Prices are competitive and items they carry are often unique to their own stores, that is, they're hard to find anywhere else. About two years ago, I purchased a stove from Menards on Van Dyke in Warren, MI. The stove was almost $ 1,000.00. This stove has NEVER worked correctly. I have been to the store several times and have had several repairmen out. I have been told that it can't be repaired. I purchased an additional warranty, which expires in August. I've always liked this store. The workers have always been friendly, but today I went there and after checking out I wanted to make sure I had what I needed to get a rebate. I did not have my glasses, since I only need them for reading, so I went to the customer service desk and when I asked the lady about what I needed she responded with, " Well, we suggest customers read the bottom of their receipt." The lady didn't want to be inconvenienced and have to do a little work, but ultimately wasted more of her time and mine then if she would had just answered my question to begin with. Picked up the siding we'd been waiting on, they loaded it into our truck last night - in the dark. Today we unloaded it and got ready to put it up. Every piece has damage. The edges are cracking and busted. One piece has several huge scratches in the middle of it. So disappointed. We don't have time to re-order and wait for it to come in before the snow flies. I read all these great reviews about LP Smartside so I can only assume it's Menard's crappy shipping and handling process that damaged all our siding. Did I say - never again to this stupid store? i want to tell you about the horrible service I received yesterday at manards at 32501 van dyke ave. in warren michigan. i went in to get diet about 10 bags and i went in the middle doors and into the garden center looking for a cart, flat bed. NO carts anywhere. i went out into the outside garden center NO carts. i walked back into the store still looking and another gentleman was also looking for a cart to shop in the garden center. i find a worker and she tells me the carts are in the garden center but she is busy and shell call someone for me. well guess what. no one came to help, so instead of getting 10 bags of dirt i got 4 bags and had to use one of their lawn wheelbarrels that they sell to haul my dirt. i get up to the register and a worker ask if i need help and he will load my dirt. i said thanks and told the chashier that i was only buying the dirt. well the guy that was gonna help said to i have to go now and left me. I than told the cashier that i had to use the wheelbarrel to get the dirt to my car in the loading zone. well as soon as i got to my car somebody showed up and offed to help when i told her that i did not pay for the wheelbarrel just the dirt she said I know and put my dirt in my car. is this what you call customer service. i would really like somebody to explain to me why you treat your customers so badly? cathleenestack@yahoo.com read more

We are updating a kitchen at one of our rental properties and hired a contractor to take care of getting it done. We had met and figured out what we will need and put together an estimate on the cost. Then he went over where I could get some of the materials beyond what he included in his estimate. He suggested I check out Menards for these items and also gave me a couple ideas for colors for the new flooring and countertop. I had previously browsed for ideas at a Home Depot, my usual place for these materials, so I already had an idea of pricing. And there aren't any Menards near me so I normally go to Home Depot or Lowe's but I found this location in Warren that was not too far away and went in to find what I needed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the store was neat and well laid out and I quickly started finding what I was looking for. I also found plenty of selection to choose from as well as good competitive prices on everything. The employees were friendly and very helpful and what I wanted was available and in stock; plus they had an 11% rebate on everything! Overall this was a fairly pleasant experience. read more

What a joke this store is. I bought doors online to pickup in the west Bloomfield store. When I got home I noticed the doors were damaged. I decided to take them to the closest menards in warren. They charged me a 25% restocking fee because it was an online order. They wouldn't even acknowledge the fact that the doors were damaged. I've spent over $8,000 with mendards this year on home renovations and they are gonna get away with this? You just lost a loyal customer Scott! Bought Birch butcher block counter top I use to make cutting boards for my small business on Feb 4 and cut up the top this past Saturday. I began to machine the blanks on Monday and went out to the shop the next day and found all of the blanks had split at the glue joints. I bought it with a couple of gouges in it because it was the best one they had in stock at the time. They gave me ten percent off. The store manager Peter at the Warren MI store was willing to exchange it for me untill I told him about the discount which he claims it changes something in the system which does not allow him to exchange it. He could help me if he wanted but he seemed more excited that he did not have to help me. Very disappointed in Menards customer service. I am out the cost of the board and hundreds of dollars worth of product. Not sure why Peter would pass the buck and not help me. read more

