Great experience at Mel's Diner. Our server Jessica was amazing. Kids were cranky and Jessica brought us paper, crayons and stickers. It worked like a charm and we were able to order and have dinner with out any other meltdowns. Food was good, servings were more than generous and price was reasonable. High point was service. Ask to sit in Jessica's section and you won't be disappointed. My drink never got below half empty and she served us with a smile. She had a great attitude and obviously likes her job and kids. As far as the kids were concerned the emoji and tsum tsum stickers Jessica brought from home were the best ever! And I quote "this chocolate milk is the best I have ever had in my life" that's five long years which they have been deprived of chocolate syrup for anyone wondering :). The strawberry smoothie also got a great review "amazing, look, it has real strawberries, yummy." This was our second visit and went Saturday early evening. Although they were busy we got a table right away and the service was on point. Definitely will be back next time we are in Naples and ask for Jessica again. read more

Not a big fan of their breakfast but love the variety they have for lunch and dinner specials. We haven't been disappointed yet. Be prepared for feeling rushed as they push an in and out kind of service but the food is exactly what you would expect from a diner. Have to give it a try, then judge for yourself! read more

This place is fantastic! Try to go on a busy night when you have a wait because one of the best parts is getting to watch the magician and his card tricks while you wait for your table. He has a great personality and has fantastic tricks. You can't miss it! The food is wonderful from start to finish. The homemade biscuits taste like warm fresh biscuits your grandmother would make. The salad is fresh and crisp and chopped up perfectly. We got lobster tails, ribs, grouper- all the meals were fantastic! The service was impeccable- super quick and very kind. We went for breakfast. I got the pot roast skillet and my husband got the biscuits and gravy. Both were delicious and was more than we could eat. Our server, Adriana, was the best! Make sure to ask for her when you go! You won't be disappointed! read more

I think three stars is fair, because the food was fresh and good, now the negative part the hostess was kind of rude, definitely not friendly and in a rush, clearly didn't want to be at work. She rushed to our table to drop off/ throw down our menus didn't even look back for us, no greeting just off to the next. Sometimes you wonder ok is it just me but nope she clearly did this to other customers as well so finally making it to out table, a party of three we noticed that on the both chair customers had left crumbs all over the seat so before sitting down we asked our waitress to please clean it for us as she rolled her eyes and walked away to grab a rag, this was our first time and last, I would order takeout or if you have to dine in don't expect much hospitality. read more

First time here and I loved it! Honestly by the looks of it from the outside, it looks very old style and vintage, I wanted to eat somewhere more modern and new - but don't let that fool you! The portion sizes are huge and the food is definitely yummy! I ordered the egg breakfast burrito and it came with roasted shredded potatoes and I also ordered separately a side of grits (a must have for breakfast) and everything was delicious! It's not the Mel's we have known from the past years. Four of us had lunch Wednesday at 11:15 am. The food; chicken tenders looked and tasted good, blue plate cabbage rolls needed some flavoring, short stack were ok but we ordered a full stack, other short stack was ordered with pecans but no pecans. The waitress said she would bring pecans we said no but she brought them anyway. The pecans were cold and hard since they had not be cooked inside the pancakes. Anyway the bill came and we did not want to pay for the pecans so they deleted them. We did not mention the full stack- we just said to ourselves this was the last Mel's diner experience for us read more

Awful! Ordered take-out. Cheeseburgers, ordered well done - they were browned (slightly) on the outside and almost raw inside. Burgers placed in container on top of tomato and pickle making bottom bun soaking wet. No seasoning detected on the meat. Fries tasteless - no seasoning detected. I was in naples over the weekend and stopped by mels diner. Exactly what a diner is supposed to feel like and food taste like. I had breakfast eggs were cooked perfect, hash browns were delicious, and sausage links were quality. Coffee had a lighter flavor in the best way and got me ready for the day. It was hard for me to decide on 3 or 4 stars. This is your basic old-school "diner". A nice-sized menu gives you plenty of options. Many of the locals rave about Mel's. This was my second time there - once many years ago, and once just recently. Both times my experience was decent. The food is solid. This time I had the prime rib - just to treat myself. It was a nice cut - not overly fatty, and it tasted good. Not great, but good. The sides of baked potato and salad were on the spot. Service was good. We didn't have the friendliest waiter, but he got the job done accurately and efficiently and he wasn't rude or anything. What puts this place past 3 stars is the selection on the menu as well as the old-time diner atmosphere. The menu has everything from big dinners (prime rib, ribs, etc) to patty melts to open-faced sandwiches and beyond. If you can't find something to eat here, well, you should be able to find something. The atmosphere is cool - lots of the old 60's style memorabilia and music. It's pleasant to sit around and soak it in. Our wait to be seated was quoted at 20 minutes (which felt low compared to all the people waiting), but was more like 5. If that. So kudos to their efficiency. For me, this isn't an "ohmygod" place to rave about, but it is a solid standby for a good meal at a reasonable price. We went to Mel's Diner on Easter Sunday for dinner. Our party ordered the prime rib, turkey dinner, chopped steak, and ribs along with drinks. the drinks were perfect! not too strong and definitely not weak. Came here with my family for a quick breakfast. This is the first time I came to this Mel's Diner. I ordered the chopped steak with eggs and potatoes. It was DELICIOUS!! My daughter ordered the kid's sausage and eggs and she LOVED the eggs. Unfortunately, the father of my kid's did not like his burrito. They used some type of sun dried tomato tortilla which gave it a weird taste. He couldn't even swallow it down. So he just ended up getting eggs and toast. He was not amused that day. read more

Cute little spot. We ordered the greek salad with grilled salmon and it was huge! We ended up splitting the huge portion and being somewhat full already because we also ate a small playe of ceasar salad before hand. We also got the strip steak to split and it was also just as big and came with mashed potatoes and gravy (Awsome) the value was great and you get your moneys worth. Horrible service. We are a group of tree service guys out here for hurricane Ian. We walked into the restaurant at 8pm and were told the guy in the front that the restaurant was closed. Mind you the place closes at 9 the restaurant was full and he has just finished taking a to go order by two lady's. I then ask them if we can atleast order to go aswell since mind you we've been working all day without eating and his response was that they were on a limited menu and that's why they were closing. After working in this area to help the residents of Naples, the least he could have done is atleast let us pick form his "limited menu" but the gentleman knew very well it wasn't a limited menu issue. He just had an issue serving 4 Latino men that are active landscapers, I guess we didn't fit into his white crowd. I will never ever give this establishment a dollar of my hard worked money. read more

Their soft drinks taste like dirt . Maybe the machines aren't cleaned enough ??? Very poor experience. No one came to take drink orders for 10 minutes, server said they didnt serve midori and ale but was clearly on the menu. Ordered chocolate malt, got a shake instead. Ready to order and no one came for another 10 or so minutes. The food came out fast, but found a clump of hair in the tuna salad melt and told the server who took the plate away. Brought the same plate back saying the kitchen said it was a piece of celery leaf from the tuna salad when it was literally a wad of hair....they took it off the plate for me. Sat with empty plates for another 10-15 minutes waiting for the check. Been to the Mels Diner in Bonita and had a WONDERFUL experience twice. Dont know if the owners or management is different between locations, but Naples Mels Diner is very neglected. read more

Simple food, not less than mediocre taste. I had a cup of the house-famous chicken noodle soup. It was good, but not my favorites. The soup was served with two packaged breadsticks. My entree consisted of small greek salad. Too many types of lettuce in a greek salad for me, and also loads of vegetables. It just didn't look or taste like a regular Greek salad.
