With gas prices being so high right now, the last thing you want to have to worry about is parking. So grateful this restaurant offers affordable valet services. The restaurant is simply beautiful. Love the artsy details. There were many lively celebrations on this day. The noise level was its own kind of vibe. Elizabeth introduced herself as our server and offered us drinks. We were definitely ready for them. I was craving a spicy margarita which was delicious and my friend ordered the lichee loco and raved about being able to taste each flavor. We started off with shrimp ceviche, fresh guacamole with mangoes and house made chips that were amazing. We had the manager come to our table to speak with us and to check to see if we were enjoying ourselves. We were. Elizabeth came back to see if we were ready to order entrees. Brussel sprouts were a bit busy and not at all a big hit. They are topped with way too many ingredients. Bring on the carne asada tacos, the brisket tacos and the quesabirria. Everything was absolutely well flavored. There was plenty of food, even for leftovers. Or midnight snacking. We ended with another drink and we shared a flan with raspberries. If you are ever in the River North area, stop by Mercadito's for elevated Mexican cuisine, good drinks and lively vibes.

I really want to give them the fourth star here, you can even consider this a 3.5, just because the service was amazing!! We had such a fun and cool server. She was great! I also love the decor and vibes here. The photo op with the neon sign is SO fun. I want to come back to try lunch or dinner service, and will probably stick to more casual dishes then. I'm sure it'll win me over the next time. We did come for brunch for restaurant week and thought it was a great deal, it felt like two entrees for $30. First course I got the chicken flautas which I LOVED! Great flavor, toppings were perfect. My partner got the quesabirria and absolutely devoured it. The steak and eggs were where we felt let down. I had asked for my steak medium well and it was very pink, I'd even say medium RARE. It's a thin cut so temperature shouldn't be under done in my opinion. My partner got his medium and was also disappointed in the temperature. It comes with a sauce on it and I knew I was going to end up taking it home anyway so I didn't send it back. It was pretty good when I reheated it at home! That said, it was a pretty grisly cut of meat and, as we were marathoning steaks for restaurant week, my least favorite steak of restaurant week. I also ordered my eggs over hard and felt they were underdone, the yolks were done just slightly enough to be not runny but were gel-y, almost like a soft boiled egg. These were also better once reheated. The flavors on the steak were good! And the sauce was really really good!! But underdone food is a big one for me. Again, I would totally come back and get flautas again. I'd love to try their salsas too. Just a case of the wrong items to order, I think.

Tried this place out a friend's Birthday dinner last night. We had a party of 7 and made reservations in advance (highly recommend). Food was fantastic - the mango guacamole & hongos tacos were definite highlights! I also got an N/A cocktail - Shake The Mango Tree - which was so delicious. Service was decent but not great (they were very busy). Overall a great experience!

This is a beautiful location. The server was very attentive. It did get a little loud as there was a large party enjoying themselves. Overall great dining

Came here for solo brunch date on a Saturday. Pretty interior decor. Lively energy. Good Spanish music playing. Had the short rib quesabirrias, they were so crunchy and savory, 9/10. The French toast was so fluffy and moist, 8.5/10 really enjoyed it wasn't too sweet. The mocktail purple rain was my least favorite item of what I ordered, as I am more of a sweet mocktail girl, 7/10. Next time I would ask server for sweetness level. My server was Yana, she had a cheerful spirit, appreciated her vibe a lot. If you are considering a place to have a cute solo brunch date, I recommend. Put on a cute outfit and head on to Mercadito!

The vibes are there! Beautiful moody restaurant that really sets the seen. The staff is great and attentive and very accommodating. As far as food it was good! The special granola with pomegranate seeds was a great way to start off the meal with fresh warm tortilla chips. The tacos were the best things on the menu by far. Everything's was fresh and delicious, I would highly suggest the pastor tacos. Over all it was a good experience.

One of my go-to happy hours in the city. The service is okay but can be good. They do rush you in a friendly way because it can get extremely busy. Keep ordering or it's uncouth to sit too long. No babysitting your drink or food so time can pass. Great seating inside and even better during the summer. The camarón tacos are by far the best (only complaint is how small they are). They have a wonderful array of salsas, guacamoles, & ceviches for shareables. The drinks are the best part of the visit. You get what you pay for. Overall 7/10

My girlfriend and I were able to get a last-minute Saturday night reservation at Mercadito, and I'm glad we did. We kicked dinner off with a spread of dips that included their Especial, Chile de Árbol, Tomatillo Salsa, and Tradicional guacamoles because why not. To wash it down, we ordered a Spicy Mango-Rita and the Amiga Sand cocktail. The Mango-Rita wasn't exactly "spicy" (the tajín rim was the only spicy part), but it was super refreshing, so no complaints. For our entrees, we split the Pastor and Carne tacos. The Carne was pretty good, especially when topped with the Chile de Árbol salsa. But the Pastor? That one was a whole different story. Packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and that pineapple topping was chef's kiss. Service was great, the vibe was lively, and overall it's a solid choice if you're craving upscale Mexican in River North.... and don't mind paying $25 for four tacos.

The pescadillas dish was very well composed. I really enjoyed the creativity from the squid ink masa. I thought that the spiciness from the chipotle tinga really cut through the crispness of the tortilla. And the pico de gallo highlighted the mahi mahi. A special shoutout to our waitress who went above and beyond to split our appetizers four ways for us as well as our entrees.

