something so "healthful" taste so delicious? When I got home, I found Meredith's website and calendar. Year round muffins at Abdingdon Square (on Saturdays) and Tompkins Square (on Sundays)! SCORE! So, a few tips if you plan to try out Meredith's muffins at either of these locations. 1. Most of the muffins are gone by 10am at Abdingdon Square. You have to get there early to beat all the little ladies who buy ~20 at a time. 2. Are people even awake by 11am in the east village? Whenever you get yourself up and out, I'm sure there will be treats waiting for you at Tompkins square. 3. Get to either tent before 2:30pm. They set up pretty early and leave mid-afternoon. 4. Learn from my mistakes and don't be fooled into buying the "health muffin". It tastes really funky. You are better off enjoying one of their other treats. 5. Buy a black and white cookie and let me know how it is. It looks like it would be terrible, but I'm somehow always tempted to try it. read more

I have never been to Kingston, NY. For all I know, it could be a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland, a cesspool of diseases and zombies just waiting to eat your brains out. Regardless, Kingston, NY is Shangri-La to me because it is the home of Meredith's Bread. Thanks to NYC's extensive Greenmarket system, I've had the luxury of enjoying MB's baked treats from any number of farmers markets all year long. Most especially, I've been able to eat my weight in their Chocolate Lace cookies. How do I begin to describe the Chocolate Lace? It's light and delicate (like lace, ho ho!), partially covered in delicious milk chocolate, and made from a batter of what I can only imagine is fairy's milk and magical nuts, plucked from Mother Nature's own personal garden. They have a farmers market in the capital building on Wednesdays. There is usually a guy selling baked goods/pies and on one end everything is GLUTEN FREE. I grabbed a apple crumb cake loaf, and it was like a pound cake goodess, sent from the heavens, when (not a lot) but apples in the center, and crummy goodness on top. I recently had Meredith's Bread for the first time at the Bowling Green Farmers Market. Her selection is what caught my eye, at first. Turnovers, pastries, cookies, muffins, cake. Everything! I bought a brownie with walnuts, mixed rugelach, and bread stuffed with spinach, feta, tomato, and honey. The brownie was amazing and not too sweet, which I liked. The rugelach was not sweet at all, which was awesome. The bread was very yummy and left me wanting more. All that for $10.50 really isn't all that bad. I have tried and liked a few of their breads. This review is for the biscotti cookies I just bought at the farmers market in Tarrytown, NY. Do you know what a biscotti is not supposed to be? SOFT. Gross. It is supposed to be a twice baked cookie that is HARD and made to be dunked. I assume they make them soft so people who don't appreciate biscotti will still buy them. They are terrible.
