Got the chicken avocado sandwich and it was disgusting. I'm usually never a harsh critic of food and this was gross. The avocado was a watery spread that tasted like Mexican food. The tomato soup was gross too. The chicken tasted like it has been frozen and the food looks NOTHING like their menu. I'm sad there are so many people in line for this crappy food. SO. SO. BAD. I decided to give this location a second chance after trying them a few months ago. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I takes an average of 20-25 minutes to get your sandwich. I could have driven home and made my own sandwich before they would have made mine. They're incredibly overpriced. For my wife and I to have our sandwich and fries it was over $20! These are cheese sandwiches and cafeteria fries! In both of my experiences, they don't really seem to have a sense of urgency to making customers food. My hunched over, arthritic grandmother could butter bread and put cheese on it faster. I'm pretty well convinced that I could have orders food and picked it up from every restaurant in the food court before I would have received my order from here. Avoid it at all costs unless you have an entire day to burn for some mediocre food. read more

Fries were fresh, which was nice, but didn't save them from the mediocre sandwich and the unnecessarily long wait times. This used to be one of my favorite lunch time places but quality and service has greatly diminished. Then when a woman complained two moved to the cash register and sandwich building station. Unless you have nothing better to do, or need to kill time while your wife shops. Go anywhere else. 20 minutes for a food court lunch is legitimately one of the saddest things that I have ever experienced. First: The sign says freshly made chips, but as the food station is completely open you can see them crack open that lovely bag of Lays potato chips. Honestly if you're gonna lie do it with something that is not so blatantly obvious. Second: A sandwich is one of the easiest meals you can create, as all you have to do is put ingredients on bread and heat it up. Yet, somehow the complexity of this task seemed out of the employees capabilities. Freaking terrible. This place is what we compare all bad experiences to for the last several months. The employees were HORRIBLE. Unmotivated, unkempt, slow, and disorganized. They gave my food to the wrong person (after waiting a solid 30 minutes for it), she touched it, realized it wasn't hers, brought it back, the employee grabbed it, put it on a different plate, and then tried to give it to me. I told them several time in different ways what had happened and that I needed them to remake it. My husband had to tell them for them to understand. Then another 20 minutes later I finally got a mediocre grilled cheese I should NEVER have paid for. Absolutely unacceptable. Ordered through Grubhub.... only got half my order.... grubhub refunded the missing items but I called the store to talk with the manager. Raymond, the manager for the evening is obviously not manager material. I calmly explained what had happened and that Grubhub had taken care of the cost. Then asked if he, as the manager, had people checking orders before they went out... to which he answered, "we are very busy"... "Quality is more important than speed...does someone check the orders before they go out"..."No"..."Don't you think you should change that?"...."Sorry sir, We are very busy tonight".... While I did get a little upset with the lack of ownership of the problem I held my responses to a respectful level. When asked who his boss was and when they worked next, I was given two names and a response of "maybe tomorrow"... I'll be calling Curt or Alberto tomorrow.... a store manager should be teaching and empowering their subordinates to handle mistakes correctly. If this is the level of quality expectation set by the store manager, this store like the others will soon be out of business. As I was waiting for my sandwich, I noticed one of the employees didn't have their gloves on and was cutting an avocado. She ended up cutting herself with the knife trying to get the avocado pit out and kept making the salad. If I could give this place a worse rating I would. Horrible service and management. While the staff struggled to keep up with the rush the manager just hung out in the back, and would occasionally come out to yell at the staff, then she would go back to standing around. I stood in line for 10 minutes before my order was able to be taken, then it took another 50 minutes of standing around to receive my food which was made horribly. I ordered a chicken parmesan but received toasted bread with marinara and a few chunks of chicken. I asked for a refund because of the horrible experience and the manager grudgingly agreed, but never actually put the money back on my card. I will never get food from this place again. read more

My wife and I come to the SLC area several times a year and discovered a Melty Way location that is now closed (Sugar House area). My wife was adamant that we go to another location, if available, so we drove to this one. The mall where it is located is a little dated, but the food was the same. The jalapeno grilled cheese was rich and delicious, the tomato soup was creamy and the draft root beer was an excellent addition. The employees were obviously inexperienced, which is to be expected for a mall food court but it did not detract from the food. Too bad they don't have stand-alone locations anymore! read more

I would rate it lower if I could. Ate there today, SO SLOW. To top it off, they REFUSED to give me a $.25 (if that) bag for my leftovers because they didn't think I needed one with the amount of food I purchased and because I was also going to carry my parents food in the same bag from another food shop.