I love Menards. I drove out here on a very snowy slippery evening so that I could just take a look at their huge selection of Home Improvement items. Menards is famous for having a great selection and wonderful prices. Be sure you bring your measurements because you will find something that you won't want to leave without. This particular location offers contractors on site to assist with questions in regards to your DIY projects. I was able to get questions answered about a light bar that I plan to install myself in my new bathroom. They also match any color of paint with their wonderful computer system. There is no problem ever finding someone to help here at Menards, because everyone is as friendly as your local hardware store. Thank you Menards for offering quality items at great prices. Can I give this place zero stars? I've been here two days in a row as we are adding shelving units to my company's warehouse. What. A. Joke! Workers have no idea where anything is. They even look it up on their computers and it gives the wrong location. Prices are NOT as posted. Items are placed in the wrong locations. It's a total disaster. Day 1 - I was buying multiple workbenches. Price posted on the shelf: 59.99. When I got to the register: $74.99. I pointed this out. The cashier had no idea what to do and called her manager. Manager called for a price check. Five minutes later, I just left the register, walked over and took a photo or the SKU myself. Then they proceeded to tell me it was a different SKU. Then why do you have different items placed there? Fine, whatever. I paid the additional $15... I just wanted to get out of here now. Day 2 - Thought I was making a store pickup, when really it was a You-Pay-First-&-go-get-it-yourself! Uhhh, ok.... So now I have to ask for help FINDING them. No one has any idea where this SKU is. Finally find it... and it turns out the 150 lb bench tops I ordered and already paid for AND lugged through the store were all significantly damaged. Just awesome....(sigh). These match the workbenches purchased on day one or I'd buy them elsewhere. I had to speak with three different managers, then argue with the rude Boomer in customer service just to get a $10 discount on these beat to garbage workbench toppers. If I hadn't already paid and carried these mammoths to the front of the store, I would not have bought them at all. Horrible store, horrible experience. We have close to $5000 worth of shelving we need to purchase in the next month. I can assure you NONE of this will be spent at Menards. read more

I love this place! Unlike Home Depot they water their flowers and there are multiple people there to help. I only went for a few more flowers. I got what I needed for a great price! The only thing that sucked was the mulch they had advertised was out! I asked if they could do a different brand for the same price.. big NOPE! Figures. Oh well, guess Home Depot gets my business for that. Know what else I like about Menards? They have food in the back, my kid got cotton candy! Oh Menards I am so disappointed!! Leaving my experience with your store hoping this doesn't happen to others. I have been in your store three times; first time was to purchase a new blower that was on sale. Although I already own one I was intrigued my your ad and the price. It was a Sunday I took home the rebate slip and completed and mailed first thing on Monday (it's been 4 months and still haven't received my rebate). Second visit same thing saw your ad and a good price for garbage disposal again rebate slipped filled out properly and sent in ..... No rebate refund for this either!!!! I have written to the company I've called and checked the online site .... nothing nothing nothing no call back no email back and no money back from the rebates. The total for both is $35.00 Third time ..... oh boyyyyy needed a new front door and screen door (not a cheap project) my contractor insisted this place had the best pricing and doors verses the competition. Due to the fact I am limited from the condo association rules I said okay. He gave me a name of the employee to work with who was excellent. This guy took his time explaining all there is to know about doors and screen doors and even the hardware!! Very impressed and so I ordered. It had to be special order due to want I wanted and was told it would be shipped to the store within 7 days. Wow this is on 12/7. I received an email everything was ready for pick up. The contractor was notified he picked up as we schedule for install after Jan 1st. It's now the day of install; it's chilly with flurries ... the door frame door everything is torn out and my contractor unwraps our of box and I scream "Wait Stop Wrong Door!!!" OMG this door which was sealed in the box with the correct order number was NOT the door I ordered. Different glass, wrong color hardware etc... it's 4PM freezing in my house snowing and both he and I are calling the store. Kevin the manager was not to helpful and was telling me I am wrong!!! What I'm staring at the wrong door with the correct numbers on the box and he's saying well I guess will just have to order another one and just bring this one back today. Are you kidding me ... did he think I was just going to hang a towel up or sheet where a door is suppose to be and hope and pray I'm not robbed or killed during the next 7 days!!!! What horrible customer service. Why am I asking for him to double check the back and floor room because maybe just maybe it's somewhere there to be found! NOPE all this guy did was look in his computer and say "do you want to place an order" Yes Kevin I want to order I want MY door that I ordered and paid for!!!!!! Let's see how long it takes for this to be ordered and arrive. What a nightmare to say the least and no one has yet to apologize. I went to Menards in Warren, Michigan on May 15th 2022 and ordered cabinets for my kitchen. After 6 weeks of waiting they sent to many cupboards because their design team ordered wrong. On July 29th we went back and returned everything and reordered a new design. The cupboards came in 2 weeks later but the end caps and one side panel did not. It is now Sept. 1st and I am still waiting for the endcaps and side panel. They said all would be in by Aug.12th. Now they are saying the week of Labor Day. I have been trying to keep my cool but I will never go to Menards for anything ever again and I hope no one else does. Its been over 3 months and I am still waiting for everything. read more

