Horrible first time experience! Brainless and unmotivated employees with no urgency or respect for peoples time. Overpriced and I will NEVER eat here again. Ugh, what a waste. read more

Melty Way - Do not eat here! Slow and overpriced. - Desserts Near Me - Sandy, Utah

This place really should be a stand along restaurant not in a mall food court. You don't get to see all of their flavored mayo's which really make the sandwiches and they charge you extra for them instead of it just being self serve. The staff there also doesn't seem to care and the food isn't made very well. They should've kept their location in Fort Union or they should move to one of the empty store fronts in Sandy. Makes me sad because I used to love Melty Way but this location has ruined it for me with all the bad sandwiches I have been given. read more

If you are on a diet it's a good option. Ordered a full Caesar salad. Smallest full salad I've ever been given. Not worth the money. Tasted okay. read more

Great place for the whole family! The melts! Chicken avocado, short rib, 4 cheese, Rueben! Everyone found something they loved. Winning! Great service! Loved it! read more

This place has the best variety of grilled cheese sandwiches and they are all delicious. They have gluten free bread and can make any sandwich gluten free so I get to enjoy something I normally can't have. read more

Got the chicken avocado sandwich and it was disgusting. I'm usually never a harsh critic of food and this was gross. The avocado was a watery spread that tasted like Mexican food. The tomato soup was gross too. The chicken tasted like it has been frozen and the food looks NOTHING like their menu. I'm sad there are so many people in line for this crappy food. SO. SO. BAD. Don't waste your money. read more

Melty Way - Such gross avocado spread on the chicken avocado. They should have real sliced avocado for such a steep price. Not good food. - Desserts Near Me - Sandy, Utah

I decided to give this location a second chance after trying them a few months ago. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I takes an average of 20-25 minutes to get your sandwich. I could have driven home and made my own sandwich before they would have made mine. They're incredibly overpriced. For my wife and I to have our sandwich and fries it was over $20! These are cheese sandwiches and cafeteria fries! In both of my experiences, they don't really seem to have a sense of urgency to making customers food. My hunched over, arthritic grandmother could butter bread and put cheese on it faster. I'm pretty well convinced that I could have orders food and picked it up from every restaurant in the food court before I would have received my order from here. Avoid it at all costs unless you have an entire day to burn for some mediocre food. read more

20 minutes for a food court lunch is legitimately one of the saddest things that I have ever experienced. First: The sign says freshly made chips, but as the food station is completely open you can see them crack open that lovely bag of Lays potato chips. Honestly if you're gonna lie do it with something that is not so blatantly obvious. Second: A sandwich is one of the easiest meals you can create, as all you have to do is put ingredients on bread and heat it up. Yet, somehow the complexity of this task seemed out of the employees capabilities. There was no urgency or consideration of people's time so for anyone who cares 0/10 would recommend this stop. read more

Freaking terrible. This place is what we compare all bad experiences to for the last several months. The employees were HORRIBLE. Unmotivated, unkempt, slow, and disorganized. They gave my food to the wrong person (after waiting a solid 30 minutes for it), she touched it, realized it wasn't hers, brought it back, the employee grabbed it, put it on a different plate, and then tried to give it to me. I told them several time in different ways what had happened and that I needed them to remake it. My husband had to tell them for them to understand. Then another 20 minutes later I finally got a mediocre grilled cheese I should NEVER have paid for. Absolutely unacceptable. I would burn the establishment to the ground if it wasn't so close to Orange Julius. Haha! Just kidding... But seriously... read more

Food is good. Service and wait is horrible. No joke, my wife ordered, I walked over to the cheesesteak place and ordered. I got my food and sat down. Started eating. Finished eating. Then melty way called her name. I was finished before she even started. All three employees were standing at the order here sign very interested in the ordering process apparently. Then when a woman complained two moved to the cash register and sandwich building station. Unless you have nothing better to do, or need to kill time while your wife shops. Go anywhere else. You could even hit up the pizza joint across the road and be back before your grilled cheese is ready. No joke. Legit. read more

Okay food for the wait and cost. Drinks not included in the combo and the meats on the sandwich are pretty minimal. Staff was confused when I was unhappy with my sandwich. Would have had better value at another place in the food court. read more

Going to resonate some of the other reviews here. First time having Melty Way, and the sandwich was just okay. Fries were fresh, which was nice, but didn't save them from the mediocre sandwich and the unnecessarily long wait times. I was the only one that had ordered anything and it still took almost 15 minutes to get my food. Might try another location but not impressed with this one. read more

