We are here all the time. Honestly, at LEAST once a week. We are finishing our basement this winter, and we usually buy our summer yard supplies here as well. The store is nicely organized. We have been to a few other locations that don't have as clear of signage, or have scattered their aisles. This location has interior decorating such as light fixtures, vanities, paint, etc. on one side. Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc in the center. And lumber on the far side. Really convenient. Also the workers are actually knowledgeable on their areas. Often you go to a store and get a high school or college kid that only knows the location of items, but here they actually understand the materials and how to use them and can give recommendations. My only complaints would be the check out. They don't always staff the best so lines can get pretty long. Go on a weekday to avoid that. Also, their lumber yard is VERY disorganized and many times we are directed to the wrong area. That could use some serious improvement and is usually the worst part of our trips. read more

Located in Elk River, off of 169 next to Coborn's, Menards really does have EVERYTHING--even food! My fiance and I have been here plenty--for everything from light fixtures, to Christmas lights, WOOD, (huge selection!) and even greeting cards and ketchup! The selection never disappoints and the organization of the store is fairly easy to follow--once you get used to it....I'm the type of shopper that always asks where something is if I can't find it, (which has happened plenty at this store.) I can't say I feel their customer service is at its prime here. I always have trouble finding someone who works there to ask for help. A couple times even, I was at the back of the store by the appliances and I had to walk all the way up to the register! More staff readily available, por favor. read more

I disagree that this place is staffed with people who know whats up. The past few times I've asked basic questions in the electrical department the 16/yo girl just gives me a deer in headlights look. Then tonight I'm looking for stainless zip ties and she tries to brush me off and say "I'm not sure" so I asked her to find out for me. So she goes to her computer and just continues to sigh and scroll the mouse wheel for five minutes. I just gave up and said "forget it" put the items in my hand back on the shelf and left. Great customer service..ha And to top it off I have been finding better deals on items at Home Depot that are also made in the USA. Menards is a lot of Chinese garbage at the same prices. read more

Will never shop in your stores again! My sister and brother in law were in your store today. He was not wearing a mask but she was. She was the only one purchasing anything and you refused service to her. Luckily there is a video to back up my claims and it's going around social media and being sent to all news outlets. Total discrimination and with luck maybe they'll sue. We have a lot of home remodeling but will go elsewhere. My brother in law had a $30k + yearly contracting account he is now canceling. I hope the word spreads and you lose more business!! read more

I didn't really find any of their deals that Grace a lot of the stuff you have to pay full price and then wait for the rebates the staff was very very rude not helpful at all it felt like a real waste of time read more

Unfortunately they make it so hard to order curbside and or get anything from yard. I have delivery go pick stuff up but first someone(in back) has to do a pick list even if I have all my sku's. Go up front to pay then go in back to yard to pick up....it always his a clock suck to shop there. read more

I went in today and the girl at the customer service counter rolled her eyes at me when I asked where the grout was. It was so odd. I've never encountered this before. I guess I will be going to the other big box home improvement store in town. read more

Menards in Elk R is a great place to get all you need for home repairs and projects. Recently had to return a few items from a special order and at customer service up front, CJ Walberg, was great at helping out...she relayed the situation to the person who was working the following shift so it was smooth and easy when we finished our return!! This place is staffed with people who know how to do the project you are attempting to do. Very impressed with this location. I have very little trouble locating and researching the best possible way to do something, I know I shouldn't be doing. read more

I have been shopping at the Elk River location because it is the closest to me. My experience today and in the past has found that it is extremely poorly stocked, I have left disappointed several times. Today I was checking out and the receipt did not print, not a big deal but the front end person came to fix the problem, and I commented ( in error ) that I wouldn't generally care but for the money back promotion ( 11% ) and the front end person snapped at me, it is not money back. She was very rude and I am really tired of coming in to the store and leaving without what I came in for. I plan to quit using this store, and that's too bad because I like Menards. read more

I've bought and spent a lot of money for the Elk River Menards and I think they do there best for what they have. There's couple bad apples there but that's why the managers are there for to get rid of them. I've finish everything that has not been finish from my house and outside from here. I have no complaints, the staff is nice and guides me to the right places as requested. My parents aren't clear on English (first generation here) and they were nice and respectful and helped them as I kept quiet to see how they would treat my parents. I love this place and go there all the time. I wish they would expand because the Menards in Elk River don't have up to date stuff much for us younger crowd. I'm saying this because I bought one white blind and expecting they would send more but they never did. So I had to go to the one in Coon Rapids. Other then the little stuff, I have to admit, living the for a dozen years and finally getting into hands on work with my house. I love this place. I do a lot of shopping at the Menards in Elk River Store and have to totally agree with Jessa, the girl that posted right before me. The store has most everything, so is HUGE. Their customer service NEEDS WORK. I'm at the counter checking out with an order of well over $100.00. I had made an error on one of my items and it was way back in the Pets department (the back of the store). I am 67 years old. Do you think they would have someone from the store exchange the item and walk back there to do it. No............. Off I went. I really felt like leaving everything in my cart and saying, "I think I've changed my mind about my purchases at this store and don't want any of this". But I didn't. My husband and I have been shopping at this location for years. Until my specially ordered counter top, I would gladly have given them a 4+ rating. However, we have had a very poor experience with this process recently. We specially ordered a countertop for a kitchen island, and were given a 2 wk delivery promise. A week before the promised date, yay!, we went and picked up the top. We had to go to 3 different locations to find it. With excitement we tried installing it when we got home. It didn't fit! I immediately called the store after measuring the top and finding it over 1/8" short of what we ordered. The person put a new order in for a replacement, but when asked refused to talk of compensation for the mistake. We waited an additional 2 wks without hearing of the replacement, when I called the store. The lady said the top was there and when asked, informed me it had been there for 5 days. I rechecked my email including the spam folder, and never received notice. I also realized that they had failed to give me the new order # so I could have tracked it. We immediately go to pick up the new top and return the other which had been sitting in my kitchen useless. After waiting 10-15 min for them to find the order, the employee then insulted our construction skills. He measured the old top and told us it was exact. When my husband stepped up and looked, it was what we said, 3/16" too short. He then said, you ordered it that close? The company was given a 1/8" wiggle room, and telling us that is not enough, is straight up insulting. Their handling of this outsourced countertop mistake is ridiculous. It was not our mistake and yet we were made to wait and deal with it with our time, gas, and rude employees. read more

Just wanted to share my poor service with Menard's and Frigidare, got a new fridgerator last Thursday, delivered damaged has not worked from get go. I called and complained that I wanted a working fridge, a week later still no new fridge and maybe by next Tuesday some one will look at it, apparently I have anger issues because I wanted a new fridge to work. DONT BUY FROM MENARDS , AND DONT GET A FRIGIDARE, nothing but headaches. ( Elk River Menards ). Mike. F. read more