I ordered some lights for my home at Menards.com.Nothing fancy the three lights were about 95. I was never notified they came. I went to the store to pick them up. When I opened them I realized they were not the right size. I went to return them and was told there is a 25% restocking fee! I explained I had never ordered from Menards.com and I didn't recall seeing anything on the site saying they had a restocking fee. So the return clerk called a manager. I explained again and asked for a store credit. I was planning purchasing other lights. I was told No and nothing she could do. I had the worst experience ever today 3/29 at this location. I bought a spray painter on 3/22 and they overcharged me by $81 dollars. I didn't know about it until I came back to exchange the unit for another one because of a missing part. The cashie told me that I had already exchanged the unit for a smaller one on 3/24, which was impossible because I was up North and didn't return home until the 3/28. the cashier accused me of stealing the unit and the manager Emily told me half the truth. they made a mistake on 3/22 and covered up the mistake on 3/24, so it looked as if I came in and exchanged for a different unit on 3/24. Waited for an hour for them to pull the security camera footage and got a lie from Emily. I will be coming back tomorrow to return the unit and will take my business to Home Depot. nothing like getting treated like a criminal and they turned around and lied to your face. read more

This review is based on the Cedar/lumber outside. Been here three times for cedar and the wood was all not stacked and thrown in here telling me that the guys aren't doing their job and stacking lumber. You need to remove about 25-30 boards just to find good 2x6x8 cedar. I left the wood removed and somebody threw it back in stacked the next day causing more crappy, warped wood. I have no issues replacing removed wood that was previously stacked but won't replace crap wood I remove that wasn't stacked correctly in the first place. Get your employees to do their job Menards!! After seeing the unstacked wood this week, I went and complained, got a refund and drove to Birmingham to get my wood from a lumberyard that stacks their cedar and has quality unwarped cedar. They made him get searched because they saw him put something in is pocket! His keys? Duh! I'm pretty sure it was discrimination! Never coming back to Menards! Ever! Went to van dyke store the Thursday before Memorial Day specifically to shop in the garden center and was very disappointed. The majority of plants were in really bad shape. They appeared not to have been watered for many days and many were beyond salvaging. What a waste. I was surprised because the store does have quality products at a good price and I don't understand the neglect of the garden center. I wanted to share my opinion with the associates and the management and was met with a run around. I spoke with a cashier and a manager but they could not have been bothered in the least and directed me to go to the hardware department and ask for the manager there. So basically they blew me off. They wouldn't honor the moen showerhead I wanted at 24.99 because someone had placed multiple boxes of the showerhead under the wrong price tag. Even the display didn't have a price tag! This place sold me open box non working Air Compressor as new, hardware worker/manager lied to me that unit was new and is not customer return even if unit was smelling on gas, next day they wouldn't take it back because gasoline was in, I had to take 150lbs compressor to they designated service which couldn't start or fix compressor either. Finally after driving around 3 day they took compressor back for refund. Workers ok but management very rude. I will never buy anything from Menards again. read more

I love that they are enforcing the mask rules. If you can't wear a mask stay out of the stores. Whether you like it or not, Menards is a private business and they can refuse you service. No one cares if you cannot medically tolerate a mask. You are not welcome without wearing a mask. These employees are putting themselves in danger everyday so you continue to shop.