This used to be one of my favorite lunch time places but quality and service has greatly diminished. The sandwiches used to have a buttery crust but now it appears and tastes like they do not use any butter at all, the sandwiches are just dry toast and the amount of cheese and meat has been cut in half. read more

Ham and Swiss sandwich is fantastic. Takes a couple minutes Longer to get the food but well worth the wait for the quality. Food was fresh and staff was friendly prayed Overall great value read more

It's in a mall, you kind of assume it's going to be really quick but when they had no other customers it took 15 min just to get the order

This place really sucks they are so slow and it's a freaking Monday it doesn't take that long to make a sandwich when there are three people working standing around doing nothing it's bullshit read more

This has to be the worse sandwich I have ever eaten. Overpriced grilled cheese that was dry and no flavor. I ordered the turkey bacon with fries. Save your money and time go elsewhere. read more

The food was okay, but not for the price that you pay. They do advertise the place well and make the sandwiches look yummy, but when you get the sandwich, there's not a lot of cheese on it. Service was slow for being at a mall food court. Would I eat here again. Not at these prices. read more

Awesome grilled cheese gourmet sandwiches! I've loved every one I've tried. Comfort food for sure! Plus clean, classy decor

Excellent grilled cheese with delicious unexpected combinations! Their salads are really good too! Kid and mom approved!! I highly recommend Melty Way! read more

If I could give this place a worse rating I would. Horrible service and management. While the staff struggled to keep up with the rush the manager just hung out in the back, and would occasionally come out to yell at the staff, then she would go back to standing around. I stood in line for 10 minutes before my order was able to be taken, then it took another 50 minutes of standing around to receive my food which was made horribly. I ordered a chicken parmesan but received toasted bread with marinara and a few chunks of chicken. I asked for a refund because of the horrible experience and the manager grudgingly agreed, but never actually put the money back on my card. I will never get food from this place again. read more

As I was waiting for my sandwich, I noticed one of the employees didn't have their gloves on and was cutting an avocado. She ended up cutting herself with the knife trying to get the avocado pit out and kept making the salad. I was so disgusted, I couldn't even eat my sandwich and was even more glad that I didn't order the salad. I feel bad for the gal that did. YUCK... I'll never eat here again. read more

Ordered through Grubhub.... only got half my order.... grubhub refunded the missing items but I called the store to talk with the manager. Raymond, the manager for the evening is obviously not manager material. I calmly explained what had happened and that Grubhub had taken care of the cost. Then asked if he, as the manager, had people checking orders before they went out... to which he answered, "we are very busy"... "Quality is more important than speed...does someone check the orders before they go out"..."No"..."Don't you think you should change that?"...."Sorry sir, We are very busy tonight".... While I did get a little upset with the lack of ownership of the problem I held my responses to a respectful level. When asked who his boss was and when they worked next, I was given two names and a response of "maybe tomorrow"... I'll be calling Curt or Alberto tomorrow.... a store manager should be teaching and empowering their subordinates to handle mistakes correctly. If this is the level of quality expectation set by the store manager, this store like the others will soon be out of business. And with proper management this franchise would flourish as the product is good....although, not sure about the soup as I didn't get any... read more

Yummmmm how could you get better than a crispy Melty sandwich and some soup?! Favorite place to come when the fall starts to set in and I get the craving for some soup and Hot sandwiches! read more

My wife and I come to the SLC area several times a year and discovered a Melty Way location that is now closed (Sugar House area). My wife was adamant that we go to another location, if available, so we drove to this one. The mall where it is located is a little dated, but the food was the same. The jalapeno grilled cheese was rich and delicious, the tomato soup was creamy and the draft root beer was an excellent addition. The employees were obviously inexperienced, which is to be expected for a mall food court but it did not detract from the food. Too bad they don't have stand-alone locations anymore! read more

Generally pretty slow, takes 15 minutes for them to put soup in a cup even on a slow day, the order is wrong almost every time. If they could improve on speed at least that would be great. read more

My first impression....The workers work very slowly. Watched the girl that was making the sandwiches and she moves so slow. Finally got to order and then the wait. BIG, disappointment! Over priced and not very good food. read more

I would rate it lower if I could. Ate there today, SO SLOW. To top it off, they REFUSED to give me a $.25 (if that) bag for my leftovers because they didn't think I needed one with the amount of food I purchased and because I was also going to carry my parents food in the same bag from another food shop. Never eat there again and will make sure to tell everyone I know how terrible the service was. read more