Yana was phenomenal. She's very fun, nice personality and very professional. Mercadito is my home. I called off work just to come here for happy hours because that's the only time they serve their delicious nachos. I love it here and Yana made the experience even better. The food and drinks never disappoint.

I'm baaaack! I've been here for brunch, but this time I went for restaurant week! I was completely satisfied, full, and content about the deal they had. $45 dinner and I got a full size of each entree. I got the shrimp ceviche, carne asada tacos, and the churros (so delish and warm). The shrimp ceviche was perfect- tasted fresh. The order of 4 tacos was super filling. And lastly, those warm churros came with caramel sauce, berry sauce, and chocolate sauce. Just so so so good!

Mercadito has a little bit of something for everyone. I got the Quesabirria which was delightful. The consume was comforting and well seasoned. I would also recommend the poblano Mac and cheese, with its gooey yummy cheese and bits of corn. The service was quick and professional with multiple people cleaning our table between appetizers and finishing dishes. The tres leches was dry so I wouldn't consider it tres leches. The ambiance was hip and you could tell a lot of people came there on the regular after work.

It was no wonder when we arrived that there was a line out the door. We waited around 45 minutes, and the bouncer was a really nice fellow who kept track of the numbers and people at the door. Upon entering, we were immersed in a dimly lit retro-style lounge. It was quite loud inside and packed as we walked to our seats. The server was great at taking our orders and offering suggestions. I opted for the French 75, which featured sparkling wine and mixed gin, brandies, and citrus. The drink was delicious, but STRONG. I don't know what they put in the cocktails in America, but I am always finished after one drink. Needless to say, we were all struggling to finish our own drinks. My favourite touch was the coasters, I ended up keeping all of them so that I can reuse them at my galentines event next year. The 'bisous' with the kiss on the other side is a perfect touch! I think the drinks are fairly priced for USD. I would love to return someday to try other drinks and bar bites, and also try their sister bar, Sparrow.

Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!

The leche de Tigre (think ceviche in a glass) was savory, tangy, and something I would order again and again. This is not the place for a quiet conversation. It may be one of the loudest restaurants I've visited in quite some time, and a nearby birthday celebration only added to the energy. That said, the atmosphere is part of the appeal. If you're looking for a fun, celebratory evening with friends or family, Gilt Bar delivers. I can't imagine choosing it for a business dinner. We started with the Tenderloin Steak Tartare and onion rings. Both were excellent. My daughter was craving the Bolognese, while I ordered the vodka rigatoni. The portions were generous, and both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The truffle mafaldine appears to be the menu's most celebrated pasta and receives plenty of attention on Yelp, but we were very happy with our selections. Service was spot on throughout the evening. Food arrived with good pacing, drinks were refreshed promptly, and our server struck the right balance between attentive and intrusive. For dessert, we shared the gooey skillet cookie. Be warned: this thing arrives at the table with nuclear-level heat. The vanilla ice cream isn't just there for flavor, it's there for protection. One unusual observation: the floors seemed surprisingly slippery throughout the restaurant, something we noticed more than once. Our bill came to $159 before tip, which felt reasonable given the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. Between the lively atmosphere, strong food, excellent service, and vibrant bar scene, it's easy to understand why Gilt Bar has remained popular for more than 15 years

Great night! John sat us at a great table on the main level. We were 7 people, but sat in curved…read morebooth which was perfect because the conversation was great. Gigi was an our server and she was attentive and informative. For food we ordered a variety, cucumber salad, the burrata, fried artichoke, French onion bread, octopus, hamachi, rib eye, filet and ravioli. Everything was amazing!!!! It is a small menu, but so many amazing options, you can't go wrong. We then went to the night club. Gina was our server and she was amazing also. Everyone had a blast Venue is beautiful, food is great, staff and vibe made the whole night!

Even so, it wasn't enough to necessitate the price tag, which all of my friends and I were surprised by when we paid at the end. The cocktails were outstanding - we all enjoyed our choices. For some of us, they were enjoyable enough where we got the same one more than once 0:) Our server was not very friendly - she does not need to act like our BFF or anything like that, but she was cold and seemed annoyed by our questions and such. She also had no idea about the wine, so my friend just rolled the dice on what she wanted without knowing much about it. She wound up liking it - but more clarity would've been helpful (or even seeking out someone else working there for more info!). Minor environment note: The largest artwork there is a triptych of photographs - three famous women: Princess Diana, Sharon Tate (I think?), and Marilyn Monroe. There is a horizontal band going across where their eyes all line up, and the band replaces their eyes with cartoon eyes, likely of Disney princesses. It is supposed to be quirky but I found it creepy, especially since it featured three famous women who met untimely ends.

We decided to dine at the bar so we could take advantage of the everyday happy hour and use our InKind app. The espresso martini was a HIT. Our favorites were the chips and dips, cheeseburger, chicken taco pita, truffle fries, and oysters. The wings were just okay and I did not love the herb aioli. Our bartender server, I believe her name was Delia, sorry if I spelled it wrong, was super nice. She got slammed but still gave great service the whole time. The ambience is gorgeous and the music really set the vibe. Would definitely come back!

Even the area they kept water for easy access was well thought out. I started with a dozen oysters and ended with the wagyu smash burger, as it was a must order. The oysters are $1 during happy hour, which is 4pm - 6pm everyday. The oysters were fresh and the perfect size, not too big or too small. It came with two sauces, lemons, and mini Tabascos. The wagyu smash burger was pretty good and filling. I'm not the biggest fan of burgers but this one is definitely worth trying! My waiter was attentive and chill. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and can't wait to come back!
